Continued Xmas Grin

OP posts:
MeetOnTheSIedge · 20/12/2018 07:43

Curly and no blow drying here too, I have wasted a lot of money on styling products over the years and given up on them completely now.

Atalune · 20/12/2018 07:48

I’m really annoyed that there have been 3 (!) hair treatments/things but not one face moisturiser! The boost is a serum so doesn’t count.

I am using some old crappy simple stuff.

Shitonthebloodything · 20/12/2018 07:53

I loved the post from someone who said it was like a £1.40 lucky dip each day. That's definitely changed my perspective on it and although I'm not sure I'll use this as I'm another curly one, its a good brand and I'm sure others will be pleased with it.
I usually use these calendars as a way of trying lots of new things so I know what to buy for the rest of the year. So far I have nothing on the repurchase list so if nothing else my purse is grateful Grin

IToldYouIWasFreaky · 20/12/2018 08:09

It's a hair product I can use! It's not strictly Curly Girl friendly as it has fruit wax in but it's not the worst thing for your hair and quite far down the list of ingredients.
I am not sure what good it'll do though as I whack so much styling product on ready but we'll see.

I would definitely have preferred more skin care and less hair stuff but I know others really loved the Phillip Kingsley stuff so yoi can't please everyone!

I am still loving the pefume and the weird gel stuff has turned into a surprise hit - I have been using it everyday and my skin is feeling much less dry.

MysweetAudrina · 20/12/2018 08:24

I opened my box in the dark this morning before I left for work, was sure it was a face moisturiser which I was happy about and was a bit meh about realising it was another hair product even though it is one I will use. Only 5 more boxes to open. How is our total coming along LateDecember1963?

Richlyfruited · 20/12/2018 08:42

Full size hair styler product (128ml) is £24 in M&S

Quite looking forward to trying this but yes there's been at least one too many hair products!

Richlyfruited · 20/12/2018 08:43

*sorry it's 118ml - fat fingers!!

Haworthia · 20/12/2018 09:24

I’m really annoyed that there have been 3 (!) hair treatments/things but not one face moisturiser

I’m sure there’s been a night cream... hasn’t there? I can’t be bothered to go upstairs and check my stash right now.

And besides, I’m pretty sure there’s a moisturiser coming. When I ordered the calendar there was an image of all the contents, and although I tried my best to squint and not get any spoilers, I did notice a moisturiser I’ve been wanting to try for years.

ButteryParsnips · 20/12/2018 09:31

I won't use today's but love the skincare so happy to swap it for any of those.

JessicaJonesJacket · 20/12/2018 09:40

IToldYou I'd forgotten about the 'weird gel stuff' - thanks for the reminder - I haven't even tried it yet!

latedecember1963 · 20/12/2018 09:48

I like the smell of today's hair product. Will use it tomorrow morning. It's pouring with rain here and I'm braving the supermarket later so my hair will do for now.

Audrina, our running total has reached £228.55 now I have added in the £6.00 for today. Fab, isn't it? 😊

I'm going to get the Filorga eye cream as it's been really soothing and hasn't made my eyes flare up with eczema when I've tried it.

SlowNorris · 20/12/2018 09:55

Do you think it’s worth trying today’s without blow drying? Or is it one of those that’s heat activated?

I never blow dry, don’t even own a hairdryer Xmas Grin

Skinfulnappies46 · 20/12/2018 10:03

No good to me either as total curly girl. But it’s a good brand and I’m sure a great product for those that can use it .

Cherrypi · 20/12/2018 10:05

Impressed with today’s. Decided to wear hair down instead of tie it up as it looked so much better than usual.

YouWereRight · 20/12/2018 10:26

I never blow Bry my hair, so not sure when I'll get to use today's. But my sister will like it.

About the middle of the second week, it always gets a bit negative. If you're that bothered about the contents, they were available on line, and in store before purchasing.

I'm very ok with multiples of products, part of what I like is trying new things, and the sample sizes mean that it's easy to try and see which you prefer.

SlowNorris · 20/12/2018 10:41

Some people like repeats, some don’t. Some people like sample size, some don’t. We’ve been over this.

JessicaJonesJacket · 20/12/2018 12:16

I've enjoyed reading the thread apart from the tone policing and think it's fine to discuss the products and say which are working for us and which aren't. Just think, if no-one commented at all negatively we wouldn't have discovered the ponytail Elasticiser hack, etc Wink

SuperstarDJ · 20/12/2018 12:33

I’m not fussed on today’s, yesterday’s (blusher brush) or the nail varnish but other than that I’m pleased. First year getting the calendar and I’d probably get it again. It’s great as a £1.40 daily lucky dip as it was described by a PP.

BollockingBaubles · 20/12/2018 15:09

Yesterday's brush is a miss for me, dd has taken it to use to clean her keyboard and fans on her consoles though :)

Today's I will use. I wash my hair at night so blow dry every time I wash it, never used to style it that much other than run my ghd s through every now and then, from all the bottles of styling products I have you'd think I styled it all the time! I bought myself the dyson airwrap a month ago and now style my hair a lot more because it's so easy and takes the same time as blow drying so look forward to trying this.

FWIW I like reading every bodies views on the products, I like reading how women have made the items they don't like work, like using the gel boost as a hand cream. I've had my share of disappointments but expected that when I bought it, every product I love some one else will hate and vice versa. I'd rather read the truth than only positive stuff.

cuppycakey · 20/12/2018 15:11

I will use the brush, but not sure about another hair product. I would prefer something like a really good shampoo or conditioner than a styling product.

Anyway - I do agree with everyone/most that it's top bloody value and has made me smile every morning Xmas Smile

zucchinieggplant · 20/12/2018 16:19

Today's has been a hit for me; opened the box right before I was about to dry my hair so used it straight away. Hair felt really soft and smooth and has been noticeably less static-filled today, and I wore a woolly hat this morning which usually sends it mad.

Shitonthebloodything · 20/12/2018 16:41

Sorry I'm sure this has been covered but I've missed it. The weird gel stuff, does that go on under normal moisturizer, after serum if using? Instead of serum? Instead of moisturizer?

IToldYouIWasFreaky · 20/12/2018 16:57

I have been putting WGS under my usual moisturizer, like a serum. It does make my skin feel quite tight and even dry on application but that goes once moisturizer has been applied, and then my skin feels better than it would usually.

workshyfop · 20/12/2018 18:40

Can the hair stuff from today only be used if you’re blow drying? PPs seem to be saying that but I don’t know where they’re getting that from.

diamondsandrose · 20/12/2018 19:08

As the inventor of the £1.40 a day lucky dip AND the ponytail elasticiser jack I'll take a bow
PS I invented the phrase face footner too from last year GrinGrin

Looking forward to trying another hair thingy, what the heck

No total duds for me yet , everything useable in one way or another, nice to try random stuff
