Link to previous thread.

And once again, let's keep this good-spirited. Spiteful comments are about as welcome as Fergie at Prince Philip's birthday party!

Mette Marit must have lost a bet. She's always done the "Heidi From the Alps As A Haus Frau" look but that thing is taking it too far. It looks bloody flammable.

Meghan can cradle that bump as much as she likes, good for her.

GrumbleBumble · 11/12/2018 13:00

While it is bloody ridiculous that she can't just wear a coat and take it off inside I doubt it was -3 in London by mid morning. I walk a couple of 100 meters from the car park to the office without a coat most days (unless its raining) and don't freeze.

TipseyTorvey · 11/12/2018 13:02

Queen I thought those shoes were black but am on the mobile so can zoom with any clarity. I thinks its a nice safe ladylike dress yes but thanks to these fabulous threads I'm now aware there's a whole world of fabulous European royal dressing so i wish she'd funk up a teeny bit.

ElspethFlashman · 11/12/2018 13:06

Have you guys seen the boomerang video?

I really think that's stretching the role to the absolute limit, though others may differ. I am not a fan of it.

ViragoKnows · 11/12/2018 13:11

Boomerang video?

katekat383 · 11/12/2018 13:18

Doesn’t Kate look regal and elegant today? She is such a huge asset to the Royal Family.

katekat383 · 11/12/2018 13:20

Polka dots are very refined which explains why they suit Kate so well.

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 11/12/2018 13:21

Silentisla, is that you?! 😂

TheDistantSky · 11/12/2018 13:22

The shoes and bag don't go, and I'm not really a huge fan of polka dots but she looks very happy in the photos with the children.

TheDistantSky · 11/12/2018 13:23

@ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual 😂

CrookedMe · 11/12/2018 13:28

I love the fact that all you have to do is wear half-decent clothes paid for by other people to be considered a huge asset to the nation.

Spudlet · 11/12/2018 13:28

I'm going to need to know more about this boomerang video please!

Lol @ Itsnice

ElspethFlashman · 11/12/2018 13:29

I'm not gonna link to the DM, I'll see if I can link to the guys Instagram, where the original is:

QueenOfTheAndals · 11/12/2018 13:31

Of course it is @ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual and @TheDistantSky!

Both duchesses have their strengths and can be assets to the royal family. They're very different people with different life experiences and there's no need for them to be clones of each other.

Spudlet · 11/12/2018 13:37

I was expecting a more Antipodean theme there 😂😳 🇦🇺 I'm so down with the kids!

It will be more fuel to the Megan-hate fire no doubt, but she didn't take it or post it so 🤷‍♀️ Short of having someone on hand to tackle down anyone with a camera phone, I don't really see what she can do about that sort of thing.

ViragoKnows · 11/12/2018 13:37

ISWYM Elspeth. It’s like a long GIF- It’s hard to imagine Diana or HMQ in one.

ViragoKnows · 11/12/2018 13:38

TBF, spud she did pose for it.

QueenOfTheAndals · 11/12/2018 13:40

I guess she could've thought she was posing for a photo and not realised til too late that it was a boomerang. Still, it's hardly up there as the greatest of sins!

OP posts:
WipsGlitter · 11/12/2018 13:40

The bump posing is ridiculous. But she does look lovely.

BeverlyGoldberg · 11/12/2018 13:42

Some of the comments on Insta are savage. I hope Meghan isn't reading them.

Meanwhile here is Princess Mary being an absolute machine! Wearing heals in the snow, I salute you!

ViragoKnows · 11/12/2018 13:43

Just a bit jarring. But then Kate has played so very safe for so long, that this more “celeb” approach to the role stands out more by contrast. It’s not really surprising that an American actress comes over as quite American & actressey I suppose Grin

Puzzledandpissedoff · 11/12/2018 13:45

I loved Meghan's appearance at the awards and don't have a problem in general with "bump holding" ... I just wish she hadn't done it at the start of someone else's speech

As a PP said, she needs to learn that such events are more about honouring others and less about herself

Spudlet · 11/12/2018 13:48

Impressive heel wearing work from CP Mary there - and she was wearing A Coat, and removed it indoors 😱

Sorry, I seem to be morphing into my mother with this sudden coat obsession Blush I will be insisting everyone buttons up right to the neck and wears a scarf crossed over their chests for extra warmth, just you wait!
