Christmas Party dress help!

I'm not long back to work after maternity leave and have a Christmas party night this year. I'm completely dreading it. I've had two children in the past three years and my stomach is horrible. I also don't like my upper arms. I like my legs though so that's something I guess.

I know it's next month but I really like the team I work with and want to go out with them but want to look good too! I haven't been out properly in years without a baby attached for me and want to enjoy my night off.

I'm a size 14, smallish busy and 5'7''. I'm a peely-wally Scot with dark hair and normally wear black.

Any advice on wear to look or suggestions?

Not sure if its been mentioned. But maybe a kimono dress. If you type that into asos loads should come. This will cover arms, nip in at waist and show off legs without clinging to your stomach.

Don't like the jumpsuit print but your figure looks great in it.

I'm currently on mat leave too. I think I only have a stone to lose but saw a picture of myself and it looks like way more. So am gonna read this thread for party inspiration too.

Liking the kimono idea!

My problem is that I'm very particular and I don't want to look (what I perceive as) 'mumsy'. I should probably get over myself seeing as I'm 37 on Friday and have two children but I just don't like those things on me!

I'm going to have send you all a bill - I've just bought two becca dresses and another and will be wanting your opinion!

@cremedesudo I don't think some of those kimonos look mumsy. Maybe I'm deluded.

OP I've just been browsing in Debenams and there's lots of wrap style dresses with long floaty sleeves/v necks - does that style sound interesting? Will try and post a link or two when I get home..

I ordered two or three hundred styles yesterday so hoping one of them hits the nail on the head @Cocobana .

I'd love to wear something like that but sadly have neither the body or confidence for it.
