Is this jumper/tunic too mumsy?

DH says it is, and not 'London' enough. I thought it would be nice for casual wear. Late 30s, am a mum!

Not keen on either of these two I'm afraid. Which shop do you mean?

jessstan2 · 02/01/2019 07:10

It's OK, nothing wrong with it for ordinary/every day wear. You're not going to wear it to a ball!

Honestly, it's fine. Most of us have fairly ordinary stuff which we just sling on to go shopping and often look pretty good with little effort. Sometimes less is more and I predict you will look sensational in your blue tunic! If not, does it matter?

Devilishpyjamas · 02/01/2019 07:16

I love it, but I’m nearly 50 & haven’t lived in London for 20 years. I don’t think I felt the need to be ‘London’ (wtf?) when I did live there.

Looks comfy - which is the best attribute for clothes I find.

PickAChew · 02/01/2019 07:34

I love the shade of the blue one, but then I have a lot of that colour in my wardrobe.

explodingkitten · 02/01/2019 07:37

Depends. If you're going to a wedding then no. If your just doing average day-to-day stuff then it's fine. Surely you don't have to look like a supermodel on the catwalk during a normal day? I like the back and it looks comfy to me.

Tiredismymiddlename85 · 02/01/2019 07:38

A bit meh!

Conseulabananahammock · 02/01/2019 07:53

Id have worn the first one with knee boots and a leather jacket...I've just turned 30
Your partner is a dick
Sorry

Applepudding2018 · 02/01/2019 08:27

Of the second jumpers I'd choose the blue one. But I also liked the front and shape of the previous blue one. And I'm over 50 and not from London Grin

BusterGonad · 02/01/2019 08:28

The blue one is to triangular shaped, it's a meh blue shade and just doesn't look very nice, I don't like the sleeves either. Out of all 3 the Macy's one was the best imo

Ellapaella · 02/01/2019 08:37

The black one is a better shape than the blue one. The blue one is too much of a washed out colour - looks a bit bland.
Black one looks nice.

OutwiththeOutCrowd · 02/01/2019 09:02

Would this be 'London' enough for him?

Seriously, you have a lovely figure and I'm sure you would look good in anything you tried on. And you've got a generous Mum! (She can pick up this sweater from Amazon if she likes.)

The only fly in the ointment is DH and his comments as far as I can see! Forget London, I think you need to send him to Coventry.

Out of the 3, the first looks best...

dellacucina · 02/01/2019 13:55

Talbot's! That wasn't meant as a dig at old ladies, just a certain style worn by many old ladies where I'm from (looks like I can stereotype too, gulp). As a PP said, it's a frumpy style.

They have some nice basics despite that...at least I thought so...

OutwiththeOutCrowd thanks for the kind recommendation 😂

Do you like it? It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks, tbh.

dellacucina · 03/01/2019 18:18

I do, but I have bought a bunch of other stuff and need to whittle my purchases down as it feels like a lot!

I like the kind of 60s Mary Tyler Moore feel of this outfit.

I like the blue one a lot more in the latest pictures! I like the shape. You look lovely 🙂

BlancheM · 03/01/2019 19:21

I think you look lovely in them all! It's just a question of your personal preference.

(I think it's worth thinking about NCing when you post photos, only because your DH might recognise you and see your other threads Thanks)

Pieceofpurplesky · 03/01/2019 19:52

I certainly hope your DH doesn't wear socks and does not leave the house without a flat cap a la pesky blinders ....

Pieceofpurplesky · 03/01/2019 19:53

Or peaky even

fartwhenyoustandup · 03/01/2019 20:19

I think it looks ok from the front. Not particularly flattering, but alright for wearing round the house or to walk the dog.
The back really makes it look cheap in my opinion. Like something off the market in skeggy. 🤢

BusterGonad · 04/01/2019 13:37

Actually the blue one looks 100% better in the latest photos and I actually like it, it looks really 50s/60s in the new photos! Keep it! 😁
