Special edition: Eugenie wedding thread

Harry and Meghan have 2 days more in NZ before they head back to London and, if I was her, I'd put on pyjamas, get Netflix fired up, and not leave my bed for several days! William and Kate will be out for a sporty engagement in Essex tomorrow and I'm sure we'll start to see them more as she's now officially back from maternity leave..

No idea what the continental royals are up to but New My Royals (does that title even make sense?) is my go-to link for them!

Women older than 35 are a little more likely to have twins. African American women are slightly more likely to have twins than Caucasian women and Asian and hispanic (Central American, indigenous South American) women are less likely. There are two factors at play there.

gingercat02 · 31/10/2018 18:45

Twins aren't always familial. My friend has twins, no family history on either side. She was told twins were more common in younger and older mums (she was 36!)

Want2bSupermum · 31/10/2018 18:46

She looks early 2nd trimester pregnant. I would say about 16-20 weeks. It's her first pregnancy and she was showing a while ago. She looked about 12 weeks pregnant back in early to mid September

MotherofPearl · 31/10/2018 18:47

Queen, I absolutely love those outfits of Kate's, especially the Gucci.

I think she looks great in today's dress. I don't don't think she's too slim - I think she looks healthy. Slim, but healthy.

VanillaSugary · 31/10/2018 18:52

OK - Who can tell me why Prince Charles had a fancy Investiture as the Prince of Wales at the age of 21? In Wales?

I don't remember any other PoW having one.

Clionba · 31/10/2018 18:55

Edward VIII had one. George V and George VI weren't Prince of Wales.

RainbowsArePretty · 31/10/2018 19:07

I hadn't seen Kate in the two dresses posted by Queen at 5pm.
Love them! Timeless but young

YearOfYouRemember · 31/10/2018 19:28

owlshooting just a gut feeling. Nothing scientific or insider info Grin.

SenecaFalls · 31/10/2018 19:30

George V was Prince of Wales but he wasn't invested. The investiture ceremony had evidently been used in medieval times, but had been abandoned. It was revived for Edward, PoW, who became Edward VIII.

George V was Duke of York at the time of his father's accession. He then also became Duke of Cornwall. He was created Prince of Wales a few months later.

QueenOfTheAndals · 31/10/2018 19:30

@VanillaSugary I think he was made Prince of Wales when he was a child but the investiture was held off til he was 21. Bet he didn't think he's still be waiting for the top job nearly 50 years later!

Clomid?

VanillaSugary · 31/10/2018 20:07

Oh yes- I should have googled first, shouldn't I? But thank you for the internet leads - look what I found. And check out those Royal hats!

Dontfeellikeaskeleton · 31/10/2018 20:07

OK, yes, sorry, the wedding was a while ago

Dontfeellikeaskeleton · 31/10/2018 20:10

Meghan must be absolutely bloody buggered after her antipodean tour : heels, smiling at people, waving, dressing, etc.

At five months I just wanted to hibernate!

Dontfeellikeaskeleton · 31/10/2018 20:11

Yes Kate looks better slightly bigger. She looks younger.

My fave outfit of hers was that tweedy dress she wore a couple of weeks ago, it was perfect.

Paradyning · 31/10/2018 20:17

That tweed dress was too long though!

QueenOfTheAndals · 31/10/2018 20:35

Was it? I assumed it was meant to be midi-length.

OP posts:
Paradyning · 31/10/2018 20:43

It was supposed to be midi. That was too long. It should have been an inch shorter imo

AdaColeman · 31/10/2018 20:54

I think that the Investiture of PoW was a bit of a political move to try to counteract the enthusiasm for Welsh nationalism which was getting a lot of support at the time.
Immediately before the Investiture people died in a bombing, so it was quite a tense time, and it must have been hoped that a PoW would help unite England & Wales.
Charles studied Welsh history and language, to prove his commitment to the role.

Cornwall73 · 31/10/2018 20:57

I don’t think the RF would have kept the fact that she was expecting twins a ‘suprise’. The statement said ‘.. expecting a baby’. The gender and due date will be private until she delivers but I don’t think they would hold back news of a multiple pregnancy.

I remember that every time Kate was pg the tabloids announced it was twins!

Mind you if she is expecting multiples then I totally take my hat off to her and that royal tour abroad (speaking as a twin mum myself).

SilentIsla · 31/10/2018 21:13

Her name is CATHERINE!

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 31/10/2018 21:39

Just for fun from her time on Suits. Wonder what those answers would be now.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 31/10/2018 21:49

Meghan Markle And oh the irony when she talks about how important it is for clothes to fit perfectly and not be too long.
Take your own advice already, Miss Duchess!

BowTieBaby · 31/10/2018 21:50

It absolutely was not an optical illusion!

QueenOfTheAndals · 31/10/2018 21:52

Meanwhile in Spain Princess Sofia has made her first public speech at 13. Her sister is about a year or two younger, but the same height and they look like twins! Both girls always look chic as well as occasion- and age-appropriately dressed - no doubt Letizia's doing!
