Christmas Party dress help!

traceyturnblatt · 11/11/2018 14:13

I'm not long back to work after maternity leave and have a Christmas party night this year. I'm completely dreading it. I've had two children in the past three years and my stomach is horrible. I also don't like my upper arms. I like my legs though so that's something I guess.

I know it's next month but I really like the team I work with and want to go out with them but want to look good too! I haven't been out properly in years without a baby attached for me and want to enjoy my night off.

I'm a size 14, smallish busy and 5'7''. I'm a peely-wally Scot with dark hair and normally wear black.

Any advice on wear to look or suggestions?

They are lovely Zoolaa do you have them?

zolaaa · 16/11/2018 22:12

Yes...very comfy and perfect height for me (I don’t do really high heels!)

LurkYouLongtime · 16/11/2018 23:32

I have those wedge boots in grey and wear them constantly. They are comfy and go with everything.

I'm not brave enough to post me in my Becca dresses. I've ordered a different phase eight so when that arrives I might do a comparison photo and see what you think.

Have drunk my weekly calories in prosecco this evening Blush but from tomorrow I'm on a very strict diet until my Christmas party!

traceyturnblatt · 17/11/2018 07:35

@bitofabelly @zolaaa those boots look brilliant. I'm not a heel girl anymore since having my kids but my boots are so comfy I don't feel like I'm wearing heels.

@LurkYouLongtime A night of prosecco sounds great! Did you order the other phase eight dress with the sparkly skirt?

Definitely the becca our of all so far! Dress up with killer necklace for night out. I love them but always size up! X

slithytove · 17/11/2018 08:46

Becca wins
Which one is it

bitofabelly · 17/11/2018 09:09

I'm loving all of these..the red is gorgeous on you too...if you could detail or link to them! Super figure in them

bitofabelly · 17/11/2018 09:15

Looking back over photos...the Becca and Red Lipsy are my favourites...most flattering on you. Take a look at the jumpsuit picture to see the transformation!

LurkYouLongtime · 17/11/2018 09:23

I've ordered the phase eight with the sparkly skirt, yeah. When it arrives I'll choose between that and the rainbow Becca, same as yours OP. It looks fab on you!

I've now spent over £500 on phase eight dresses Shock so definitely need to return the ones I'm not sold on!

Wore a hush Tina dress last night, it's plain knit but I wore sparkly tights. Think it looked ok.

Elledorado · 17/11/2018 09:45

Has anyone come across a dress which is the same style as the Becca (or the Hush version) but longer - as in knee length? Sorry for the derail OP but I love this style of dress but my thighs arent the greatest.

BitOutOfPractice · 17/11/2018 12:36

The becca is the winner for me too op. It makes your bottom look lovely. I realise that makes me sound like a pervy weirdo!

LurkYouLongtime · 17/11/2018 13:42

How tall are you Elledorado? I'm 5ft3in and find the Becca short (mid-thigh) and the Hush longer (about an inch above my knees)

Cocobana · 17/11/2018 15:25

@traceyturnblatt you look lovely in both and so lovely and slim, I dont know how you’re going to decide!?! Maybe keep all!

@LurkYouLongtime @bitofabelly thanks guys, it's been so long since I've worn a dress I don't know what looks good anymore or what my shape looks like snow ( spend my life in jeans and hoodies)

Can't wait to see what the dress looks like @Lurk

traceyturnblatt · 17/11/2018 15:54

@BitOutOfPractice 😂😂 this dress is magic! I barely have a butt!

@Cocobana I can't keep them all sadly, I need to eat and so do my kids! Or do they? WinkGrin

@SimplyPut thanks a lot! Smile

Here's my next question though! Any advice on necklaces and should I just wear the tights and boots?

OP posts:
traceyturnblatt · 17/11/2018 15:58

@Elledorado the becca dress is longer, I'm 5'7'' and have the shortest body in the land- seriously I'm a spud with legs so it might be longer on you? There's w lot of fabric to play with.

Also the glitter wrap dress is now back in the bag, never to be reopened, there's glitter EVERYWHERE!

traceyturnblatt · 17/11/2018 15:59

@LurkYouLongtime could you link the hush dress? The idea of a plain dress and sparkly tights is brilliant! Bet you looked ace!

bitofabelly · 17/11/2018 16:53

In terms of the becca dress..less is more...maybe try Parfois or Oasis for some earrings...it doesn't need much...but I'm usually much more into statement earrings.

bitofabelly · 17/11/2018 17:02

These are fab, I have them in gold, but it's a Matt gold and the shape is really cool, not just a hoop...if in Parfois, check them out, I felt they were very classy but still eye catching. I think the model on the phase eight website was wearing hoops too...

traceyturnblatt · 17/11/2018 17:07

@bitofabelly sadly I've let my piercings close so would have to get clip ons (do they even do them anymore or would I look completely like Bet Lynch?)
