My orders also arrived today, I had ordered the Alaska wrap shirt which I'd tried on in JL plus the ruched skirt.

What is it with the random sizing? My amie joggers are a medium and I admit, a bit on the loose side. I got the skirt in large and it's definitely too tight for me. It was a bit sausage skin tight, and didn't hide my little Mum tum pouch so it's a definite no.

I also found it too short for me, and I'm only 5ft! Although more because I hate my fat knees.

I'm disappointed as I thought it would've been a great staple for work. Although I did think it wasn't much for £45, even though my Atlas wrap was £59, that seemed better value. So it's definitely going back

neveradullmoment99 · 28/08/2018 17:10

@Ella, thats what im thinking. As for the rose jumper, i didnt keep the one i ordered. It wasnt me either. It looked nice on you but it has to feel right on. Many people wont know about brand alley or wait it out. I have a number of things to sell and Brand alley deals are for a very limited time only so not long before you can ebay it.

Gilbert82 · 28/08/2018 17:16

Love your pictures @Ellapaella you look great! I caved this morning and ordered 2 pairs of joggers, embroidered raglan top, the petrol star sweater and black v neck wide jersey top! Going to have to sneak it all in without DH noticing and if he asks say I’ve had it for years Grin

Ellapaella · 28/08/2018 17:25

@Gilbert82 you will love the petrol blue star sweater - it's lovely. I know I'm going to get so much wear out of it.

Gilbert82 · 28/08/2018 17:43

I saw it in JL over the weekend and loved the colour!

PrimalLass · 28/08/2018 17:56

All this new stuff is lovely and you all look great.

I'm regretting spending so much on BrandAlley now as I want autumn clothes instead. In reality, I have more jumpers than I can possibly wear, including three new Hush ones from the sale. I'm wearing the linen v neck in the bright blue today (also have it in coral).

PrimalLass · 28/08/2018 17:57

I do love the rose jumper and can't wait to wear it. Too hot for now.

SoyYo · 28/08/2018 18:05

Yes never it’s a bit of a dilemma that dress purely because it’s ooo already. But as ella said unless you’re 100% happy return, just think about what you can try next! Wink
Enjoy my new found sensible outlook on Hush cause it won’t last!Grin
Sorry neither of you got on with the Rose jumper, I think it’s really lovely and soft and looks good on but it goes to show one woman’s fave is another’s reject.
An example for me are the sweats. I just look wrong in them, boxy doesn’t do much for me...love the biker sweat on ella and the colour, I just know it’ll look pants on me Sad as I tried last years’ biker sweat and returned. Ditto the rose tattoo sweat. Ditto this years RocknRoll sweat. The only exception is the Love yellow sweat but again it’s my least worn or loved Hush top. But I will order the v neck star long sleeved T in the petrol colour as I know that’ll suit my shape...

Brummie as above I’m by no stretch of the imagination lithe, and have quite a gut on me. Yet I find the ruched skirts really flattering on my shape, but I always wear them with a top/jumper that skims the tummy so only my hips/lower half shows. I think in this case it may come down to your body shape, as an old vase (now an apple with slim hips/legs and big boobs in middle age) it seems to work on me. I’m just under 5’4” tall so agree above the knee length but only just which is fine with opaque black tights, wouldn’t wear without.
It’s the same with the peekaboo vest I only wear it as a vest, not a top by itself (too clingy for that Shock) but having found remus jigsaw alternative now I’ll order that in future.
laska well done on the trousers!

Laska5772 · 28/08/2018 18:47

soy have pm'd you Wink

ella yes you look fab init all! . I got a bit worried about my wide tops now as you are definitely n mich slimmer than me and you had the S .
But 'ive been an tried them on again and the green and charcoal are I think really ok on me ( perhaps the sleeves could be a tiny bit bigger., but now I'm wondering whether I ought to try the S as well) .

But in the spirit of 'if you dont absolutely love it , dont l keep it' . Ihave today returned my Grey Wide neck top. Its nice , but I have the exact same same grey from last year sand its still fine, Also i thought that now I look at it again, actually the sleeves on that one were too tight at the top.
I also returned my Zebra leggings as I have another pair of M&S ones waiting or me , ( which I am going to dye burgundy to wear with my burgundy Ivy ). so that means that i have the Hush leopard ones and wil have 2 pairs of M&S ones dyed..

