So I ordered 2 new dresses for my work Christmas party both arrived this morning.

If I chose the pink one I would have to get some of those short style spanks as I am aware you can see my knicker style spanks chopping my thighs off!

Please excuse my slatten like mirror Blush

You are very pretty and have a great figure, but I don't think either dress is flattering. Pink too small, black too big. I think you'd be better with some sleeves, something that is a bit floatier and a short skirt to show off your fab legs.

Whatever you wear, you'll look incredible though!

PlainVanilla · 24/11/2018 23:13

I don't like either dress. Neither flatters you.
What about a long tunic with long sleeves over a pair of smart trousers?

FrowningFlamingo · 25/11/2018 07:03

Are they both ASOS own brand? I find their sizing utterly random - I have dresss from a ten to sixteen that all fit me!

I think you've made the right decision to keep black as back up but try some more. Neither look awful by any means but as a PP said I don't think they do you justice. Good luck with the search!

sashh · 25/11/2018 07:44

The pink one but as you said you need to have the right underwear, above the waist it is very flattering and your legs look great.

I think the black one makes you look shorter.

CryptoFascist · 25/11/2018 07:50

To be honest neither of them. I think with your nice figure you could do a lot better, something with a slight A-line and more fitted on the top, maybe with a Bardot neckline to show off your shoulders.

zippyswife · 25/11/2018 08:32

You have a killer figure. The back is a bit baggy though on the back which is a shame as the front is stunning. I’d love to look that great in either dress!! Have a great night.

DianaT1969 · 25/11/2018 10:52

I would keep looking OP. You have a good figure but the pink one isn't flattering and the propotions of the black one are a bit off - it doesn't enhance your figure (not keen on the thin straps for you). Keep looking!

LoniceraJaponica · 25/11/2018 11:11

I don't understand why some posters don't like the thin straps. You have shoulders and boobs that I envy. Thin straps suit you.

Haircutdilemma · 25/11/2018 13:13

Well I have been and tried on another 12 dresses and didn't like any of them.

Got a couple more from ASOS that I am going to order but it looks like it's gonna be the black one. Maybe in a size down.

OP posts:
Tippexy · 25/11/2018 13:41

The black one fits in that current size; the size down would be too tight.

CrossedToTheDarkSide · 25/11/2018 16:13

Black one! It's gorgeous and I would say more fancy for a Christmas do. The other one definitely looks more girls night out to me, but both look amazing!

Snog · 25/11/2018 22:22

Pink definitely

fashiondevotee · 25/11/2018 22:28

Yeah, they look a bit cheap and do nothing for you, OP. You could do waaaay better than these dresses.

bitofabelly · 26/11/2018 07:24

Love the colour of the pink but the black is more flattering and the straps are lovely. I'm not sure you need to size down..just pop to a seamstress to nip and fix the back a little.

Sleephead1 · 26/11/2018 07:37

I think the black is more flattering on the tummy but is it a bit big could you try the size down it just looks a bit big in places

PouchofDouglas · 26/11/2018 07:47

The pink one is too small.

PouchofDouglas · 26/11/2018 07:48

A LONG TUNIC? Ffs

YouCouldBeMe · 26/11/2018 07:57

No 1. I don't like the bottom of no 2 as it's an odd length

JaneJeffer · 26/11/2018 08:25

This dress would be lovely on you.

I can't tell if this is sarcasm or not!

Immigrantsong · 26/11/2018 09:58

@janejeffer that dress is even worse. Cheap looking and will accentuate the OP's belly which she said she isn't keen on. OP you need something A line, flared and skimming over the belly.

JaneJeffer · 26/11/2018 10:08

I disagree.

LoniceraJaponica · 26/11/2018 10:32

That third dress is very unforgiving IMO.

californiascreaming · 26/11/2018 10:33

I think that the reason its difficult is that neither are right. I saw the pink one and gut reaction was no, then I saw black and didn't like that because I don't think it fits well and is a bit 'safe' and you don't look like a 'safe' kind of person - could wear something more fun for a party.
Agree - try on some others!!!

I totally agree.

Warehouse have some great sparkly party dresses at the moment.
