I think they would appeal to a certain sort of poshish London
'nappy valley' type mummy dave. but completely not my style as reminds me ofa style that old aunts and grans might wearin the 60s1 ! ! ( there .. you can see i really dont like it!) .

Laska5772 · 26/08/2018 08:33

the Kensington I meant dave not the Raven one you have ordered! ( oh gawd..)

neveradullmoment99 · 26/08/2018 08:35

Totallt agree laska and im neither posh or come from london and i totally get the dress that aunty wears.

neveradullmoment99 · 26/08/2018 08:36

Maybe it has retro appeal?

neveradullmoment99 · 26/08/2018 08:37

Nappy valley😂😂😂😂

neveradullmoment99 · 26/08/2018 08:38

Ah well off for another browse for a dress or maybe another skirtSmile

DavetheCat2001 · 26/08/2018 08:38

ha! I do love the honesty on this thread!

It's like shopping with my best friend..we are brutally honest with each other and wouldn't dream of saying something looked good if it didn't!

Yep it's the reddish colour..I wasn't keen on the print. Will give it a try anyway.

I'd noticed that people had been buying up those Kensington dresses as soon as they came in and then sticking them on eBay for ridiculous prices!

I saw one on there for £120!! Ridiculous.

neveradullmoment99 · 26/08/2018 08:43

I was not fussed for the print or the coloured one purely because of that. The style is nice.

neveradullmoment99 · 26/08/2018 08:46

I meant not fussed for the print ( the colour is dull) and not fussed for the pinkish colour but out of the two considered the pinkish/ reddish one.

neveradullmoment99 · 26/08/2018 08:49

The only other thing is Dave its quite short. Ok wirh leggings/skinny jeans but it would be too short if the measurements are to be believed on website. It looks longer on model!

Laska5772 · 26/08/2018 08:51

Right im off out to me mums on the mainland for the day.. I think il be wearing my dark boyfriend jeans and brigitte jumper or green linen jumper ..with my brayebrooks perhaps ...weather is not that great down here today .
Talk later ..

neveradullmoment99 · 26/08/2018 08:51

Its 86cm. I think that would be too short for me personally with just tights.

Nearlyadoctor · 26/08/2018 09:12

It’s very wet and miserable here today so I think we’ll have a quiet day with a roast later. I think I might have a bit of a sort out and put away really high summer clothes so I can hang my new purchases nicely.

I’m sat here trying to resist ordering more on Brand AlleyHmmthey keep sending me emails and I see things and think actually they’re quite nice when I didn’t even think about them in the Hush sale.

I think it’s reading this thread all the time, you lot are such a bad influence Grin

DavetheCat2001 · 26/08/2018 09:37

It is short and those models are Amazonian tall according to the stats, but I think with leggings underneath it could work.

Will report back with pics Grin

I'm off to Brighton to meet up with some old uni mates I haven't seen for 24 years! Shock

Ellapaella · 26/08/2018 09:55

Actually I'm going to disagree and say I like the fit of the Kensington dress on you Never. It's quite 'Toast' in its style. I think it flatters your figure. It looks cool with the boots.
I didn't like the navy Kensington so much but I loved the turquoise blue one from summer that @GinandGingerBeer had.
I'd be too pissed off with the whole button debarcle though to keep it, their quality control at Hush must be crap, which is not good enough considering the prices they charge.

neveradullmoment99 · 26/08/2018 10:07

Thaks@ella. Thats kind of what i was aiming for. I really liked it styled with the ankle boots and biker. Looking mumsy was my worst fear. It has potential for it to be like that if you style it with strappy heels court shoes or mumsy flat pump shoes.

Ellapaella · 26/08/2018 10:35

It's grey and chilly here. Getting a quick dog walk in before the rain starts and then cinema with DC this afternoon.
I'm wearing skinny jeans, Breton top and new Tesco black cardigan with my Ash high tops today. Not a stitch of Hush. It's getting to the point where I have so many clothes I can't decide what to wear anymore - too much choice!
I might do what you're doing Never and put a load of stuff away for winter. Although forecast is to get a bit warmer again next week and at this time of year you never really know what the weathers going to do. I nearly put the heating on last night!

carr1e1977 · 26/08/2018 10:36

Never, I agree with Ella, I like the dress on you. With boots to toughen it up and maybe a leather jacket it would really work. I would push for money off, or even better if you get it for free!

PorpoisefullyObtuse · 26/08/2018 11:23

Never I’m on team Ella too! Like the dress on you with boots etc. It’s bloody freezing here today. I’m on a weekend break and wish I’d brought some boots. Irish folk - Dunnes have some lovely bits! Got a lovely scarf for £10, layering vests for £3.50 and a cap for £7. Would need to have a proper try on but lovely knitted hoody at £20, etc.

PorpoisefullyObtuse · 26/08/2018 11:26

Scarf!

Ellapaella · 26/08/2018 11:41

Love that scarf porpoise - is Dunnes an Irish store?

ilovecherries · 26/08/2018 11:50

I like the Kensington on you, never. I think it’s all in the styling. I kept mine mainly because DH said spontaneously that he loved me in it, and I just felt mean to then send it back. I wore it last night with trainers and a denim jacket.

neveradullmoment99 · 26/08/2018 11:58

Thanks for everyones lovely comments regarding the dress. I love the way you have styled it cherries
Dunnes is an irish store but they have them in Scotland. They also have a website.
Love the scarf porpoise.

Yes - Irish. Used to be like a less stylish M&S but have really upped their game.
