Those trouser suits look like they're from Ethel Austin!

My eyes.

halfwitpicker · 28/11/2018 12:48

Fergie looks like a Quality Street in that tinsel green horror. Shame because she's a stunning woman.

Horsemad · 28/11/2018 12:48

🤣🤣🤣 @ Ethel Austin - there's a blast from the past! 😁

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 28/11/2018 12:59

@Queen
Tsk the DM stealing ideas. What a surprise !
Anyway I am in London today and heading for KP to see Diana's dresses. Will report back if I see anything interesting !

QueenOfTheAndals · 28/11/2018 13:02

Ethel Austin is before my time but I googled and could only find endless pictures of shop fronts!

Pics please Curly!

The leaks are bloody endless now!
Harry 'fell out' with William as he 'wasn't making effort with Meghan'

KP must be going apeshit

QueenOfTheAndals · 28/11/2018 13:09

Kate is wearing a grey coatdress and ponytail in Leicester today. I'm not sure if it's one she's sported before or not as she has so many! But she looks appropriately sombre.

QueenOfTheAndals · 28/11/2018 13:12

I wasn't around back then, but I wonder if the tabloids in the 60s cared as much about Prince Philip and Snowden being friends? Or is it just SiLs who are supposed to be BFFs?

OP posts:
Paradyning · 28/11/2018 13:13

She does look 'appropriate'. She's great at that. But Why a ribbon in hair again. Does she want to match Charlotte?

CrookedMe · 28/11/2018 13:18

It must be very odd getting sent around the country to publicly mourn people you've never heard of Confused

QueenOfTheAndals · 28/11/2018 13:24

Have fun @CurlyWurlyTwirly! When I went, what struck me about Diana's dresses was how dated they looked compared to HM and PM's 50s gowns. But I guess that's the nature of fashion, maybe in 50 years time we won't think that about 80s styles.

I posted on a previous thread about DofS and her rocky start. The men in grey suits are the people who run the RF. They have been doing it for decades and quite frankly they don't need someone who just arrived from a foreign country which isn't even a commonwealth one telling them what to do. The men in grey suits tell her what to do and if she understood the culture and PH wasn't so arrogant he would have told his future wife about how things work and how she should best navigate this.

It has absolutely nothing to do with her skin colour but with her arrogance that she knows better than someone who is an expert. She doesn't and yes she pissed off a lot of people including the press. That's what happens when you figuratively snap your fingers at someone who is trying to help you. If she wasn't pregnant the press would be a lot worse.

DontCallMeCharlotte · 28/11/2018 13:25

GrumbleBumble You're absolutely right.

I think - no, I can't defend it really - I just thought the make up was too heavy and she looked very severe in that picture. She was wearing my Resting Bitch Face Grin.

I guess I'm a bit sensitive about it all at the moment (although even if I had a million pounds, I still wouldn't have any "work" done because I'm a big coward). But I shouldn't project that on to someone who should be admired for staying true to herself.

Funny, when I was younger I was often compared with her - red hair (albeit out of a bottle!), curvy and a bit posh sounding. I was always Team Fergie!

TipseyTorvey · 28/11/2018 13:28

Kate's coat is so form fitting that I have a stupid question. Does she wear a thin dress underneath or is that in effect her 'dress'. Wouldn't it be hot for indoors?

QueenOfTheAndals · 28/11/2018 13:29

I do love Fergie's plummy tones!

Envy Curly, enjoy! And yes pictures please if you’re allowed to take them!

AhoyDelBoy · 28/11/2018 13:37

What looks like a very moving moment at today’s engagement. They had a friend killed according to the link.

Parker231 · 28/11/2018 13:38

Spudlet - I agree with your comments. None of us know anything about what has and hasn’t been said between members of the RF. If there isn’t any legitimate news, they will create something.

I’ve no time for the majority of the RF but I do love fashion - William needs to buckle down and up his number of engagements and Kate, imo, is a waste of space; never had a job and now a clothes horse. I have high hopes of Megan bringing the RF into the current century and I love her clothes!

AhoyDelBoy · 28/11/2018 13:40

A closer shot
I like Kate’s coatdress. I think the consensus was on an earlier thread that a coatdress is a dress. So no dress underneath just a slip or something perhaps.

AhoyDelBoy · 28/11/2018 13:43

Maybe this isn’t the thread for you then Parker231. It’s pretty lighthearted. We’re certainly not calling either of the Duchesses a waste of space. Save that for AIBU if you must.

SenecaFalls · 28/11/2018 13:43

But I guess that's the nature of fashion, maybe in 50 years time we won't think that about 80s styles.

I doubt it. The 80s really have a lot to answer for, in terms of fashion. I'm not sure that look can ever be rehabilitated. Smile

AhoyDelBoy · 28/11/2018 13:49

Maybe for fancy dress parties Seneca that’s about it!

ajandjjmum · 28/11/2018 13:53

Apparently Kate's outfit is a re-wear - she last wore it to Church in August.

I think she looks lovely for the occasion.

megletthesecond · 28/11/2018 13:54

Excellent shoulders on the DofC's coatdress today. I do like a sharp shoulder.

PennyMordauntsLadyBrain · 28/11/2018 13:56

I quite like her hair today, she definitely suits it off her face.

When she first did the ribbon thing last week it looked a bit flat- it’s miles better with a bit of volume.

Really like her shoes as well, those blocky heels really suit her and look much more comfortable than those Lk Bennett court shoes.
