Can I have your approval or disapproval of this outfit for a meal with friends tomorrow night?

It's just round at the local, kids in tow.

I'm always scared to wear loose fitting tops as I feel they make me look big (used to be overweight and lost the weight).

Some of the girls going are that really effortlessly stylish types and I certainly wouldn't put myself in that category.

Looking for a casual but well put together feel.

Also wondering if sandals & a jumper is a bit weird?

Please help!!

Thanks ☺️

I like the jumper and sandals, makes it casual but stylish Smile

Botanicbaby · 14/09/2018 23:17

You look great in both outfits. Personally I prefer the pinafore I think it is very much of the moment and quite autumnal. You’re not silly for caring what you wear and please go with what you feel best in. The bag is fine!

itbemay · 14/09/2018 23:31

Outfit 2 is lovely and v on trend!

Playdonut · 14/09/2018 23:37

I like outfit 2. But I would also like outfit 1 if you had trainers to go with it.

I think you are worrying about this way too much. You are young slim and pretty. You will look good in whatever. Appreciate tour looks and love yourself. xxxx

Mumof4under10 · 14/09/2018 23:53

I think both outfits looks lovely. I don't see a problem with Sandals and a jumper. Wear what you feel comfortable in. You look great and well done on the weight loss. Flowers

ILikePaperHats · 14/09/2018 23:57

Outfit 2 is lovely but probably
Not suitable for soft play if your kids are young and you're climbing through tunnels etc!

Maverick66 · 15/09/2018 00:01

Thierry Henry. Is on the money!
Fabulous helpful post.
I'd go with either outfit. In my humble opinion both are young and you have a fabulous figure.

Lollypop701 · 15/09/2018 00:21

You look fab in both...!preference is jeans look with converse looking trainers. Bags fine. However whatever you wear, love it as attitude trumps it all

PickAChew · 15/09/2018 00:24

Gone but beige. A art from the jumper /sandals conundrum. Find a lighter top.

Perfectly1mperfect · 15/09/2018 00:35

Outfit 1 looks really nice, I like the back of the jumper a lot. I don't see the problem with the sandals at all. Don't overthink it and get paranoid, you look great.

Elledorado · 15/09/2018 00:37

I hope you wore the jeans and jumper, it looked great on you and I loved the sandals with it - made it way more interesting than a pair of converse (this look is so over done). I really dislike pinafores on adults though, imo it's hard to make them look anything but cutesy/frumpy. I'd take the pinnie back and get some ankle boots, I think you'll get more wear out of them.

Bettysnoop · 15/09/2018 00:46

OP you have a lovely figure. Sorry I think your outfit is frumpy & daytime kicking about the house wear.

Them jeans would look fab with a casual shirt & ankle boots!

1vandal2 · 15/09/2018 00:48

The jumper just looks like it was put on backwards and don't like the sandals. Boots or some stylish black high top trainers would work.

WanderingTrolley1 · 15/09/2018 00:58

Outfit 1 is good for soft play place, but I prefer outfit 2.

mumof06darlings · 15/09/2018 01:05

Outfit 2 is fab

MsJuniper · 15/09/2018 01:31

I think you look great in both OP but prefer outfit 1 and I think it looks stylish. I like the sandals as the style is not too beachy to wear with a jumper.

Easynow · 15/09/2018 01:58

Jeans & vest top in pic 1 with sandals would be good. Lose the jumper - its nice but too hot.

You will look nice whatever you choose Wine

Snog · 15/09/2018 02:10

Also looking fab in the dress OP.
You look really lovely in both outfits 😊
Enjoy!

delphguelph · 15/09/2018 02:21

First outfit for sure.

It looks stylish and practical. Not sure why people aren't keen on the jumper, I think it looks good. And the sandals are fine too, it's not deep mid winter!

AurorasMyGirl · 15/09/2018 07:09

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I actually really like the pinafore but me wanting to return it was more a confidence issue. As I said, it's a bit out of my comfort zone. I'm still undecided on what I'll wear, opinions here seem very split.

To those saying the jumper looks back to front... it would look pretty weird on the other way round surely!

Trainer-wise I only have khaki Adidas gazelles which I don't think would work with that.

Shoes for outfit 2, I have a pair of black flats or could wear my timberland boots? Or would that be too much?

OP posts:
cathyandclare · 15/09/2018 07:18

I vote for 1 with khaki gazelles especially if you replace the black top with a khaki one. Also like 2 though

OrcinusOrca · 15/09/2018 07:37

I vote 2 with black flats only because you say confidence made you plan to return it and I think that would be daft because you look lovely in it.

Going to go against the grain as well, I really like outfit 1. I would pair it with some knee high boots or something but that's a nice outfit, I would wear it. I'm 26 and get told I dress well. There was a thread on here recently about how lots on MN don't think the brits dress well, so to some extent I don't know how well most of our nation would therefore dress other's either...

Also, baggy stuff rocks. You can totally pull it off.

tootiredtospeak · 15/09/2018 07:51

Both outfits look equally as nice as long as you do the right shoes. So flats or ankle boots with either just not sandals.

Centreparcsooheer · 15/09/2018 08:07

I think outfit 1 is good. I wouldn't wear a jumper like that kicking around the house, some people on here are plain weird.

Not sure about the shoes, try with your Adidas and see what that looks like

InTheNavy · 15/09/2018 08:13

Dress is cute.
Jeans and jumper looked nice because you have fabulous figure and lovely swishy hair ...
But dress is cute without looking try hard.
