@Huffthepuff how do I get free Bam socks?

dontcallmelen · 21/11/2018 20:05

@Laska3 Meryl, I am so very sorry for your loss my heartfelt sympathy & sending you & your family much love, she sounded like a fabulously stylish person, Mother like Daughter 💐

Huffthepuff · 21/11/2018 20:06

Ella I don't know! I must have received about 10 new catalogues this week from companies I've never ordered from before. I've definitely been profiled. Can't help but feel I pushed them over the edge by ordering from Pure Collection after they sent me their catalogue out of the blue. Now they are all streaming in cos they think I'm a soft touch (I am)

dontcallmelen · 21/11/2018 20:07

Yy health care staff, my parents received amazing care & I will always be thankful that they did the best they could, to try & ease their passing.

dontcallmelen · 21/11/2018 20:09

Velvetpuffaalert Sainsburys had one today in a sort of navy/royal blue for £38.00 also have 25%off today.

dontcallmelen · 21/11/2018 20:13

huff I’m the same the last few weeks, have had umpteen catalogues through the door, sadly no free socks.

Alwaysasparklymoment99 · 21/11/2018 20:22

Well I caved and ordered the twiggy jumper. Almost immediately after doing it thought I shouldn't have but its too late! Anyway, will try it on and most likely return as I seriously don't want to be spending money on myself atm. Most likely too itchy round my neck anyway as it has mohair in it. Nice to see though. Will post a picture if its nice.

NotAnActualSheep · 21/11/2018 20:27

laska Your DM sounds great - definitely something in the genes re stylish AND outspoken Grin. Hope you are all OK - a time to be surrounded by and supported by your loved ones. And yy to the NHS and their staff StarStarStarStarStar

len How funny - I was going to say just that about the sainsbury's navy velvet puffa! It popped up in my adverts at the bottom of my page and i thought it looked lovely. A right bargain today with the 25% off too. It looks longish, so may not be so much of a bottom-freezer. I may give that a go.

I got the free socks too. Just the one pair though - i'm holding out for some more - there was a socks thread here last week where people had got 2 or 3 pairs... They were thinking it was Boden wot dunnit (the profiling). Which would fit...

dontcallmelen · 21/11/2018 20:28

Always haha I knew you would, when you mentioned it the other day it might be itchy but you will never know p, unless you scratch that itch!!

dontcallmelen · 21/11/2018 20:30

Not it was actually really nice & did look a bit longer quite thick as well, I would have tried it on but they didn’t have any in my size.
I did get a really nice top, ever so slightly Chanel looking, will take a pic tomorrow.

NotAnActualSheep · 21/11/2018 20:30

Ooooh - I'm jealous always! Would love to see the Twiggy. I agree that I think the mohair so close to the neck would annoy me, and some of the reviews say the neck is a bit weird in the flesh - but it is such lovely colours...

Alwaysasparklymoment99 · 21/11/2018 20:31

melen absolutely but I really did feel buyers guilt as I have Xmas gifts to buy so will most likely return itchy or not. It does look lovely but I don't need it.

I have two pair of bam socks. They are really nice. Not sure I would pay £16 for 4 though.

Alwaysasparklymoment99 · 21/11/2018 20:33

@not, I will post a picture of it. I ordered the small as it says its generous although may not be and may be tight to get over my head as that is some of the complaints that the neck is small fitting and not like it is on the website. If that is the case, it will most likely be too itchy for me as I cannot bare things round the neck that itch.

dontcallmelen · 21/11/2018 20:33

Always I know what you mean, I was Christmas shopping today & ended up with a top & jumper I don’t need.

dontcallmelen · 21/11/2018 20:36

Sainsburys also had the premium leather jackets, in black & dark beige £99.00 plus 25% off.

Ellapaella · 21/11/2018 20:39

I need a dress for some Christmas nights out. Nothing too fancy but something that is not too casual that I can wear out to an informal party in a pub and to meals out followed by drinks (nowhere posh).
I want to be able to wear with black tights as it's going to be very cold up here over the next few weeks. Anyone seen anything nice?
Am contemplating the sparkly Hush dress that you have @Alwaysasparklymoment99 -how short is it on the leg?

Ellapaella · 21/11/2018 20:43

Anyone got the Imogen dress?

dontcallmelen · 21/11/2018 20:55

Ella sainsburys had a really nice black knitted dress with a bit of sparkle running through it, might be worth a look it was quite a nice weight as well.

Ellapaella · 21/11/2018 21:08

Thanks len I'll have a look

Ellapaella · 21/11/2018 21:20

I can see the dress you mean len but it's out of stock online. I've ordered this one to try. It looks quite Hush like, think it'll look nice with black opaques and my black suede heeled ankle boots.
Worth a try. Am going to try and get into John Lewis on the weekend to have a browse are well.

Here are the Hushistas - counting down for a Very Meryl-y festive season
dontcallmelen · 21/11/2018 21:28

Ooh very hush like, like it.

Alwaysasparklymoment99 · 21/11/2018 22:12

Thats really nice Ella. About the hush glitter dress, it is quite short on me and probably quite short on you as you are taller? I have tended to wear mine with thick leggings and black ankle boots for better coverage. It looks like i am wearing tights still but the thickness helps. I do really like it though.

Ellapaella · 21/11/2018 22:17

I'm going to try it on in JL Always as I would like to get away from black if I can (I have so many black dresses).
If this Sainsbury's dress is nice I'll keep anyway as it's cheap enough - night dress up a bit with sparkly tights rather than just plain black. With a pair of statement earrings I think it'll be lovely. Only thing will be whether the seam under the bust sits well, I'm not great with A line or skater style dresses, they don't suit my shape at all.

GinandGingerBeer · 21/11/2018 23:55

I've had a moment of madness Shock and decided I don't have a suitable coat to wear for our trip to London this weekend (going to see Hamilton) and I've ordered the Hush parka from JL. Then I decided I must have the black coated jeans (trying in a bigger size) to take me from sight seeing visiting Cos, Massimo Dutti and uniqlo to restaurants and bars.

So! If they're keepers but then they're reduced for Black Friday, can I re order from both JL and Hush and send them back again with the full price invoice?

I once bought a handbag from Karen Millen for a wedding and it was reduced by 25% the next day so I emailed them and said "How about you help save the planet and keep a customer happy and just reimburse me the difference instead of me sending it back and you posting another one Smile?" And they did! I was so pleased!

Alwaysasparklymoment99 · 22/11/2018 05:11

@Gin, I have returned things on my old receipt if they have reduced no problem. You are still sending the unworn garments back.
