Dave I remember very well, was awful I ended up having a hysterectomy when I was forty four, as I was on my knees with pain & really heavy periods have you spoken to GP? You have my sympathy.

Laska3Meryl · 15/11/2018 20:43

Dave I did sadly, I had a couple of years of horrendous ones in my mid 40s .. but then it just stopped all of a sudden and then went back to pretty much normal . Then in early 50s I had literally one v light one a year for a couple more years , then nothing.. (hooray) .. I was about 53 last one ..

I'm now watching the medium and extra small Sabrinas awaiting size advice lol. That's how easy it is to get distracted by eBay!

DavetheCat2001 · 15/11/2018 21:01

Thanks for sharing ladies...I'm 45 and have felt my periods have definitely got worse since I had my DD at 40.

It's funny, I hate my periods but also really don't want to go through the menopause..some weird thing in my brain keeps thinking I want to be able to have another child if I wanted to..even though I know I am too old now and actually 2 kids is enough for me practically (always wanted 3)

Writersblock2 · 15/11/2018 21:07

Does anyone have any decent Hush codes? Hubby has indicated he will be purchasing for me for Xmas so it will be a new account.

Thanks in advance.

Alwaysasparklymoment99 · 15/11/2018 21:14

The sabrina cardigan is very generous. I have the small and probably would have been fine with the xs. It is meant to be quite loose though. I reckon if you are a 14 you should get the medium or small.

Laska3Meryl · 15/11/2018 21:15

writers I have a £20 code ill pm it to you

@Dave - I always had hideous periods in my 40's especially towards my late 40's. I had my last baby at 43. After her sorry if its tmi but I would bleed so much It was embaressing. Had a few 'situations' at work and ended up having to buy special underwear to prevent leaks. I never suffered any bad cramps though. My last period was June and before that it was 11 months ago.

Alwaysasparklymoment99 · 15/11/2018 21:18

@Laska - I should be known as 2sabrinas!!!!! I have both colours :) About 2 meryls!!! Grin

whiskyremorse · 15/11/2018 21:19

Always thank you I am a 10 so usually small or extra small but have been caught out before by the size variations!

Writersblock2 · 15/11/2018 21:20

Thanks, Laska! Wine

Alwaysasparklymoment99 · 15/11/2018 21:20

Did I say it is a fabulous cardigan and totally worth the price even new. It is gorgeous. It is actually like wearing cashmere. I find for some strange reason the charcoal one is softer than the olive but the material is exactly the same. I adore both of mine but obviously wear the charcoal a lot more. They have lovely pockets @Laska Wink

Alwaysasparklymoment99 · 15/11/2018 21:21

In that case and xs is what you need in the sabrina. It is generous but is lovely and cosy to wrap yourself up in. Anyone considering it as an xmas present should get one. I love mine.

dontcallmelen · 15/11/2018 21:22

Dave I know exactly what you mean, I felt the same even though I had no intention of having anymore, my youngest was was nearly twenty yet still wasn’t really ready to ‘let go’ of still having a choice, it ain’t easy being a woman sometimes.

Alwaysasparklymoment99 · 15/11/2018 21:22

Its not thick but its warm and there is room to layer jumpers under it too. I wear my hush wide jersey tops under it. They are useful for popping into the car and out. I find they are elegant.

Ellapaella · 15/11/2018 21:23

@DavetheCat2001 I'm 39 and since the birth of my 3rd child 4 years ago I think I'm definitely peri menopausal.
Had horrendous periods, very heavy bleeding and extremely painful. Lots of pelvic pain in between periods particularly after exercise.
Now my periods have become so erratic, I've actually just missed 2, thought I would miss a 3rd but it arrived today. Migraines are worse, night sweats, dry eyes the works - it's shit. I actually have an appointment to see my dr in 2 weeks as I'm worried if I'm missing periods now I might need supplements for bone strength etc.
So I understand how shit it is.
I had a scan after suffering months of intermittent pain and heavy bleeding and was told I have fibroids as well as some endometriosis and adhesions from my c sections which explains the pain. I have found my actual periods have settled now and are no longer so painful or heavy - apparently fibroids can shrink spontaneously.

Sorry for long rant - in a house full of men and boys I don't get a chance to talk about it much!

Laska3Meryl · 15/11/2018 21:24

Nope....... Not listening Always2Sabrinas Grin

Missbobbins · 15/11/2018 21:24

@DavetheCat2001 I am the same - I'm 41 and have many symptoms of peri for a while now and that being one of them - they used to be manageable but now they are horrendous for a couple of days. Have you found anything that helps?
Hugs xx

Alwaysasparklymoment99 · 15/11/2018 21:25

I was happy not to have anymore. First time in my life that I felt finished in that department @melen. I did grieve the loss of them because I felt it was a loss of womanhood and age :( I still feel that way. Doesn't help that my dd is nearing the age of starting hers. Just as I thought I had got away with having to pay for monthlies!!!

Alwaysasparklymoment99 · 15/11/2018 21:27

@Dave do you know that I am neveradullmoment99? I think you missed our little name changing episode!!! Maybe I should confuse everyone and be always2sabrinas!!!

Laska3Meryl · 15/11/2018 21:29

I love being post menopausal .. but it does have its downsides in the libido department sadly .. (they dont tell you that bit) ,

OP posts:
Alwaysasparklymoment99 · 15/11/2018 21:29

So - neveradullmoment99 to alwaysasparklymoment99 to always2sabrinas???

Alwaysasparklymoment99 · 15/11/2018 21:30

Yes, I agree @Laska. It wasn't like that peri menopause.
