So £700-£900
Use everyday
Cross body or shoulder strap
Decent capacity but not massive.
Will last

What would you buy?

Strathberry bags are beautiful

Haven’t read thread but if you can stretch another 100 get a bottega Venata. You won’t regret it.

notaswarmtomorrow · 16/08/2018 16:32

Wouldn't buy a bench but honest to God, £900 on a handbag? Yes I could afford it but don't get it at all. Certainly no envy just disbelief I guess..

gunnergirl · 16/08/2018 16:36

def a mulberry was in there shop last week at Covent garden also aspinall had some gorgeous bags for 450 just wish I could afford one

ShirleyPhallus · 16/08/2018 17:00

Yes I could afford it but don't get it at all.

Then a thread titled “£900 to spend on a bag what would you buy” probably isn’t the one for you is it

MarshaBradyo · 16/08/2018 17:03

The larger Céline trio, but I don’t carry much and can’t stand heavy bags anymore

notaswarmtomorrow · 16/08/2018 17:06

No Shirley probably not but I am intrigued as to what makes people tick, funnily enough I've read quite a few threads on mnet in the last 15 years that don't apply directly to me.

Whwhywhy · 16/08/2018 18:36

So I like the medium Lilly and the amberly satchel. Thexhloe marcie is lovely but dearer and I don’t have a stockist to look in.

How about a Longchamp Penelope? I have the small crossbody one and love it!

Cakemonger · 17/08/2018 01:05

I think some of us who don't get it are just curious ShirleyPhallus, no judgement meant. People in my life have said to me 'you spend how much on skincare??!' but it's just genuine bafflement/teasing. Agree that some of those comments you quote are judgey/preachy in tone though. I can assure you I am not jealous - I am a fashion peasant when it comes to bags so a designer bag would be rather wasted on me!

Seththesheep · 17/08/2018 07:38

I wonder if those who would use a bag for life rather than spend £900 go on the TTC threads or longhaul travel threads to say they don't want children or don't like plane travel? Grin

OP, both the Lily and Amberley are beautiful. I'm lusting after the Amberley personally but DM has the Lily and it's beautiful.

evilharpy · 17/08/2018 14:16

£900 is more than my first car cost blah blah. Obscene half the world starving blah blah blah.

Not £900 worth of bag but Coach saddlebags are lovely. I don't have one but I covet them very much. I'm not a fan of a Speedy.

rightknockered · 17/08/2018 14:28

I would go for a Mulberry, have bought a small bayswater with the cross body strap and it is plenty big enough for me. I really want a medium Lilly too.
