Here we go again!

And by popular demand, here are the previous threads:

Special edition: Eugenie wedding thread

Harry and Meghan have 2 days more in NZ before they head back to London and, if I was her, I'd put on pyjamas, get Netflix fired up, and not leave my bed for several days! William and Kate will be out for a sporty engagement in Essex tomorrow and I'm sure we'll start to see them more as she's now officially back from maternity leave..

No idea what the continental royals are up to but New My Royals (does that title even make sense?) is my go-to link for them!

On the subject of Royal finances and how would they manage I was staggered to hear on Radio 4 this morning that the Duchy of Lancaster cleans up from ppl dying intestate and with no traceable relatives in Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Furness .And similarly PC inherits from intestate estates in Cornwall .

Spudlet · 30/10/2018 10:26

I can see Edward as a vicar! Perhaps like our local one, who asked if the village playgroup children could come and sing at the harvest festival. Someone had to gently explain that they are on average two years old, and inherently anarchic Grin Expectation management in action!

I can imagine Sophie as the woman who explains this, too!

TSSDNCOP · 30/10/2018 10:26

Para agree re CB; super-pared and fabulous bride. But to MM “other coats do exist!” And the pushed up sleeves are just too Miami Vice.

I wonder if she thinks the Mac makes her look more British ala Madonna/Guy Richie year’s when she wore more tweed get ups than Dick van Dyke in Mary Poppins.

QueenOfTheAndals · 30/10/2018 10:30

Or a simpler explanation for the mac could be that it was a grey day with a chance of rain!

TSSDNCOP · 30/10/2018 10:33

Granted Queen, and for that HM would have a lovely fabric coat and a clear brolly.

Not just another beige Mac.

It’s a blip in my overall adoration of the MM wardrobe, and I highly doubt she’ll lose sleep over my input. But crikey they’re getting on my wick.

QueenOfTheAndals · 30/10/2018 10:35

Well she had been criticised for not wearing more British brands and the mac is Burberry!

TSSDNCOP · 30/10/2018 10:36

Oh crumbs! Let’s hope she’s not going to go all Danielle Westbrook on us instead of Lady Madge Grin

QueenOfTheAndals · 30/10/2018 10:37

Re careers for the royals, I can see Anne as the no-nonsense headmistress of a girls boarding school: "what d'you mean you've broken your arm Lucinda? You don't need arms for tomorrow's cross-country run, do you?"

@TSSDNCOP Harry is dusting off the checked cap as we speak...

Chim chiminey Queen

I’ve derailed your lovely thread enough now Grin

Andy would be a golf pro in a not too successful club and would badly design golf courses.

Edward is definitely the vicar and the head of the local am dram group.

Anne would stay exactly as she is

Charles would be a roving Buddhist Monk who repeatedly breaks his vows.

Spudlet · 30/10/2018 11:00

PMSL at Headmistress Anne - she's a natural Grin

Charles would be that guy who writes long screeds to local newspapers and the parish newsletter about the evils of developers and the benefits of homeopathy. He would have an organic smallholding and produce veg boxes for the village shop, or something similar [pauses to reflect that Prince Charles could well be loving anonymously down the road and writing to the parish magazine every. Bloody. Month...]

Parabolica · 30/10/2018 11:00

Anne is classic Head of Games material. She would get results (mainly through fear!). Probably too abrasive to be an actual Headmistress! Totally stumped for Andrew. A family friend of DH served with him in the Navy and said he was a top guy and really mucked in. Maybe some sort of armed forces role is where he'd be best suited.
Charles maybe an architect or CEO of English Heritage/RHS etc. So mocked for his views back in the 80s but quite visionary really.

VanillaSugary · 30/10/2018 11:02

William would still an Air Sea Rescue pilot and Harry would still be in the army.

George is going to be a police commissioner, Charlotte will be a model and Louis will be a celebrity chef.

Parabolica · 30/10/2018 11:03

Although I love the idea of Andrew and Fergie running a posh guest-house like Steph & Dom from Gogglebox! Or maybe being on Gogglebox!

BlingLoving · 30/10/2018 11:05

I think Charles would be a property developer or farmer!

Vanilla - that's not very high ambitions for charlotte? She appears to be bright, vivacious, confident AND pretty. Surely she could have an actual career that uses more just her good looks?

Spudlet · 30/10/2018 11:07

Philip has a good career in the navy too didn't he? I think the armed forces seem to suit a lot of them. Good and structured with a clear hierarchy, not much room for ambiguity... you can see why it might suit.

AhoyDelBoy · 30/10/2018 11:15

There is Gogglebox in the UK? We have that here in Australia too Grin it’s quite funny!
Meghan’s NZ outfits have been a little underwhelming Confused

VanillaSugary · 30/10/2018 11:16

I beg to differ - the most successful models are highly intelligent - Lily Cole, Claudia Schiffer.

QueenOfTheAndals · 30/10/2018 11:17

Charlotte can do better than a model @VanillaSugary! How about a scientist who makes a breakthrough in the cure for cancer???

OP posts:
QueenOfTheAndals · 30/10/2018 11:19

For all that he wears uniform at times, did Charles actually serve in the armed forces?

OP posts:
QueenOfTheAndals · 30/10/2018 11:20

I can just see Edward the vicar prancing across the stage in tights at his local am dram, while long-suffering Sophie supplies tea and sarnies for the rest and rolls her eyes at his theatrics...

OP posts:
BlingLoving · 30/10/2018 11:20

Sorry Vanilla, while I have absolutely nothing against models and agree that the most successful ones are probably highly intelligent, driven and business-savvy, I would not want any child to aspire to a career where his/her looks are the thing that causes initial success. Any child. If one my my children in time becomes a model, fine. But if DD announces tomorrow she wants to be a model, I'd be pretty upset (she's 3. Plus I probably don't need to worry, last we heard she wanted to be a doctor!)
