Go for it,

I've navy ones, they are great.

CherryCherryCherry · 08/09/2018 20:25

Like the tip sirmoine and made me laugh! Like the idea if navy leather leggings dressed down. Like leather trousers but too dressed up for me. Just have to track some down now Smile

SheGotBetteDavisEyes · 08/09/2018 20:53

I don't think they're in in...I think they're a bit ubiquitous now, but still fine to wear! I do think they're destined to be the future MN skinny-jeans-and-converse though Grin

Ohdobakeoffdear · 09/09/2018 07:33

I have a pair and haven’t worn them once. Apart from trainers, what shoes would you wear with them? I love boots ot all sorts and have a massive collection but always think leather and leather together looks stupid, or am I completely wrong?

speakout · 09/09/2018 07:44

I don't think they have ever been a desirable thing to wear.

They sound rank.

Sweaty crotch.

RickOShay · 09/09/2018 08:38

I have plastic ones from Next Grin
haven’t worn them for ages
but I think they still look good, just don’t know if they look good on me

Ellapaella · 09/09/2018 08:54

What's the point of the irrelevant bitchy comment? Does it make you feel good speakout? So many of these on S & B recently. It just gets boring.

@RickOShay I say go for it - I haven't worn mine for a couple of years but dug them out the other day and remembered how much I like them. Great for this time of year.

FabulousTomatoes · 09/09/2018 08:59

Actually I don’t sweat at all in mine; maybe it’s something to do with them being real leather or maybe it’s just because they aren’t actually skintight in the crotch area. I sweat more in skinny jeans!

My navy ones are fantastic for daytime and I wear my black ones out in the evening. Always dressed down a little, ie with trainers and a knitted top.

mimibunz · 09/09/2018 09:08

Ellapaella Who died and made you miss sunshine of the s and b threads? Some people like to write droll comments about leather leggings. Fashion should always be mocked, imho.

Ellapaella · 09/09/2018 09:23

@mimibunz ooh get you with yer bitchy come back 😂

mimibunz · 09/09/2018 09:26

Grin One tries.

RickOShay · 09/09/2018 09:55

Thanks Ella
might haul them out Smile

expatmigrant · 09/09/2018 10:29

I bloody hope so. Loved mine last winter and will wear them again this winter.
No sweaty crotch here Grin

chickedychicked · 09/09/2018 10:31

I've never wanted leather leggings before in my life but this thread makes me want a pair.

Bubba1234 · 09/09/2018 10:32

I tried on a pair of soft faux leather skinny trousers from Vera moda yesterday was thinking they are a nice alternative to black skinny jeans there a bit more dressy. I wouldn’t wear them on a night out more for casual wear

TheHoundsofLove · 09/09/2018 10:53

Ohdobakeoff That's the issue I have with mine too. I think I'm going to try a black suede boot...? Mine aren't as tight as leggings (more like a skinny trouser) so I don't think they look right with trainers.

gummywitch · 09/09/2018 12:21

I have 3 old pairs hiding in the back of the wardrobe. One is h and m fake leather which although are quite thick, seem to go wrinkly as the day goes on. And a pain to pull up n down when you need a wee. I can never get them high enough around the crotch so i have this sort of baggy gap.
The second are tescos f and f and they make my legs look like they belong on a crow. The third are shiny plastic ones from primark which feel like im wearing bin bags . Have vqgue memory of stuff sticking to them too. All are years old but i hate chucking clothes out so gonna try them on again today. Will bin 2 out of the 3 depending on which look worst. Agree suede boots might be a nice with, actually. And long slouchy jumper this time around.

Aspenfrost · 09/09/2018 12:24

Surely the nature of the fabric makes them less breathable - or even at all breathable.

gummywitch · 09/09/2018 12:26

According to the Evening Standard this week, faux leather leggings back in for sure!

gummywitch · 09/09/2018 12:30

Yeah cant wear if weather too warm

LapinR0se · 09/09/2018 12:34

I want butter-soft real leather ones but they seem to cost in excess of 500 quid

gummywitch · 09/09/2018 12:41

I'd imagine they would be really comfy as well as gorgeous LapinROse. How woild you keep them clean tho? As guess theud need cleaning more than leather jackets do

StrangeLookingParasite · 09/09/2018 12:53

I've just ordered a similar thing from COS. I'll report back when they arrive. I'm a bit worried I'm going to look like Mrs Mutton.

FabulousTomatoes · 09/09/2018 12:59

@LapinR0se I bought some last winter from H&M, they were £200 but I had a code which brought them down to £150 Shock. They are the best black leather leggings I tried, I have the navy Baukjen ones but the H&M ones are arguably a better fit, and have kept their shape better too. I can honestly say they’ve been my best fashion buy. I think they have them in every winter so do check them!

FabulousTomatoes · 09/09/2018 13:00

Those Cos ones are lovely, do report back Strange!
