I'm looking for an everyday black shoulder bag which is not too big or small, stylish, practical and a little bit wow and a bit of prestige to it! I've seen this one- is it nice? I can't decide if it's designer enough or if I'd be better of with a more 'designer' brand like Michael Kors, Kat Spade, Marc jacobs or DKNY. Budget is up to £300- is there anything nicer out there for the money?

I really like it! I have a navy leather Kurt Geiger tote that I love more than my Aspinal & Coach bags.

It’s horrible. I can’t believe how much it costs for something so tacky.

I don't like it I'm afraid. I went for lunch with a friend last week and she had a lovely Kate Spade bag that was about the same size. It was a few years ago and still looked great.

I don't like it at all. I have a few DKNY bags, they all still look brand new, despite what I put them through, and they aren't obviously branded (I always take the tacky key chain off)

Not nice for the money.

I like it, especially the chunky chain. Would want to try it in real life though as it doesn't show it as a cross body and sometimes they can sit weirdly if the strap isn't long enough. If you are not in a rush it would probably worth stalking this for a sale!

I like the size and the shape but it's a bit too fussy for me. There's a lot going on with the stripe, the chain, the clasp and the scarf all fighting for attention.

I have this Kurt Geiger bag which is the same size but I preferred the silver metal hardware. I've loved it, it's a great everyday size for me and I like the easily adjustable straps / ways to wear it. Really soft leather.

Like someone else said it's sort of old fashioned looking.

Kurt Geiger just makes me think of outlet malls.

Look at some of the understated suggestions, quality over quantity/ big names tags/ naffness.

Kurt Geiger is high street and specialises in shoes. A bag from there has no prestige.

I personally don't bother with middle of the range designers - go big name or no name.

Brands like Massimo Dutti, Uterque, Aspinal, LK Bennett, Kate Spade do lovely simple real leather bags with minimal or no branding.

Unfortunately I no longer see Kurt Geiger as a 'prestige, wow' brand as their outlet stores are just full of odd sized, neon coloured plastic sandals.

I don't like the weird puckering on the side of the bag - it looks really poorly made.
I'm also not a fan of the little tab below the bird's head.

It really doesn't look like a £200 bag IMO.

I quite like shopping in outlets, such as Bicester - some of the brands you mention are sold there. You could give them a call to hear what they have in stock, and, if you live far away, if they offer to ship to you (you may also want to ask about returns in that case)?
