And once again, let's keep this good-spirited. Spiteful comments are about as welcome as Fergie at Prince Philip's birthday party!

Madeleine got engaged to a Swedish lawyer called Jonas at almost the same time her sister Victoria got engaged. Then it emerged that Jonas had had a one night stand. She broke the engagement and fled to New York to work for her family charity. In NY she met Chris O'Neill. They married and now have 3 children. They are currently living in US and have also lived in London. He refused a title and stays a bit outside the whole royal circus.
She is exceptionally pretty and also looks like a nice person. Here is a picture of her dressing up in her tiara at a special tea party for some children in Sweden. And here she is as a bride. I am quite a fan.

I remember seeing photos of Madeleine and Chris' wedding and they looked so into each other that I thought it wouldn't be a surprised if they disappeared for a quickie between the ceremony and reception! Which they may have, as their first child was burn less than 9 months later!

I did read that the children need to be raised in Sweden and speak Swedish to maintain their Royal status. So it could be they lose their titles as adults. I suspect Madeleine is not bothered.i think it was said she is a full time mum and doesn’t gave a nanny.

She wore one of her mum's white dresses as a reception dress at her wedding too!

I’m a bit cynical about the timing of her visit to India TBH. She emailled the activist proposing to visit “a few months” after meeting her in April 06. When did she start dating Harry?

Masako doesn't look remotely 55 does she? I wonder if she'll have a higher profile after she becomes Empress? She's highly educated and the atmosphere at the Japanese court must feel so stifling for her, even after all these years.

Just rereading some old articles about Meghan’s charity work.
Sort of summarised here.
I don’t doubt her feminist credentials; the childhood letter to Proctor & Gamble about women doing the washing up.
However, I think Humanitarian is something I think she added to her repertoire when Harry came into her orbit, as pointed out by @ViragoKnows.
I think she has targeted her interests somewhat to dovetail with Harry’s and make them more relatable. It is a shame that she will no longer be supporting those pre marriage charities ( article in Evening Standard; now withdrawn).
So the cynic in me, does think she presented herself in a certain way to have more in common with Harry, hence the Indian and Rwandan visits. I do however think that having seen projects she has undertaken since her marriage such as the Hubb, she will ultimately bring her intelligence and her drive as a force for good for he charities she finally supports.

Her speech at the UN was in 2015, which was pre-Harry wasn't it? I haven't heard anything about her charitable patronages yet apart from the one Rebecca English mentioned last week. I can't remember what it was now but it did tie in with the work she used to do.

It looks from that article as though she seriously upped her charitable game around 2016, but she had a couple of charity commitments before that.

Yes the UN speech was pre-Harry and it was the proud woman & feminist quote. I'm not denying her feminist credentials, but as @ViragoKnows says, she really upped her charities once she had met Harry.
Who knows why; genuine interest when Harry talked about his charities or she realised that to have a long term chance with Harry she needed to show commitment to Humanitarainism. Probably a bit of both.

She should perhaps heed Michelle Obama's advice and take her time. Maybe she will only finally decide on what charities she is interested once the baby is born.
Interesting that Harry is doing visits on his own now. Is Meghan choosing to be out of the public eye, or is she being kept back.
Anyway, a low profile seems to be working, There are few muted stories about her, but the flurry seems to have died down.
