never I contemplated ordering and trying on that dress too as I really liked the colour, and I had read so much hype about those Kensington shirt dresses.
I think the fact that they are always OOO, and have such rave reviews also compelled me, but there has always been something stopping me as sadly, I don't think the style is particularly flattering if I'm honest. I don't think it even looks good on the HUSH models so I haven't bothered with it.
Re the buttonholes - that is shocking. I would advise phoning their CS, don't bother emailing or if you have already, follow it up with a call.
I was so pissed off with the whole Portobello dress saga at the time as it is so disappointing to receive something you've been really looking forward to, only to be thoroughly disappointed. The fact that their clothes are expensive too makes it even more outrageous that they send out stuff that isn't fit for sale.
Also don't bother trying to get a partial refund as from my experience, they won't do this. They were really resolute that they HAD to send me a replacement, which annoyed me too as they couldn't guarantee when one would come back in, in my size and also if the quality would be any better than the damaged one.
In the end however I got the dress essentially for free..
I kept the damaged one as it fitted better than the replacement 8 they eventually sent, OH stitched the clasp back on and it was fine.
It always struck me as daft on their part however that they would rather I had a £79 dress for free rather than a few quid off the full price, but there you go.
