Work shoes: would I be committing a style crime if I purchased?

Returned to work recently after 9 year SAHM

It’s a fairly senior corporate London role.

I’m 37 and have a good work wardrobe. Mainly Reiss and Jospeh and Sandro

BUT shoes!!! Ten years ago I wore them high and dodo not give a damn if uncomfortable. My shoe collection was nothing short of exquisite.

Now? Hmmmm I’m err more on side on comfort when comes to shoes. I’ve not completely lost my commitment to show style though.

Would either of these be a disgrace?

If yes, please point me in direction of some comfort and mid heel height black work shoes. They can’t be high heel.

No way. She is not stylish

Housewife2010 · 27/11/2018 19:32

Poucho Honestly you haven't seen her.She is well known for being achingly cool.

@Fashionista101

Thanks but I have to say that my 84 year old aunt wore that exact pair of shoes last weekend Grin

Don’t tick the sensible box in the slightest. But will look fab for couple of after work Christmas dos

I am cool (!) and I wear hotter (sometimes)

It's about the juxtaposition hence why courts + skirt suit = uncool

I personally like those missfliss ones the most, quite headmistressy but in a good way

I had a thread in Style and Beauty a couple of days ago looking for comfortable but smart black shoes.
Somebody mentioned Gabor and there are 3 possibilities : Gabor Splendid
Gabor Orianna
Gabor Tricky

Sorry I can't do links.
I hate ankle straps as they make most women's legs ugly.
Except Meghan Markle whose legs are so skinny she can get away with them.

LoniceraJaponica · 27/11/2018 20:51

I like those shoes as well fringe

beanaseireann · 27/11/2018 20:58

The Dune wedges a poster wrote about might be Alixxe

RayofSun · 27/11/2018 21:12

OP, I have the Anne Klein shoes. They are super comfy and also have the same shoe style but in a nude with a bronze band across the front. Would definitely recommend both pairs. I got mine form House of Fraser (!)

Crocky · 27/11/2018 21:33

Workreturner those boots are gorgeous!

shearwater · 27/11/2018 21:39

Lots of fashionable flat shoes about

Except that very flat shoes are really uncomfortable for lots of people.

beanaseireann · 28/11/2018 18:51

shearwater. I can't wear flat shoes as my arches aren't great.
I love pretty ballet flats but I can't wear them.
Skechers are too flat for me.

missfliss · 28/11/2018 19:41

Me too. Totally flat shoes are a no for me, a slight heel is far more comfortable. Can't do high heels so low / mid heels all the way

LKB has so many good block heel options
These are so comfy & look smart

LoniceraJaponica · 28/11/2018 21:17

I really like those shoes baby
