Have you got a red handbag?

I’m lusting after handbags and about to make a purchase.
One of the bags on sale ...an excellent bargain is a bright red handbag.
I’m considering it... also have a berry coloured one in the basket but it doesn’t feel a very sensible choice. For the record quite £££££ handbags so not one which I could happily go off after justa week or two!

Would you like to share the link?

Yes - I have a red mulberry bag.

I love it.

It's "red" not oxblood.

Ive got 5 mulberry bags and it's my second favourite. It's love the way it makes an otherwise boring outfit look special.

My first 3 mulberry bags I played safe with black and brown - and I'm pleased to have them, but my braver choices wrt colour are the ones I love the most.

BeaLola · 28/12/2018 00:46

Pls share the link - styles can really vary in different shades . FWIW I have 2 red bags both of which I love and use a great deal.

BaronessBomburst · 28/12/2018 00:47

Yes, but I had the shoulder strap removed and use it as a clutch - it's quite small.
I love it to bits and have had it for years.
For me, a bright red wouldn't work in the daytime but it's fab for evenings.

Tobermory · 28/12/2018 00:48

I can’t share the link... if I do you might all buy it then it’ll be sold out!!

@DeRigueurMortis what you say about safe colour choices is exactly me. I’m looking with admiration at the navy and at the brown ( but I don’t want a navy or brown one!!)

I'd go for it OP - red bags look great when your wearing darker colours.

I've never regretted buying mine.

This is the nearest I can find to mine (they don't make it anymore). However mines larger and a different Bayswater variation. It still gives you the sort of feel of the bag though.

I have a gorgeous red Strathberry and I love it, especially with dark clothes as it really brings the outfit to life. It really gets noticed, which is great. I didn't want it to just blend in. I'd say go for it.

canigetaliein · 28/12/2018 05:52

red is a great choice.

Cakemadeoffruit · 28/12/2018 05:54

I have a bright red bag and love it. Use it all year round, not just winter months and always get complimented on it. Always feel a bit special when I use it, as opposed to safe and blended in when I use my black one.

Tobermory · 28/12/2018 08:40

@CrazySheepLady ooooo the East/west Mini is super cute.

This is the bag that I’m considering ..

I bought the navy one like that (the Chelsea hobo I think) in the summer when it was £112. I love it. Loads of people sent theirs back because the leather is thicker - I actively wanted thicker leather as I was using it for work on trains/tube/buses and it gets a workout.

6 months of use - not one mark Smile

LaurieFairyCake · 28/12/2018 08:53

Mines is the turn lock hobo. Really regret not buying it in red too!

LoniceraJaponica · 28/12/2018 08:56

Yes. It is very practical as it has loads of pockets so I know where my keys, purse, phone etc are without having to rummage. It is really good quality as well.

LaurieFairyCake · 28/12/2018 08:56

I'm actually considering this as it's a lovely colour in real life. I'm swithering as I've not worn 'pink' colours for decades! I think it would go well with my standard navy and grey colours.

LaurieFairyCake · 28/12/2018 08:57

This!

I have a red Tote - makes me feel happy when I use it!

If you wear a lot of darker clothing this will look great

Buy it...I regret not getting the scout hobo in last years sale

Spray it with Collonil carlin pro or water stop or something to protect and nourish it then it won't mark easily

CherryPavlova · 28/12/2018 08:58

Yes. It really cheers up a dark outfit.

ChishandFips33 · 28/12/2018 08:59

Carbon pro!

Tobermory · 28/12/2018 09:01

@LaurieFairyCake, I have this in my bag too. Same dark berry colour which I love every time I look in my shopping basket... but too pink?

Thank you for sharing Coach with this bag addict. 😣 They’ve changed a lot and I’m a new fan. Ouch!

I have this little red Mulberry one. It was an early Xmas present I got a few months ago and I love it! It has a long shoulder strap but you can't see it in the photo as it's tucked inside.

I've been noticing quite a few red bags the last couple
Of months.

winsinbin · 28/12/2018 09:20

I love a red bag, but be warned OP. Red dye is not very stable and can often run or rub off on clothing, particularly if the weather is wet or humid.

ChishandFips33 · 28/12/2018 09:25

Louise at Love Lolo will help you pick the right product re protecting and transfer etc

So glad you bought it - have zero guilt and call it a treat to yourself (at that bargain price it's about £2 a week for a year!)

Share pics when it comes
