dontcallmelen · 29/01/2019 14:19

Laska yeahy great news, bet you are one happy bunny looking fabulous in your leather leggings😍
Ella jumper looks lovely, nice n cheerful. Glad the MRI wasn’t traumatic, last time I had one I had to get in on my stomach & Dh sat at the end holding my hands, the staff were so kind as I have a full on panic attack & just sobbed, hope the wait for results won’t be to long💐

Ellapaella · 29/01/2019 14:25

Ah bless you Len, I can understand that. When I first got in I asked the radiographer if she was allowed to stay and peer down at me in the scanner to reassure me! They were al very kind, can't imagine how they manage to get children to have MRI scans, I guess they must have to give them some sedation.

It's made me see my patients in a new light, they are so brave to go through all these tests and procedures, total respect to them. They never complain either and are always so grateful.

dontcallmelen · 29/01/2019 14:48

Ella it’s not the way you want to gain further insight, but at least you can now say I know how you feel, yy being grateful though I’m the same I’m under Kngs College in London & even though some of the tests/procedures I have had have been sometimes quite scary I have always been treated with such kindness & I marvel at the diagnostic equipment they have now.

dontcallmelen · 29/01/2019 14:49

I’m currently painting my kitchen chairs pink, as I’m bored😳

Ellapaella · 29/01/2019 15:06

I wish you could come and paint my dresser Len 😂
It was going to be my project but never got round to it..

dontcallmelen · 29/01/2019 15:15

Aww Ella I would if you were a bit nearer, i find it really relaxing as I don’t think about anything apart from concentrating on task, Dh reckons if it ain’t nailed down it gets painted 😂

Ellapaella · 29/01/2019 15:40

Just look at these, I love them! 😍

I’m glad the MRI wasn’t too traumatic, Ella. DD has had them 6 monthly all her life and she’s very relaxed about them. When she was about three and a half she announced ’no more put to sleep’. The consultant was a bit sceptical but she hopped on and didn’t move a muscle. Now we are both in this research project we’re both on annual. She is still fine, I need 5mg of oral diazapam, (which I’m convinced doesnt work, but the radiologist assures me DOES work and I’d be worse without it!).

Cherries your DD sounds like a very brave and remarkable young lady. ❤️
I admit I felt quite nervous today but the staff were so lovely, really helped to put me at ease and were so kind, I know am so lucky to have such a wonderful hospital on my doorstep. The NHS is amazing.

SoyYo · 29/01/2019 16:52

Bravo Ella! Very brave and I’m glad it wasn’t as difficult an experience as you feared. Must be so strange for you being on the patient side and it sounds like it’s already enriching your professional experience (I’m sure that’s not what you planned but I’m glad you’re seeing the silver lining)
The Ryder looks amazing on you and much better than it did on me.
I like the cords too 👍

dontcallmelen · 29/01/2019 17:20

Cherries they put us to shame, so young yet nonplussed by a big noisy machine, yy very brave I do seem to remember you shopping in a drug induced haze, can’t remember what it was that you bought though😂

dontcallmelen · 29/01/2019 17:22

Yes cords are lovely.
My kitchen chairs are now a very pretty pink.

Ellapaella · 29/01/2019 17:43

They look lovely Len - what kind of cooker is that you have? We are getting a new kitchen fitted in May and have chosen a rangemaster which I am very excited about.

NotAnActualSheep · 29/01/2019 17:47

Oooh - those are lovely len - such a pretty colour!

Flowers for ella - like others i'm glad it went as well as could be expected, but it sounds like a horrible experience. I've never experienced one, but given I'm not too good in enclosed spaces, I can't think I'd be a model patient... (So kudos to you, as well as others who have experienced them). Those topshop cords are loooovely - as is the Ryder, of course! I'm still waiting for take 2 of the toast ones...they are not the quickest at delivery.

I'm tempted by the Ryder myself, but am put off by the itchiness (and your comments on the washing!) - though I do also see to have ordered the grey hidden star one - again, just to see - on gin's recommendation (and i remember thinking it felt lovely in JL a while ago). Because, lets face it, I really need more grey jumpers... Hmm.

soy - that shrug is amazing - it looks so cosy and does really suit you. Sod off with the "round midget" - you look great! GrinWink. And as others have said - the glitter boots are lovely, and the embroidered shoes are great too...I do quite fancy myself some of them (though seriously, I would never have the opportunity to wear them...). Hope your trip goes well, and you manage to avoid the weather - and Shock at needing to travel over the worst possible time in March... what a bummer. Is it really necessary for the trip to be then? Also it sounds promising about your DS's appointment - fingers crossed.

And I'm so glad the ebay leather leggings work for you laska! Yay!

Hope everyone had a better night's sleep (and less weird dreams!) last night, and that you are feeling less snotty today, never. I have just snorted my tea out at all the germ sandwich references! I definitely had a past boss who i would have liked to dish one of those out to...

dontcallmelen · 29/01/2019 18:06

Thanks everyone Ella it’s a sandyford cast iron gas cooker, very similar to an Aga but a lot cheaper, they are manufactured in Yorkshire I think, one of the main reasons I got it is this blinkin kitchen/house is absolutely freezing (detached Victorian) & it stays warm for hours plus I dry my washing on it 😄

whiskyremorse · 29/01/2019 18:14

@Ella I'm still going to the sale on Saturday if you have a wishlist?

Ellapaella · 29/01/2019 19:01

Thanks @whiskyremorse - T shirts! Preferably in an XS. If you don't mind having a look that would be amazing, I can PayPal you straight away

whiskyremorse · 29/01/2019 19:08

No problem, I will pick up a few and I can throw any you don't want on ebay. Preference for round or v neck?

Ellapaella · 29/01/2019 19:19

V neck - thanks so much.

SoyYo · 29/01/2019 19:31

@melen adore the pale pink in your kitchen chairs ❤️ Well done you!
not thank you for the kind words, unfortunately at the mo I’m working on a global procurement strategy (it’s long/boring story) which is the reason I keep toing froing from Paris to lead workshops with our internal people on the different steps to build it and validate/align as it’s a strict methodology I have to follow. So I’m off to shower/pack as I have 5am start tomorrow but at least only one night away and will be home late Thursday night. And yes the “big reveal” presentation of the final strategy is now set for 28 March to our top management so can’t be helped...
My DS called me this pm he’s really not doing great Sad but his Brighton assessment is on Friday and he promised to come home straight after/for the weekend.

Have a good eve All it’s raining hard in East Anglia hope it doesn’t turn to snow overnight

FuzzyPuffling · 29/01/2019 19:41

melen Your whole kitchen is gorgeous. Love those chairs!

GinandGingerBeer · 29/01/2019 19:46

Well I love it @NotAnActualSheep so I hope you do too.
Pleased the MRI went ok @Ellapaella, it's the noise I can't stand. Like someone clanking a hammer against a radiator
Hope you're feeling better @never
@SoyYo that wrap is gorgeous Envy
Glad it's not just me who thinks graham N sounds like their nanan @len Grin
Can't wait to see the 'laska leggings' I reckon Hush should officially name them thus! Wink

GinandGingerBeer · 29/01/2019 19:48

Ooh len! Love the chairs. Your house looks so cosy Envy
