Re Princess Anne - I suspect she doesn't do all the mucking our, but she's pretty hands on AFAIK. I don't remember her having full-on horsewoman hands when I met her but to be fair, she was in a hall full of horsewomen, so they wouldn't have stood out! I think she has various rare breed livestock as well - pigs I think? There was a documentary that mentioned it a few years ago, does anyone remember it? And she has a rescue horse - called Annie!

UrsulaPandress · 29/11/2018 18:18

Anne used to tussle with the practice jumps in collecting rings when Zara was working her way up the eventing competitions.

Spudlet · 29/11/2018 18:21

She raced for a while too - there was an excellent anecdote about her in Clare Balding's autobiography. Can't look it up at the moment though as there's a poorly toddler sitting on me...

I think a lot of people, including royals, had shorter hair in Diana's day because that was the fashion. And the Queen has had short hair all her life.

Long hair is the fashion these days, but I think that Kate would look good with shorter hair. It's thick and has a lot of body like Diana's. It would need to be a style with movement, though. Not helmet hair.

The hun babe website reckons that George & Amal Clooney will be baby Sussex's godparents, as George's cousin reckons George has been telling everyone he is a shoo in to be a godparent.
Yeah right......

Bloominglovely · 29/11/2018 19:08

I MUCH prefer Kate’s hair shorter ie nearer her shoulders than longer ie nearer her waist. The ‘luscious’ locks are due to hair extensions. I know posters will now say there isn’t any evidence but even with her miracle hairdresser, there is too big a difference between her hair in her twenties and now.

DontCallMeCharlotte · 29/11/2018 19:14

I definitely prefer Kate's shorter look. Takes years off her and she looks very cute.

Eugenie last night celebrating the royal airforce turning 100. She looks lovely although I would love a full length shot but I'm a little confused these days I thought she wasn't a 'working' royal and so didn't do these kind of functions? Nice to be seeing some more of her though.

I would be the most watery Royal ever - I'm terrible for getting teary. No way could I get around a hospice visit or a children's ward trip without making my mascara run everywhere. Blush

PawneeParksDept · 29/11/2018 19:50

Lol! Love the title! God we RACED through that last thread

PawneeParksDept · 29/11/2018 19:53

Aaah I see thanks @ElspethFlashman it's not quite the same though that's why confusion !

Thank you though

Bloominlovely I agree re the hair extensions I also think Megan is no stranger to them.

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 29/11/2018 20:05

Gratuitous hair shot. Her hair is beautiful no way would I have a cute hair cut if my hair looked like this.

Eugenie and Beatrice doing these sort of functions is blurring the lines - they're definitely not working Royals, but I detect the hand of Andrew promoting them and ensuring they're in the public eye. Eug looks nice, I like her dress. My royal jewel mole tomorrow!!!

MrFMercury · 29/11/2018 20:19

DontCallMeCharlotte it was meant to be RF for royal family. I'm blaming predictive text Grin

WipsGlitter · 29/11/2018 20:23

@BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo that is probably my favourite dress of Kate's. It was stunning.

UrsulaPandress · 29/11/2018 20:33

Eugenie presented my DD with her gold DofE award at the Palace. Definitely part of a working royals job. It was meant to be Beatrice but she couldn’t make it.

Ktay · 29/11/2018 20:36

I love the Harvard sweatshirt look Betty, that was my fancy dress outfit for my P Diana-themed 40th (DH went as Will Carling).

PawneeParksDept · 29/11/2018 20:38

They do seem to throw the girls a bone here and there. I wonder, as I've said previously whether they'll come into there own in ten years, as the older generation begins to flag and the children are still too young.

AhoyDelBoy · 29/11/2018 20:42

Photos like these @Spudlet Smile she had great legs!

AhoyDelBoy · 29/11/2018 20:43

I see BettyBoo was already on it. Hadn’t quite got that far through the thread Grin

Spudlet · 29/11/2018 20:52

Apropos of nothing, I just remembered a Queen anecdote that I read many years ago on another forum. The poster in question used to stable their horse at Windsor. One day they were engaged in some stable-based task, when an indeterminate number of small yappy dogs entered the stable, causing a degree of equine consternation and associated tap-dancing.

Annoyed, our narrator turned the air blue with a firmly worded request to get those dogs OUT NOW. At which, there was a terribly well-spoken apology, and guess whose head popped around the door to remove her dogs....! Shock

Apparently HM didn't seem to mind and evidently the poster survived to make it to the Horse and Hound forum, but bloody hell - can you imagine?! Blush

AhoyDelBoy · 29/11/2018 20:55

Can someone kindly repost the Diana photos link?

AhoyDelBoy · 29/11/2018 20:59

Now THIS is HAIR! 😍
