caterpuller · 12/11/2018 19:31

Does anyone know if Hush do a Black Friday sale?

Ellapaella · 12/11/2018 19:37

@Huffthepuff yes I think medium will be fine for you.

Ellapaella · 12/11/2018 19:38

Ooh yes it's 15% - it's my stupid phone autocorrecting as I will have previously put a 25 somewhere. Sorry folks.

Alwaysasparklymoment99 · 12/11/2018 19:45

What were you reading that made you wobble always?

@Laska cause you asked:

An article in the guardian that basically said that the only people that look good in leather leggings are the young and slim and that older folk are seduced by the models in a bid to look like them. However the only ones that can afford it are basically the older ones that have less than perfect bodies that think the leather leggings are going to make them look like the models!

dontcallmelen · 12/11/2018 19:49

Ella thanks ordered the leggings & the blush top.

dontcallmelen · 12/11/2018 19:57

Aww Always someone just spouting spiteful piffle, you really rocked those trousers.💐

dontcallmelen · 12/11/2018 19:59

Laska meant to say those boots you posted a pic of earlier are fab.
Just catching up with thread, went to a party on Saturday & had a rhubarb gin induced hangover yesterday 🤢

Laska3Meryl · 12/11/2018 20:01

always FFS look at Chrissie (rock goddess) I love she’s let herself go gray and wrinkly and she’d totally agree with me!Wink

ilovecherries · 12/11/2018 20:07

Just popping in from London. always, there will always be some mysoginist dick (male or female) that want to keep older women in their place. I thought you looked great in them.

Ellapaella · 12/11/2018 20:11

@Alwaysasparklymoment99 here is a Guardian article speaking quite favourably of leather leggings Linky
Honestly please don't worry about that ageist bollocks about leather leggings - it all depends on how you wear them not how old or young you are. You have a fabulous figure and look great in yours and you've styled them perfectly in your photos.
In my personal opinion the most stylish people I know are 'older' (not that over 25 is 'old' as the media would have us believe)- women in their 40's + who have developed a well perfected sense of style and learnt what suits them and how to dress to flatter their figures.

Ellapaella · 12/11/2018 20:36

@Huffthepuff I had to google FOMO 😳Blush
My teenage son would be rolling his eyes at me in disdain!Grin

Huffthepuff · 12/11/2018 20:44

😂 ha! It's the bane of my life Ella. I saw you all talking about leggings yesterday and tried to be strong and not get involved or reread to find the link but this evening it got too much and I had to join in! I was almost hyperventilating by the time I opened the link and realised they were actually affordable

Huffthepuff · 12/11/2018 20:52

I liked that Guardian article too. The idea of layering with a thin fabric then chunky knit over the top. Might try them with a white long line top then H&M Meryl dupe over the top. Or the gorgeous poncho from Pure that I'm now too scared to wear as it will get covered in baby ming within 30 seconds. I certainly do not have the thighs to wear them with anything shorter

Huffthepuff · 12/11/2018 20:59

What boots/shoes will you all wear with the various leather/faux leather trousers? I'd assume biker boots as we all seem to share a love of those but I worry I'll look like I'm trying to channel lisbeth salander. Is it ok though as she wouldn't wear them with chunky knitwear?

dontcallmelen · 12/11/2018 21:01

I was just wondering the same thing huff I have some nice black loafers from R&B but don’t have any black boots😫

Huffthepuff · 12/11/2018 21:07

Oh yes loafers could look great actually. But cold ankles soon I fear. I'm already at the stage where I live in my black Uggs. Like wearing slippers 🤤
Do you have any other boots or do you NEED some black ones? Enabling opportunity

dontcallmelen · 12/11/2018 21:16

huff no black boots, so I’m thinking I really need some now, haven’t had much luck sent loads back & gifted my dd a pair, looking for some that aren’t to clumpy with laces or adjustable buckles, as I have very twiggy legs & so far everything I have tried makes me look like a golfclub, also have small feet (2.5) so currently perusing kids ones.

Ellapaella · 12/11/2018 21:39

@Huffthepuff I think trainers or loafers.
I have worn with heels for a night out but only with a more casual long line jersey top.
Chunky knits are the way forward. Also the Hush wife jersey too will look fab.

Ellapaella · 12/11/2018 21:39

And biker boots would work I think.
