Hair with pics. Need URGENT help before “the chop” tomorrow

That’s it really. Having cut and highlights tomorrow at 12 noon. I’ve let my hair get very dark over the past year. I’m 57.

Am I too old for hair this length? Beginning to feel like I need something doing but literally have no clue “what”. Don’t want a classic bob because I’ve been there many times and it always gets on my nerves, all that turning it under business.

I need advice before 11.30am tomorrow. Thanks 😊

Do not cut it - you look fab. Google Anya Hindmarch - the bag designer. She has long blonde hair and is about 56 and looks totally fab.

Annasgirl · 07/01/2019 22:05

Oops I mean Amanda Wakely🙄

Annasgirl · 07/01/2019 22:06

And don’t go for layers. Blunt ends make hair look thicker.

ItsHardToExplain · 07/01/2019 22:08

You look fab and if I were you I would leave the hair like it is and just buy a Dyson hair wrap - so you could have a change from what you have now buts it’s not permanent.

LionsHeart · 07/01/2019 22:09

Your hair looks magnificent. For the love of God don't have it cut short.

Spagyetti · 07/01/2019 22:17

Noooo, don't do choppy bob.

I think you look younger now than in the short hair picture. Keep it long. I actually like the colour too.

Queenofthedrivensnow · 07/01/2019 22:26

You look younger and cooler by a long way with the long hair compared to the short do

Your hair looks fantastic! It looks so healthy and lovely. Don’t chop it off!

MorrisZapp · 07/01/2019 22:34

Mate, you look like an after pic already.

WaitrosePigeon · 07/01/2019 22:37

Please don’t chop your hair. Just get some high lights.

SavageBeauty73 · 07/01/2019 22:37

57?! You look amazing

DrinkSangriaInThePark · 07/01/2019 22:38

I love your long hair, and I love the colour. You look amazing! I really wouldn't go shorter... So many women your age have shorter cuts and it really does suit you...

BaronessBomburst · 07/01/2019 22:43

I liked the second picture, but keep the length as much as you can.
I had a inverted bob once and found it extremely annoying. My hair is very fine and there wasn't enough weight or body to keep the front hanging nicely. It just dangled and flapped around. I had to get the hairdresser to level it short all the way around and then wait for it to grow back.

katekat383 · 07/01/2019 22:55

OP, I think I remember you from another thread. There were photos then too, people said you looked youthful etc.🙂
And you do. And your hair is lovely.

AuntyJackiesBrothersSistersBoy · 07/01/2019 23:02

Yep, probably me. It’s a constant pain in the proverbial, the hair dilemma.

I think you look better with longer hair.

I’d keep the length, maybe with a few layers at the front, but go darker. Not as dark as chestnut, but something rich and warm that you could wear a good red lipstick with.

That said, if you saw me you’d run a mile from my advice 😂

AuntyJackiesBrothersSistersBoy · 07/01/2019 23:21

7Salmons 😁 My head is the best bit. Everything else is crumbling!

@AuntyJackiesBrothersSistersBoy I looked at the photos first. And the I saw 57. 57. You're obviously lying, OP. You're 40. 43, tops. 😱😱😱

I know this is the thread YOU started to ask questions. But what kind of lifestyle you had/have that you look so FABULOUS and young? I need to know! Grin

PS: the blunt bob will suit you perfectly

TheRealHousewifeofCheshire · 08/01/2019 12:42

How did it go OP?

AuntyJackiesBrothersSistersBoy · 08/01/2019 16:49

It went fine. I had 2 1/2 inches of “woolly” end off. Blunt cut. Highlights 😊 and left it to dry so, it’s not very smooth but you get the picture. I love the colour and feel well brightened up 😉. I don’t use hair dryers etc so asked her she’d just leave it combed through. Sorry to all those expecting a “bob”. She kind of talked me out of it but I’m pleased with the thicker look of my bonce!

Looks lovely OP.

Anyone suggesting an inverted bob needs to get back to 2002 sharpish!

AuntyJackiesBrothersSistersBoy · 08/01/2019 16:55

Oh, and Prosecco I have a lot of stress (who doesn’t?), drink too much 🍷, eat too much rubbish and walk the dog miles. I have Aspergers so, to be fair I’m never going to be the life and should of the party but, I have a handful of friends who forgive me everything, EXCEPT the perennial question “what the f**k am I going to do with me hair?” 😁

On the face front, I had a NuFace Mini as a gift in 2017. It was used a handful of times and then retired to my knicker drawer. In August (or thereabouts) 2018, I dragged it out again and now do it 5 x weekly, 10 mins a time. I SWEAR it’s fattened up my skin. Or, it could be the biscuits 😐

Shirley, is that your real surname? 😊

And thank you.

Does an inverted bob mean longer at the front? I've had this for many years and it's the only cut that I think suits me, 2002 or no 2002.
