I've bought the cookbook Blush. It'll inspired me on winter weekends.
I'd rather buy that than spend it on a mega chef cookbook who already has millions in the bank.

Ha Queen!
There was an interesting story from Albert & Charlene's engagement shot that her ring had been photoshopped to make it look larger than it actually was.

californiascreaming · 23/11/2018 13:17

I love that ocean tiara - it's different but still nice and being.
The foam one is just a bit of a hair accessory - it's not a tiara!!!
I've just had a thought - are these tiara's copied and sold as costume pieces made with paste so you could have a replica lover's knot or the spencer tiara for example or are they subject to copyright like designer gowns? Anyone know? X

Want2bSupermum · 23/11/2018 13:55

It's thanksgiving weekend here. I took the family to my office to watch the parade yesterday as my office overlooks 6th Ave. I took a different route and saw a pop up shop called 'What Meghan Wore'. It's all replica outfits. I don't think it will remain open because they are so strict about counterfeiting. It's a great concept though.

California in the Georgette Heyer novels (which I highly recommend if you like a romantic romp) the ladies are always getting into scrapes and taking their jewellery to be copied in paste so they can pawn the real things for cash. (Though never the heirlooms, because that wouldn't be the done thing.)

I know it's not real life Sad but her research is meticulous so I totally believe copies can be made.

beanaseireann · 23/11/2018 14:45

What Duke sat on a tiara ?
Hadn't Lee Radziwill the most amazing cheekbones.
She was very beautiful.
Both sisters had amazing lives.
I read an autobiography by Lee's daughter in law.

YearOfYouRemember · 23/11/2018 15:30

Apologies for duplication if already posted but don't want to forget if I wait to read all 82 posts first. Catherines alterations

VanillaSugary · 23/11/2018 15:43

I think the Greek royal family had their jewels copied and sold as they were all strapped for cash, apparently.

VanillaSugary · 23/11/2018 15:47

That's a lovely photo of Wallis Simpson queen.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 23/11/2018 15:48

Glad to see the new thread ... placemarking to catch up later

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 23/11/2018 16:31

@yearofyouremember
Those Catherine alterations are fascinating.
I bet she doesn’t get charged!

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 23/11/2018 16:34

This thread is being widely read!
Now Mathilde is getting on on the Big Hat action

Speaking of Lee Radziwell, here's an image of her wearing earrings that remind me of the ones Max was wearing in that photo posted towards the end of last thread.

Lee Radziwill looks amazing

CrookedMe · 23/11/2018 17:29

Wow, what a beautiful woman!

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 23/11/2018 17:49

Stella McCartney has done a Bridal Collection

There is a version of Meghan’s evening gown, and a I could see at least a couple reworked as evening dresses. (Caroline of Monaco wore the caped dress in a red version last week)

Just avert your eyes from the fully lace catsuit. A «brave» choice

DontCallMeCharlotte · 23/11/2018 17:50

Checking in Ma'am (to rhyme with jam).

QueenOfTheAndals · 23/11/2018 17:59

The Mail's pearl-clutching makes me laugh - "the original design is far too short for a royal" and I scroll further expecting a micro mini but the dress is only a couple of inches above the knee!

Someone earlier said her DDs friends has been wearing earrings like curtain tie backs for a while. Fab photo.

RosinaAlmaviva · 23/11/2018 18:15

A foam tiara sounds like something you'd buy in Claire's.

"Reversible sequin unicorn foam tiara" or some such.

in the Georgette Heyer novels (which I highly recommend if you like a romantic romp) the ladies are always getting into scrapes and taking their jewellery to be copied in paste so they can pawn the real things for cash.

IIRC Krystle Carrington did this in an early season of Dynasty. The original not the reboot.

QueenOfTheAndals · 23/11/2018 18:17

Not a fan of Mathilde's hat. Doesn't go with her outfit and she hasn't got the big personality to carry it off.

Checking in. 👑

YearOfYouRemember · 23/11/2018 18:28

Thank you Curly for noticing my post and acknowledging it. I feel included now Grin.

Spudlet · 23/11/2018 18:31

I just read that alterations link - very interesting.

As well as making sure her clothes fit the Daily Mail Royal family dress code, they also make sure she's not going to rock up in an identical dress to someone else at an event, which must be a secondary advantage. Actually, I prefer her altered grey Erdem dress to the original. Not sure why the grey coat needed to be altered though (unless it was just for her personal taste, which is fair enough).

SeaRabbit · 23/11/2018 18:46

Someone posted upthread that the Grand Duke of Luxembourg looks like Richard Chamberlain and he does, usually. But sometimes he looks worryingly like Nigel Farage:

royalhats.net/2018/05/23/dutch-state-visit-to-luxembourg-day-1/

I just love the way Maxíma puts colours together. That hat's colour looks fab with that chartreuse though I agree with the blog that straw would have been better than felt with that outfit.
