I'm normally quick to be annoyed at the media, but actually, I see how this one probably played out.
Initial reports came in via a bystander who would have recognised Philip. There would have been zero information on the other people in the first instance, leading to the initial headlines.
Then the media would have buzzed around getting news on the other passengers/drivers. Which then led to the news that there were two women and a baby, with the driver having a broken wrist.
Philip would have remained the focus of the story as he's the famous one. (in fact, I was pleased at the beginning because if there had been serious injuries, that would have got out quicker and we'd have heard about the others' involved much sooner).
In the news stories I read and heard this morning, the lead was philip, but the other passengers were mentioned immediately afterwards. The baby first (children in accidents is more "compelling" in news), then the two women.
