Alas, I am back! And what an absolute joyeux noel it has been catching up with the advent calendar. Thank you Bo for putting it together, an real unexpected treat to come back to as I know you said it was unlikely with your busy schedule.
Red- your plane fiasco sounds grim, glad you are managing to find some positives in it all.
to good friends.
Flo- charity shop finds sound amazing, charity shops/Eva make up the vast majority of purchases now. When I happen to be in RL shops or occasionally looking on-line, I'm always somewhat gobsmacked at poor quality for £££.
I too am going to have a wardrobe sort, reducing my work hours to look after youngest son means I'm going to store vast majority of work clothes. I am actually looking forward to having more room in the wardrobe and being able to really focus on my more casual look (I always found world wear chic pretty easy).
Of the looks, I love the tonal looks of different shades of off-white/grey/blues. When these threads first started, I paired back my wardrobe quite a bit and tend to have (mostly) neutrals; the tone on tone look, I feel, really offers a way to play with a neutral wardrobe and create a distinctive look.
Also loved the trainers on the more senior ladies in the images, somehow they made the trainers seem more relaxed/effortlessly chic, whereas I felt those 20s-40s (as in RL) tend to just look like they are following the herd. Perhaps it is the same with most things, they look fresher on women 50+ as fewer seem to wear them.
I saw a woman (I'd guess late 60s) in a charity shop a few weeks ago and she was stunning, gorgeous jewel toned clothes, trainers and amazing hair, sort of 40s quiffed curl on top, dyed grey blonde and shaved all underneath. I had to tell her amazing she looked and she said she has her hair set like that every few weeks and doesn't touch it in between. Wish I could have taken a photo to share but that may have tipped me from admiring to creepy.
