What tights with white trainers?

I like the look of white trainers with skirts and dresses, but what tights go with them to keep warm, now that it's too cold for bare legs?
Are black opaques a no no?
And what if the skirt or dress is a lighter colour?
I wondered about cream coloured fishnet tights, or light grey cable/ soft knit.

Fishnets are prostitute tights which should only be worn on Halloween and I'm only 23 so not a pearl clutcher.

Black tights are fine as are grey they're neutral.

Cable knit tights are weird and look like children's tights.

I saw someone this morning wearing tights with a lacey pattern with white trainers and it did look nice. But do agree that black tights will look fine

@averageisgood but lacy tights are not fishnet tights. Lacy pattern tights are nice, fishnets are not.

No no no! I love this look and I wear it all summer long with my 50s skirts but NEVER after it's too cold for bare legs! I go into opaques and lovely ankle boots as soon as the leaves turn!

I think I've managed to make flesh coloured tights work with culottes and flats though, just because opaques look really weird with culottes.

I think some people suit fishnets though. It's just a tights pattern. I find them uncomfortable and weird to wear, but each to their own

LaurieFairyCake, I am old, too, and I agree that it's a look that shouldn't really work; it's just so comfortable, and makes more of your wardrobe wearable for everday.

Leggings are a better match with trainners x

None. The answer is none. There are no tights that "go" with white trainers.

I wear all black, black opaque tights and white Stan Smiths.

I'm mad, me. And stumpy. But I can run without breaking my ankle or slipping on slimy leaves, so that's a fair trade.

I sometimes wear nude coloured fishnets with them. Looks ok. Laughing at the 'prostitute tights' comment, makes me want to dig out my black fishnets and wear them today!!

You'd be bound to put a fingernail through them, all that taking them off and putting them on again. And they'd go baggy.

I wear Stan Smiths with culottes in winter. I have black and white pairs. With the white I wear nude fishnets/prostitute tights under the culottes, with the black I wear lacy or crochet tights. No-one has ever asked me for prices, and i don’t get cold ankles.

I don't think any tights go with trainers, especially white ones, sorry

Ah fuck... I wore black fishnet stockings (I hate tights & certainly didn't wear them with trainers) yesterday I didn't know that a) I had to be a prostitute or b) I could only wear them on Halloween

Wouldn't prostitutes wear stockings? Easier access and keep you warmer while on the job. Plus the punters probably appreciate them. Tights are never sexy.

Meh, I thought it was a fairly universal thing that fishnets make you look like a prostitute. Maybe it was just my mum not wanting me to wear fishnets...
