Laska3Meryl · 11/11/2018 19:29

Ella!! I noticed that also , was surprised , so I ordered them in both M reg and L reg .. (I would normally go for M in most brands and possibly S in Hush!

If I win the lottery @Laska3Meryl I'll buy a pair for you too!😉
I love those boots you've linked - I have to confess that I am an UGG/Sheepy type boot fan. I love mine. They are just the cosiest thing ever invented and perfect for camping trips. I wouldn't have survived this summer in our camper van without them..

TheFormidableMrsC · 11/11/2018 19:37

Talking of leggings, I had the Hush leopard leggings on pre-order and they finally arrived last week. I was really disappointed which surprised me as I love my leopard Amies. They just didn't look right. An M&S voucher bought me their version for 12 quid and they are superb! So I'm returning the Hush version.

Brummiegirl15 · 11/11/2018 19:37

Ella I'm a size 14 and I've got the large and they fit perfectly. All my MV leggings are large and are a great fit.

MrsC. I've got ruched zipped bottom ones too, wear them to death

Ellapaella · 11/11/2018 19:42

@TheFormidableMrsC I have the M&S ones and they are brilliant. I wear them loads.
@Brummiegirl15 thanks! I'm feeling confident that a medium will be right for me now, I'm a fairly standard 10 in most shops but am a bit between sizes with MV trousers - 10 is too tight and 12 too loose around the waist so I'm hoping Medium will be a good fit.

Laska3Meryl · 11/11/2018 19:52

Ella its a deal! And ill do the same for you! (I mean they are not even 3Meryls£! Grin)

twosoups1972 · 11/11/2018 20:24

@missbobbins I am looking for similar boots.

I posted in another thread about these beauties:

www.russellandbromley.co.uk/ankle-boots/dynamo/invt/373094

Some very kind MNers have suggested some cheaper alternatives for me but they don't cut it like these R&B ones do.

Ellapaella · 11/11/2018 20:38

@Laska3Meryl I love that skirt.
I was looking back at some family photos last week when I was staying with my parents. There is a photo of my mum taken about 19 years ago and she's wearing the most divine leopard print maxi skirt!
I was very excited thinking she may still have it and I could pinch it but alas she had given it to a charity shop many moons ago.
It's funny how fashions come and go.. here on Mumsnet lots of posters turned their noses up at leopard print but in fact it hasn't always been 'Bet Lynch' - my mum is about as far away from Bet as you could get.
It's the velvet that's making me lament on this.. Velvet was very 'in' when I was in my early 20's but hasn't been around much since. It's definitely making a comeback as there are some gorgeous velvet party dresses around at the moment.
I remember a real trend for long satin maxi skirts as well - I had a gold coloured one that I wore with suede boots and a denim shirt. I wouldn't be surprised if we see them again soon.

I think the white company ones are lovely.

biker boots

Ellapaella · 11/11/2018 21:37

Ooh yes those are lovely boots, and a pretty good price.

Ellapaella · 11/11/2018 21:40

The White Company is one of those shops I could happily take one of everything in there. There's nothing I don't like.

Missbobbins · 11/11/2018 21:42

Thanks @Ella and @twosoups - so many lovely boots! Especially love the lottery win ones!
@Always the white stuff ones are lovely!
So many beautiful boots - what to do... xx

TheFormidableMrsC · 11/11/2018 21:50

ASOS have got some good biker boots...and some non leather ones in the "outlet" section too. However, the ankle ones I have seen have been way below £100. I am not looking to buy as I got some fabulous ones a couple of summers ago from Office for £28 reduced from £85!! The more battered and worn in they get the better. I also got some full length leather bikers from TK Maxx for £29 about 4 years ago and have worn them to death and they still look amazing although I do re-heel when needed. No need to replace. It's one of those things that if you get it right, they should last you for years.

@Ellapaella I hear you with things coming around again...my Mum was a model for many years and I still have loads of her vintage stuff (that doesn't fit but that I keep for sentimental reasons). She wore things that nobody else would and I really do take a lead from that, even now. If she were still alive, she would have totally embraced it all again because she could if you know what I mean! Even at my age (nearly 50), I've seen things come round again and kicked myself for chucking them out the first time around! I remember wearing my Mum's khaki leather skinny jeans for clubbing years ago and everybody was a bit Confused but I looked totally fab and I wish I'd hung onto them!

hendricksy · 12/11/2018 07:43

Tesco have some lovely cashmere jumpers everyone incase you are interested . Grey with stars and cream with pink stars . I might have got both 😬.. but £65 each. I've kept the receipt in case they don't wash well 🤗

Laska3Meryl · 12/11/2018 09:22

looks like yy Seasalt mac ordered from Brand Alley is being delivered today ..

OP posts:
NotAnActualSheep · 12/11/2018 12:12

yy to regretting getting rid of stuff... I appropriated "inherited" a beautiful navy velvet blazer from my mum which got so many compliments. It was such thick velvet and fitted well until I lost some weight (it was allegedly a size 16, but I think a 1960s 16, so probably a 10/12 nowadays!). I charity-shopped it in a fit of wardrobe cleansing and I have no idea why.... grrrrrr.

Lovely boots all - I like the first (Faith/ Debenhams) ones missbobbins posted. Unless I'm reading the wrong thing, they are leather ("sheep leather") and i think they will go really well with dresses/ skinnies. I need ones that are quite narrow on the ankle to work with dresses/ skirts, and I really like those. (I've got these in black to fulfil that need - which are fine, but not the height of style). Also love the lottery ones (and the R&B lottery ones too Grin) and Laska's fab long lace up ones. Sooooo many lovely boots in the world...

Jealous about the BA order arriving. I've still only got 2/5ths of my order from early October through. Its frustrating...

Huffthepuff · 12/11/2018 12:42

Yes Laska I saw that. Awaiting the postman... could have done with it this morning ☔️

Laska3Meryl · 12/11/2018 12:46

There's an XS pink Meryl on the website at the moment !! (no grey sadly)

Blimey Blush just been catching up and realised I have some faux leather & suede jeans from MV from last year. I'm sending all my next ones back. They make an embarrassing rustling noise whenever you move. Grin
Just taken delivery of two HM Ivy dupes, one black, one burgundy as I'm sick of wearing jeans all the time when I want to be casual.
I've far too much dressy stuff and not enough nice casual stuff.

Huffthepuff · 12/11/2018 13:23

Nooooo Laska ☹️ how annoying. Mine just arrived too. Have to say it's not as oversized as the reviews made it sound.
Really happy with it. Super light weight and looks really well made. Will try wearing it out this afternoon

Missbobbins · 12/11/2018 13:24

@Sheep - those Clarks ones are fab! ❣️
Love them in brown too.... 😋

Laska3Meryl · 12/11/2018 13:31

I've actually realised that its also the same one as I already had in citron ( also in a 12 same size and which does fit). So i obviously wasn't paying attention anyway . Ah well,.. and i have to pay to send it back .. Angry
