Hair with pics. Need URGENT help before “the chop” tomorrow

That’s it really. Having cut and highlights tomorrow at 12 noon. I’ve let my hair get very dark over the past year. I’m 57.

Am I too old for hair this length? Beginning to feel like I need something doing but literally have no clue “what”. Don’t want a classic bob because I’ve been there many times and it always gets on my nerves, all that turning it under business.

I need advice before 11.30am tomorrow. Thanks 😊

I’m a hairdresser and if you came to see me I’d suggest an inverted choppy bob with some highlights to refresh what you have.

Have a google it’s a great style, easy to wear with little to no styling required

Areyouongluedear · 07/01/2019 20:01

Oh and if you keep the front long you can still tie it back. Win

AlaskanOilBaron · 07/01/2019 20:02

HOW ARE YOU 57?

Leave it long but blunt.

PaulHollywoodsleftbollockhair · 07/01/2019 20:10

See I am thinking you’re short is pretty long! 😁

Have you ever had a pixie?

Mariandidit · 07/01/2019 20:13

No not short! You have lovely hair, I think it’s quite youthful. A woman at work had hers cut off and everyone was saying how lovely it was, it aged her 10 years in a day 😬

PaulHollywoodsleftbollockhair · 07/01/2019 20:14

I think this sort of thing would look fabulous on you - similar bone structure....

Maria -she just had a crap short cut.

Riotingbananas · 07/01/2019 20:24

How about this? I'm a similar vintage to you and it's a really flattering style. I've got it a bit different with a long fringe as that suits me better, but I think it would really suit you like it is in the picture.

Nope, you can’t convince me Paul. It’s not MY TIME to go really really short 😊

I like that soft bob but know I wouldn’t be able to tie it back. It HAS to go back, even if the hair is in a teeny weeny pony.

And....I ain’t no Sharon Stone. I’m quite overweight at the minute so, very short wouldn’t be good.

Firstly. You look AMAZING

Secondly. Stay longer. I think going shorter ages you.

Thirdly. Prefer your first picture. GORGEOUS Grin

zippyswife · 07/01/2019 20:34

You’re gorgeous. The 3 pics you posted would look great on you. You could totally pull them off.

cleanhousewastedlife · 07/01/2019 20:45

Blunt ends are great. A colleague of mine who is your age with similar hair just did the layers thing and in my silent opinion it's aged her terribly. It's a shame, I thought she was gorgeous before.

TheRealHousewifeofCheshire · 07/01/2019 20:49

You're gorgeous. Just get it cut an 8nch amd a half or so at back and layers with highlights maybe low lights.

Wow you look amazing for 57. Can we see after pics?

katekat383 · 07/01/2019 20:50

Keep it long.

Flossmequick · 07/01/2019 20:53

Picture 1 is lovely & you will look even more amazing.

Julianaa · 07/01/2019 20:54

You've got great hair, OP! I would just get an inch or so trimmed off, keep the blunt ends, and the highlights you wanted.

Princesspeachy0 · 07/01/2019 21:10

I love the 1st pic of the 3 u posted. I Think it would look perfect on u!

messyhousetidymind · 07/01/2019 21:16

You look amazing I would keep most of the length. Get a few long layers if you don't like them they'll soon grow out

NuffingChora · 07/01/2019 21:23

If you’re worried about hair thinning for the love of god don’t get layers chopped in. Your hair looks in super condition and not thin at all, but if you want it looking thick and healthy stay blunt. Layers are a total fallacy IMO, your hair type looks similar to mine and the second it sees a pair of scissors in anything other than a perpendicular direction it’s straggly.

Oh, and yes, you look like a GODDESS at 57. And keep it long, it really suits you and totally agree short cuts can be really aging and also a lot more high maintenance.

CheeeseLady · 07/01/2019 21:28

Keep it long, how it is but have blunt ends for a thicker effect. In those photos I see some ombré and I do not think you're too old for that, my god you look no where near 57!! You'd suit that so much in my opinion, as long as the colours aren't too different and bright

IAmAlwaysLikeThis · 07/01/2019 21:31

omg please don’t get an inverted bob, so aging.

I’d just get a trim, it looks lovely.

StarJumpsandaHalf · 07/01/2019 21:34

For goodness sake DO NOT CHOP it off. An inch to two max. Personally I don't like the straight and blunt finish, slightly more shape on the ends and a very loose wave on styling would be my way to go. Ask your stylist which products would help.

MissLanesAmericanCousin · 07/01/2019 21:56

Don't cut it! You look fabulous at 57! I prefer the second pic. That is by far my favourite. It's a little bohemian and very sexy! Love your profile too. I am a nose person (i have a roman nose, myself. My great grandfather was Basque) and I think that is one of the many reasons why you look so much younger than your years. I find that people with smaller noses tend to age poorly. Anyhoo, thats my me on box, sorry about that!

You look amazing! Smile

ScarlettDarling · 07/01/2019 22:02

Wow AuntJackie you look amazing already. Can't believe you're 57!! Love the hairdos you posted pics of, show them to your hairdresser and ask their opinion. You have to return tomorrow with a pic!
