Harry will become less significant as George, Charlotte & Louis get older. He’ll eventually become like Andrew. I hope he’s learning lessons fast!

TSSDNCOP · 25/11/2018 10:03

The papers are absolutely dying for a story that “proves” there is a wedge coming between the brothers. They’ve got nothing to go in except a few resignations and a move to a bigger house outside London, which is exactly what The Wales did with Anmer.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 25/11/2018 10:05

@ahoydelboy

Thanks for that Instagram link of Diana
She was so vibrant. However in my view, no one captured her beauty as well as Mario Testino. Those photos look completely contemporary even 20+ years later.

Additionally to my post it has got to hurt Meghan deeply, that Catherine's family have always behaved IMPECCABLY and are very much in the inner circle, whereas she can't even telephone her father for fear he'll sell it to Piers bloody Morgan or the Daily Mail. The amount of apologising for him and tears she must've gone through.

californiascreaming · 25/11/2018 10:08

I love seeing the frocks on these threads.
It's interesting that on the quiet days some of the info that people are finding - love love the jewel and tiara blogs!!
The other stuff actually is making me think more and more about the royals and whereas in the past i didn't think and just automatically supported their existence I'm starting to be more critical which I didn'the expect....

WipsGlitter · 25/11/2018 10:10

The thing about Diana was she had short hair! So much of today's "look" is based around having long, swishy hair! She was a very striking looking woman. I think she wore low shoes so she wasn't taller than Charles.

QueenOfTheAndals · 25/11/2018 10:13

@IPromiseIWontBeNaughty To be fair, Harry is nothing like his uncle! He seems to have found a few causes he genuinely cares about and he and Meghan will probably continue to pursue them, hopefully to good effect.

He'll be a pretty important royal for a while though, considering there's about 20 years to go before William's children are old enough to carry out duties by themselves. Plus the Kents and Gloucesters etc are all in their 70s and 80s, so there's going to be a lot of organisations that'll find themselves without a patron in the coming years.

Re: finances - HM never paid taxes on any source of income. Then in 1992, Windsor Castle burnt down and all the repairs and renovations, including for private apartments came from the taxpayer. The resulting outcry mean that the Queen and others agreed to pay tax. They opened BP to the public to cover costs. However, some MPs remain concerned about where the money goes from the ticket prices now that Windsor Castle is complete. Especially as we are now paying for the upgrade of BP and other properties.

QueenOfTheAndals · 25/11/2018 10:15

@CurlyWurlyTwirly I totally agree, those Testino shots were stunning and the best photos ever taken of Diana.

@tssdncop

Completely agree. The newspapers are just desperate for a story, any story . The DM is absolutely gunning for her re: the move to Frogmore. Kate & William stayed at Anmer till George started school.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Meghan and Harry just stay put in Windsor. There must be loads of excellent primaries there and Eton and St Mary’s Ascot ( where Beatrice went) are 10 minutes away.

If I had my own driver and a weekend retreat in the Cotswolds, Windsor over Central London is a no brainer. The Queen is very fond of Harry remember for the Invictus games.?

I bet she would love to have her grandson and latest great grandchild so close by.

PawneeParksDept · 25/11/2018 10:22

I really don't think Harry's children will go to Eton

He's made no secret that he hated it there

In fact, I'm sure Diana said they weren't sending him as it wasn't the right school for him. I suspect that both Eton and his prep advised them as much.

Then she died

And I think a place was offered then as it was considered in his best interest to keep him with Will

TSSDNCOP · 25/11/2018 10:24

Love the Hail To The Chief ring tone.

The Fail and others will implode at this rate. I’d absolutely love to see a shot of the Duchesses having a pedicure together.

The papers never learn that the real A listers know exactly what situations will be the “money shot” and know never to give it unless it suits them.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 25/11/2018 10:24

FASCINATING interview with

Their body language is fascinating to watch. It’s like a real life episode of The Crown

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 25/11/2018 10:26

Yes there was talk at the time of sending Harry to Radley. ( I’d never heard of it).

user1457017537 · 25/11/2018 10:27

I would probably prefer Kensington Palace to Frogmore if I was being honest. How will they get around in the traffic or will they just jump in a helicopter to get into town. Still they probably spend very little time at home anyway.

PawneeParksDept · 25/11/2018 10:28

Posh people with less academically able boys are usually told Uppingham or Radley, yes.

Gordonstoun would've also been a great fit for Harry compared to Charles

PawneeParksDept · 25/11/2018 10:31

I wonder, if Charles and Cam don't move to BP if they'll just open it year round for the tourism

AhoyDelBoy · 25/11/2018 10:36

I totally agree, those Testino shots were stunning and the best photos ever taken of Diana.

Also agree. Truely beautiful and iconic shots.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 25/11/2018 10:39

Wedding of the Duke of Kent to is Katharine Worsley in the
The Queen and Princess Margaret look beautiful.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 25/11/2018 10:43

I think with small school age children; Kate & William spend a lot of time at KP.
However every holiday and half term, they are at Anmer.

Likewise, Meghan and Harry will spend weekends in the Cotswolds, she has all of her soho hous crowd there. Also Harry probably has friends in Gloucestershire.

Quantumblue · 25/11/2018 10:46

That Wallis and David video is amazing. He is so weirdly familiar and like Prince Charles.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 25/11/2018 10:46

The Beckham live in Great Tew too. It is quite the celebrity weekend hang out.

Royal style & gossip: from maximum Maxima to minimalist Meghan
TracyBeakerSoYeah · 25/11/2018 10:58

I think Meghan looks so like Wallis.
And agree with Quantum that David is so like Charles in his mannerisms.
I think Wallis took all the flak & was treated rather shabbily.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 25/11/2018 11:15

If (Meghan) is taking the money I would consider that a very smart move. It's basically the only way she can build up a rainy day runaway fund

You're not alone in getting tired of the silly articles, but not sure I can go along with the above

If MM ever decided to leave and return to the US, she would - at least for a while - be offered the kind of money to "tell all" which could mean she'd never have to work again

PawneeParksDept · 25/11/2018 11:20

Whilst Wallis did take a load of flak, people forget that at the time, it was massively scandalous, and basically made you unfit for polite society.

They ended up close friends with the Mosleys who were similar pariahs for similar reasons - also adulterers also Nazi sympathisers
