I hope so. She phoned the GP to ask for a prescription for antibiotic cream that needs to be rammed down the side every day once the dressing comes off. Still feeling a bit sick, to be honest.

neveradullmoment99 · 23/08/2018 16:31

I like the amies with the blue - very nice.
A bit difficult to see the blue on the leopard leggings but they look good [ as far as I can see :)]

ilovecherries · 23/08/2018 16:32

Oh, and it was Les!

Laska5772 · 23/08/2018 16:33

Yes its not a huge amount of difference because they were dark to begin with , but they have a definite navy tone to them now which I think will look good with my Navy Ivy dress

Laska5772 · 23/08/2018 16:35

He was the pretty one!.. I bet you were the envy of your friends cherries

neveradullmoment99 · 23/08/2018 16:41

Sounds a great combo. How did you manage that Cherries
I knew about the bay city rollers but not my time really. Just know the name, not really about them or individuals or the music.

neveradullmoment99 · 23/08/2018 16:41

..Although they were popular if I heard a song I might have heard it before.

ilovecherries · 23/08/2018 17:04

They were fairly new on the scene, and I must have been 14/15. They played at our town hall. I just looked him up prompted by this thread, and he was just a kid himself, I thought he was much older than me then.

PrimalLass · 23/08/2018 17:14

ilovecherries I had to chase an order refund for the same reason - all in one box. I emailed and they dealt with it really quickly.

PrimalLass · 23/08/2018 17:18

Laska the navy looks great so I will definitely do that too. I'll wear them much more that way.

EachandEveryone · 23/08/2018 17:44

My dad went to school with AlanBlush

Laska5772 · 23/08/2018 18:41

Prima I wouldnt have worn them white and black at all which is why inever bought them before. . .. I really didn't mean to end up with 3 pairs , but it all worked so well and they were so cheap, its seemed daft to buy them full price.. I would be v interested to see how your all-black ones turn out. Please can you post a photo when you do it ?

I think you should use Dylon Darkest black if they have that in the machine dye , but even if you do end up with a slight stripe rather than all over colour it should look ok.

BTW I have washed both my grey and purple dyed ones since in the normal wash and they have come out fine ( and not dyed anything else)

Missbobbins · 23/08/2018 18:50

@Laska - do you use the Dylon machine dye? Have you had any trouble with the machine afterwards? Am worried it would ruin my machine. I too have the Amies and want to do them navy and black but worried everything else will be navy from the machine! 😩

PrimalLass · 23/08/2018 18:59

Will do. I wore them around the house all weekend as they are, but fancy them being dark all over. I don't mind if the black/black has a stripe.

neveradullmoment99 · 23/08/2018 19:07

I think I quite fancy a grey with black colour or navy and black. Is it the dylon pod?

Laska5772 · 23/08/2018 19:16

this is the dye]] Just wet the fabricand pop it in on 30deg cycle.
Then wash again on 30deg with some detergent . Its easy ..

Miss Bobbins I used to run an empty cycle afterward with oxyclean/ washing soda or something like that . I dont bother now even on the darkest dyes , but I do usually wipe out the inner seal with kitchen roll (esp with darker colours) and do a quick rinse cycle after just to be sure in my own mind. . Its never stained anything it shouldn't (and not the seal even, its just that sometimes there's a residue of coloured water left in the door seal. ) My machine is an AEG and only a couple of years old so I was also wary, but its been fine. Just use the Dylon machine wash pod(above) and not the cold water dyes which are in smaller packets and you'll be fine ..

zippyswife · 23/08/2018 19:16

I have the striped amies too think I’m going to copy you laska! They look great. I’d never have thought of that.

Laska5772 · 23/08/2018 19:17

Ok that link didnt work , just google Dylon machine wash dye and you'll find it . Its the pod one and I got in our local hardware shop but its easily availaible .

ilovecherries · 23/08/2018 19:22

See, I AM very nervous of machine dye. I’m not sure if it’s because it’s a washer dryer, but I ruined clothes while drying them, after I’d cleaned the drum and after it had run several washes without incident. But there must have been something hanging round the condensing unit which then blew all over the drying load. It wasn’t just the odd mark, they were streaked all over.

neveradullmoment99 · 23/08/2018 19:22

Do you get it at the supermarket I wonder? You can order them from amazon.

neveradullmoment99 · 23/08/2018 19:23

Forest green would be good!

Laska5772 · 23/08/2018 19:24

..I think I need commission! think Hush will do more colours now?
Id love to see if anyone here does it in Rosewood (reddy/ brown) , Plum or Olive ( I quite fancied those as well) ..

I used the Dylon smoke for the grey which is quite pale , but fine ,looks good i think, . (sadly they dont do charcoal which id have preferred) . the violet, and the navy

Laska5772 · 23/08/2018 19:26

maybe it was because its a dryer as well then cherries So a good point to consider for those that have one of those . Mine is just a washer ,

neveradullmoment99 · 23/08/2018 19:30

I think you might have started something laska!!! I wonder if you can tye dye!!!???
