Thank you melen sorry for bringing down a happy thread but sometimes I think WTF has happened to our happy family??

dontcallmelen · 18/11/2018 17:18

twosoups please please don’t feel bad, I’m always banging on about something, so do many others did you see all posts about us moaning about our hot flushes & foggy brains.
It must be so difficult, especially when you say it wasn’t a big mad day just a visit to a market, sorry I don’t have any really useful constructive advice but am more than happy to listen, have a hug from me.

twosoups1972 · 18/11/2018 17:21

Thank you melen I’m 46 and also pre-menopausal I think, it doesn’t help!

dontcallmelen · 18/11/2018 17:24

twosoups it definitely doesn’t help, before my hysterectomy I was like a wailing banshee, one minute all happy dancing round the kitchen next minute roaring crying over a dropped biscuit😳

twosoups1972 · 18/11/2018 17:27

Did the hysterectomy help?

dontcallmelen · 18/11/2018 17:32

It did make a huge difference difference, I had unexplained bleeding & was in agony for probably three weeks out of four, was a physical & hormonal wreck, won’t pretend that surgery & recovery was a walk in the park but it made a huge difference to my quality of life.

ilovecherries · 18/11/2018 18:19

not, I love the velvet jacket. Actually, I love velvet. A velvet tux is something I’m going to have one day.

twosoups, that sounds a tough day. :(.

twosoups1972 · 18/11/2018 18:40

not I love velvet too.

Thanks cherries dd brings out such strong emotions in me. I love her to bits and am fiercely protective of her but today I was ready to have her adopted ☹️ Just so fed up with her lack of empathy and acting like a much younger child.

Alwaysasparklymoment99 · 18/11/2018 18:45

Children in general bring out strong emotions tbh. My dd was a nightmare on Friday. With her it is tiredness and youngest child spoilt syndrome!!! Treated too much like the little cute youngest child and now we have made a rod for our own backs. Its tiring trying to fix it!!
Anway, Flowers I have had many a bad day parenting.

hendricksy · 18/11/2018 19:11

It's my birthday tomorrow and I think we are going to Kingston . Hoping to try some bits on as Bluewater had hardly anything !!

Alwaysasparklymoment99 · 18/11/2018 20:02

@Hendricksy - hope you have a brilliant birthday and are totally spoiled. I probably wont be on until later as am at work tomorrow so thought id say it now :)

hendricksy · 18/11/2018 20:04

@Alwaysasparklymoment99 thank you .. I'll update if I get anything 🤗🤗

Coriander71 · 18/11/2018 20:06

Thanks @missbobbins and all - navy suede boots it is then - now to find a pair that aren’t too expensive. For what it’s worth ref MV leggings, I am a pretty solid 12 5’5” and got the medium and they are a perfect fit (or they will be once I muster up courage to wear them!

twosoups1972 · 18/11/2018 20:06

@hendricksy have a lovely day tomorrow Flowers

Coriander71 · 18/11/2018 20:11

Sorry, just read my post and seems a bit insensitive following on from what is being discussed- huge respect to you all and I think it’s great that a thread like this can accommodate such honest and heartfelt comments and support (waffling a bit now but hope you get my drift...)

ilovecherries · 18/11/2018 20:30

Don’t feel bad, coriander. We flit from deep to frivolous and back again all the time :)

NotAnActualSheep · 18/11/2018 21:37

miss bobbins lol at the menopause musical!!! That sorts out the venue for any meet up at least Grin

coriander your outfit sounds great. I'm a bit rubbish with navy...normally just end up with tan or grey boots, but that never feels very smart to me. I think black can work too, but it has to be the right kind of black Confused!

soups really sorry to hear you've had a difficult day. My DS can be soo whiny sometimes, when we go out of our way to do something nice as a family, it is really wearing... Someone at church asked me whether he was ASD this morning ( he was actually being lovely today once we got going) which made me sad... I don't think he is, but he does find interaction difficult with some other people, and his reactions when things don't go as expected can be a bit excessive. I was worried when he was younger, but think it is just "him", but it can be difficult when we have to change plans/ leave situations etc because of his behaviour. He's really down at the moment about something, and is not able to properly express it to us, so his behaviour at home has been very odd over the weekend saying he hates himself etc. He's fine at school, though, so his teacher is saying there's nothing to worry about...it's so difficult. So Flowers.

Glad there's general approval of the velvet blazer Grin. I've been stroking it lots... I think I'll keep it but send back the various leather leggings! The sosandar ones are lovely and as cherries said, really nice on the inside, but just not me. The MV leggings would be a really good "gateway drug" Grin though. In terms of size, I'm a 14 / 5'6" and got a L, which were fine - maybe a bit loose on the waist and fine lengthwise... They look amazing on fairies and I was wavering, but in truth I really don't think I'll wear them out of the house. And I do need to stop spending money...! I had a wardrobe clear out this afternoon and I really don't need anything else!

Laska3Meryl · 18/11/2018 22:28

You too @Laska. Grin

twosoups1972 · 18/11/2018 22:55

Treated too much like the little cute youngest child and now we have made a rod for our own backs

Very true always Same here.

Alwaysasparklymoment99 · 18/11/2018 23:44

Glad im not the only one to have a dc like thisSmile

GinandGingerBeer · 19/11/2018 00:06

With 3 minutes to go with the MV discount I caved and ordered the leggings. Quite sure I'll resemble black pudding in them but I have to scratch the itch. Also ordered these earrings:
https://www.mintvelvet.co.uk/product/star-amp-moon-gold-tone-hoops/18705

This too shall pass and tomorrow's another day and red wine got me through many a tough day when the DC's were smaller. Days out often ended in disaster, expectations on both parts.. I expected em to enjoy it and they thought they would! Reality was always a bit different.

I'm still off work, don't feel ready to go back either Sad
Back at the GP Tuesday morning.

Have a good week everyone.

Welcome to the new posters! Sorry, head like a sieve and I can't scroll back on the app to check NNs Smile

ilovecherries · 19/11/2018 08:57

I’m very glad last night is over. Talk about anxiety dreams. Sad. I dreamt I was in theatre having my breast reduction. For some reason I was awake and directing proceedings, but not in any pain. But the surgeon was almost having to play whack-a-mole. He would get one side reduced, start on the other side, and by the time he’d done that the first side was twice as big as it had been initially. Repeat ad nauseum, getting bigger each time till my boobs had taken over the entire room, were suffocating not only me but every one else in the room. I woke up with my heart hammering and drenched in sweat. I’m still feeling a bit ick about it, so taking myself off to Starbucks to work for a bit of company, rather than sitting at home at my desk. Wearing black harems, l/l black vest, hush pink boatneck cashmere jumper, black leather Skechers. Need comfort dressing today. Have a good day everyone Smile

dontcallmelen · 19/11/2018 09:04

hendricksy Happy birthday, enjoy your day happy shopping🎂🍸

GinandGingerBeer · 19/11/2018 09:07

Oh cherries, it's awful when you can't shake off a dream,,I'm not surprised you feel how you do, sounds terrifying!
God dreams are soooo weird! Very easy to see where that one comes from though.

Enjoy your Starbucks.

I'm still in bed, woke up sopping wet not sure if hormonal or hypo, (I'm type 1 diabetic) so had to rip the sheets & quilt cover off @ 6am Sad