So really although I have ordered lots so far out of AW18, I have returned far more than I kept. Kept the wide tops, navy Ivy , charcoal SS slub T and leopard leggings from this season.

But of course if you count the recent denim shorts I bought and then teh latest sale bargains , BF jeans , brigitte jumpers, brayebrooks ,2 cashmere jumpers , 3 amies (all dyed) and 2 trousers.. I still have had quite a haul of new stuff in the last few weeks..Blush

good job I have had a proper wardrobe clear out

Laska5772 · 28/08/2018 18:48

ella I also really love the zebra skirt and the parka on you ..

Ellapaella · 28/08/2018 19:01

Laska don't doubt yourself as you look perfect in your XS jersey tops - mine is pretty loose and the XS might be a better fit really but I quite like the oversized look so I've decided to keep. I'm probably going to get a V neck one as well and will most likely go for the XS next time (I actually just can't be bothered to send mine back for a swap).

Ellapaella · 28/08/2018 19:01

And thank you for your lovely comments @Laska5772 Smile

FannyAdmin · 28/08/2018 19:16

Does anyone have the ruched modal skirt? Is it nice on? I'm wondering about getting it to wear with tights over winter, but somehow I think I'd be hoiking it down all the time 😄.

Laska5772 · 28/08/2018 19:17

I also like the petrol Biker , but I think it may look a bit boxy on me , ( I returned the navy star sweat because of that really) but I also love the LS petrol star T . That is definitely 'my colour'. I may give that a go and possibly the black skinny jeans (if the Gap ones I have ordered are no good) with my latest voucher..

Grey Nana would be fab , but I do have the green, and want to really only buy what is going to work with my now semi- retired/only p/t working winter wardrobe .. so I may still go for that long Jigsaw cardi though ..

Missbobbins · 28/08/2018 19:22

Are people getting on better with the v neck wide jersey tops or the round neck ones? Can't decide!! 🧐

SoyYo · 28/08/2018 19:27

Fanny see upthread my comments on the ruched skirt. I only own this one and I find it flattering (with the provisos above: black opaque tights on, longer tops to cover tummy). I’m short and it is just above the knee on me, it doesn’t ride up. I fit jeans in a Hush 12 (but can get away with 10 if a bit snug at the waist), elasticated waist things always in a 10 or S, but in the ruched skirt I find M is a good fit so don’t size down
This is the one I have with the v shaped front from last season:

laska I’ve replied Wink

FannyAdmin · 28/08/2018 19:36

Thanks Soy!

Laska5772 · 28/08/2018 19:41

and me backsoy Flowers ! (and I hadnt read your last post then.. Wink)

Ellapaella · 28/08/2018 19:43

laska and remus and anyone else obviously - as per my late night obsession last night with wide leg cropped trousers, can I have your honest thoughts? different shoes? (Haven’t got any trainers that looked right with them, should it be black trainers?)
Is it a Yes or should I just give up and go home? Grin - perhaps I should just stick to what I know!
You can be honest.

I really like it as a look on you Ella Boots are good with them. .. Maybe in the winter some black lacey tights under would mitigate any possible 'wind' gap .

Black brogues maybe could work also ?

Ellapaella · 28/08/2018 19:53

Yes the black fishnets are a great idea, would be perfect for what will be deathly white ankles in a few weeks time. I want to wear them with flats - in my mind that's what was going to work best, they didn't look right with anything I have at the moment though so I'll have to give them a try with some loafers.

zippyswife · 28/08/2018 19:56

@ella I really like them on you. They look really great on you. Doesn’t look like you’re trying too hard either. Definite thumbs up from me. Black trainers would look good too I agree.

Ellapaella · 28/08/2018 20:04

Thank you zippy a bit different from what I'd normally wear. Will try with Ds1's black vans to get an idea (it's great when you can steal your teenagers shoes and clothes!)

Laska5772 · 28/08/2018 20:08

Ella I have some lovely black woolly ( but v fine wool ) lacy (not fishnet) Wolford tights . (you'll be able to get cheaper .. these were a christmas present). Lovely and warm but not too chunky . Something like that would look great with loafers or brogues
