Hair with pics. Need URGENT help before “the chop” tomorrow

AuntyJackiesBrothersSistersBoy · 07/01/2019 18:32

That’s it really. Having cut and highlights tomorrow at 12 noon. I’ve let my hair get very dark over the past year. I’m 57.

Am I too old for hair this length? Beginning to feel like I need something doing but literally have no clue “what”. Don’t want a classic bob because I’ve been there many times and it always gets on my nerves, all that turning it under business.

I need advice before 11.30am tomorrow. Thanks 😊

Sorry op, your haircut is ace!

TheRealHousewifeofCheshire · 08/01/2019 17:20

Whats a Nu face?

Hair looks gorge after i posted i was going to suggest a blunt cut as i decided it might suit you bettet than layers BUT i sae others had.

Hair and you both look banging. Wouldve loved to see it styled but wjatever floats your boat its gorgeous

AuntyJackiesBrothersSistersBoy · 08/01/2019 17:24

MorrisZ yes, I think so. I had it for a long time in my 20’s but then, it WAS the 80’s and that Vidal Sassoon bob was wonderful for me then. After going into nursing, I wanted to start tying it back, under a nursing cap. When the caps were abolished I had a short back and sides. So, I’ve tried a few things, over the years. My “non” style as such now, suits me because I don’t “do” my hair anymore. It dries by itself, spends 70% of its time up and I don’t need to think about it. That way, in the mornings, I’ve time to do my face (an absolute necessity) and off I go.

If your bob works for you, stick with it. Your hair is a lovely colour. I couldn’t go that fair but always wanted to. It’d cost me a fortune in root growth!

Don't cut it short, my hair is the same as yours i am 58, i would just have the bottom trimmed. i trim my own hair, as every hairdresser i try seems to want to cut loads off.

AuntyJackiesBrothersSistersBoy · 08/01/2019 19:11

Thanks Lindy. It’s done. Just less than 3 inches off and some highlights. I like it 😊

It looks lovely. Mine is around the same length, except that I have a fringe (which is just down over my eyelids, so not short but not long). I have a deep barrel waver so that I can have beach waves for a bit of variety. I've always had straight hair apart from when I was a toddler and a few 80s perms, and at 49 I've come to realise that curlier hair suits me so much more.

katekat383 · 08/01/2019 20:13

Glad you kept the length. It’s lovely.

AuntyJackiesBrothersSistersBoy · 09/01/2019 18:59

Thanks. But don’t you just love it when your loved ones say “I can’t see any difference. “How much did THAT cost?” 😐

Ooh, it’s lovely, good job! Wish mine looked like that but mine’s decided to do a bit of middle age thinning so staying at chin until it stabilises or all falls out!

AuntyJackiesBrothersSistersBoy · 10/01/2019 10:19

Julie, mine has thinned a lot since 53/54. I’ve made the decision to STOP using my Tangle Teezer as well. I’m pretty sure it’s not helping the issue. I need to find something which will detangle very, very gently.

You look AMAZING. Shock

AfterSchoolWorry · 10/01/2019 10:21

OP, try a a wetbrush.

MarshaBradyo · 10/01/2019 10:23

Good decision
You have fantastic hair, don’t underestimate it
It looks good long

Dimsumlosesum · 10/01/2019 10:25

I'm thinking I need to do this too! Ps you're really amazing looking, I'm jealous :)

AuntyJackiesBrothersSistersBoy · 10/01/2019 19:19

Thanks. Have ordered a detangler today. Hoping it helps. Also, going to try to cut down on the 🍷 for general health ( unless my mental health required I reinstate a daily glass).

My hairdresser suggested Biotin. Anyone had success with supplements?

AuntyJackiesBrothersSistersBoy · 12/01/2019 16:19

Ok. Have used my Mason Pearson Nylon Pocket Sixed Detangle hairbrush today, for the first time. This little gem was £20 on offer (£28 less 20%) from ESCENTUAL. It is in a class of its own. Not a single snag in use. A VERY different experience from the Tangle Teezer and really hoping it will help with my thinning bonce.

I have now thrown my TT in the recycling bin, as I will not, ever, use it again.

Looks like this.... As I said, I got the Pocket Size as this (for me) was enough to spend.

You look gorgeous! I hope I look as good as you when I’m 57’

Really like your current hair but love a blunt cut. Your colour is really lovely too.

Thanks DidSomeone We all age. I notice huge changes now but, it is what it is. It does help that I’m plumpish 😊. Whenever I try to lose weight now, it goes off my face and neck first 😐

NuFace Mini just plumps the skin. It claims to help with replacement of collagen. All I know is, I don’t look as tired and it’s only a few minutes “work” and does give results. Look it up.
