Completely missed the ball with the previous thread so hope this thread is easy enough to find!

Poor Stephanie - she looks so drawn and sad in those pics. On a brighter note, Max looks very very smart in that grey on grey outfit - very taken with the cape. Loving the big pearls - just lifts the whole thing.

Clionba · 16/01/2019 19:40

We're discussing fashion and the looks, I don't see anyone criticising the women - just the style or look, which is fine.

AFifthOfKoolAid · 16/01/2019 19:46

There have been posts about muscle tone and failure to consult your sister in law of 8 months about maternity wear, I'd say that's critical of the wearer, not the clothes.

QueenOfTheAndals · 16/01/2019 19:50

Yep, critique the clothes but not the wearer is the motto of this thread. God knows there have been enough threads on AIBU recently about Meghan spending too much or Kate being too skinny 🙄

Clionba · 16/01/2019 19:52

Actually, Kool, that's true, I've just seen the remarks about physique and body tone.

Paradyning · 16/01/2019 19:54

Meghan's make up is absolutely immaculate tonight ( as always really) but loving her red lip. She's also got Hollywood staple Stuart Weitzmann nudist sandals on. But how?? It makes my feet hurt even thinking about it!

LaurenOrdering · 16/01/2019 19:55

I wonder if it tickled Meghan to be wearing a H&M dress today especially when she looks at the label. One of my friends has a name the same as a clothes store/fashion label & it makes it feel that the clothes are labelled especially for her Smile
Back to H&M (Shop) their maternity wear is excellent, nearly everything
I wore when pregnant was H&M.

MrsGrindah · 16/01/2019 19:55

That colour on Kate is stunning..she should have an evening gown in that shade! Didn’t like Meghans day outfit ( actually looked cheap and uncomfortable) but fab tonight.

QueenOfTheAndals · 16/01/2019 19:59

Meghan is very expressive isn't she? I notice she gestures a lot when speaking to people or giving speeches.

I remember a few threads ago we played a game where we posted high street suggestions for Kate & Meghan to wear, I think H&M was mentioned for Meghan.

So Megs I think you would look great in something from Damsel in a Dress

LaurenOrdering · 16/01/2019 20:02

(Posted before I finished)
not sure if DD do maternity but if one has a good seamstress.

Have to add something to praise the wearer, not the clothes (despite this being fashion) but Megan looks OUTSTANDINGLY beautiful and glowing in one of those photos upthread. Maybe the highlighter on her cheeks (bringing it back to style in Style & Fashion!) and her straighter hair but she looks utterly beautiful. I like it that she looks properly pregnant and not hiding it. Good for her!

Haworthia · 16/01/2019 20:13

Was very impressed to see Meghan squatting down to fuss a dog, in THOSE heels. I had such horrific SPD when pregnant I wouldn’t have been able to squat down in the first place, let alone get back up again AND wear towering stilettos.

Spudlet · 16/01/2019 20:13

That dress! So sparkly!

My inner five year old and my outer 36 year old both like it very much indeed.

CreakyBlinder · 16/01/2019 20:19

I wasn't saying it was one type of critique or the other, I just felt I was a bit negative and so some other posts stood out to me as being the same.

Parabolica · 16/01/2019 20:20

Meghan has absolutely knocked it out of the park tonight. She really looks breathtakingly beautiful. Harry looks completely besotted. Having said that I didn't really like her day outfit - felt a midi dress (but keeping all the clinginess) would have been more elegant. Just my personal preference.
Kate's little flippy skirt suit did look a bit dated and girlish. I had an identical style suit from Hobbs in 1999! Didn't mind the shoes actually. Would have been much better with trousers. Would love to see Kate in more trousers suits.

QueenOfTheAndals · 16/01/2019 20:24

Stunning, just stunning. And I love the lipstick too. We don't often see a deep lip on the Windsor women.

I'm certain the lack of tights is that Meghan is from California, and that's just not really a tights place. She's also got the most terrific colouring, so there's no point her even wearing a sheer tight. Am really not surprised she's resisting tights! Also, the time she wore tights at a Buckingham Palace Garden Party there were columns devoted to the topic.

Hairwise, she probably has a keratin treatment on the roots, they're much milder now and it wouldn't harm the baby. Also, it's just the regrowth that would need doing, not the entirety. I have similar hair and this is how I manage mine.

(I used to be a personal shopper for a very high-end fashion boutique so do like to think I know what I'm talking about when it comes to clothes and style. I'm not American, London-based and hate tights with a passion. I refuse to wear them and happily wear skirts during the winter).

PrimeExample · 16/01/2019 20:28

Oh! She is gorgeous. What a lovely dress, and the make-up is beautiful tonight.

Creakyblinder I may have this wrong - was not posting directly with reference to your post, more that I was defending mine! It's hard to separate fashion/style from general appearance, which can be personal.

Speaking of which, Harry is rather swoonsome. Agree the beard looks prickly, but I went out with someone with similar facial hair, and was surprised by how silky it felt!

MrsGrindah · 16/01/2019 20:28

I wonder if Harry ever comes home and says “Is that another new dress?” “What this old thing? No had it aaaages!”

StellaRockafella · 16/01/2019 20:28

Just seen the Roland Mouret midnight blue sequin dress. It's dream. Her whole styling is totally perfect.

ShakeYourTailFeathers · 16/01/2019 20:31

She looks utterly lovely tonight. She's sooo pretty Grin

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 16/01/2019 20:32

Meg's evening dress is just stunning. I think it's midnight blue rather than black. It's a fantastic shade on her. Love the deep lipstick.

Re: bare legs; it's a fashion thing surely? Look at the front row of Fashion week in February, they all have tanned, bare legs. Shows grooming and money.

Clionba · 16/01/2019 20:36

Meghan looks stunning tonight! What a fabulous look - and - hurrah!!! - the dress is a great fit! Elegant and stylish. Her hair is great and I love the strong lip colour and dark toe nails.

Spudlet · 16/01/2019 20:37

I think she's got the hang of the bump now. It takes a while sometimes to adjust, I think, especially if you had a fairly set style that you liked pre-bump. But she seems to be rocking it now.

I don't know how people do bare legs, honestly. I get so cold at this time if year, it's wooly lined tights all the way for me if I prise myself away from jeans! I don't think they look bad, I just get cold to think of it!
