I have absolutely had enough of badly fitting pumps

M&S
Aldo
French Sole
Clarks
Primark

I’m looking at you

Please tell me where you got your best ever ballet flats from, how much you paid and what they looked like

I am absolutely done with having pumps that fit well in the shop consequently shredding and disabling my feet the moment I do more than a 10 minute saunter in them.

Are you wearing with bare feet?

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 13/08/2018 15:56

Mostly yes but I’ve had rubs when I’ve been wearing tights too. In fact my Clarks pair ripped through my 15 denier tights giving me matching ladders up each leg Hmm

Lands End
2006
Thick leather, thick (but not cleated) sole.
I thought about buying several pairs/colours at the time, really regret that I didn’t.

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 13/08/2018 15:57

As the heat has been so unbelievably intense I’ve actually had to buy a couple of pairs of sandals (from Clarks) and they’ve been fine.

Now it’s dropped to “business trousers and smart shirt” weather my thoughts turn to pumps.

New Look, cheap cheerful, but I do not wear them with tights or socks. My favourites are Zaccho made in Portugal like wearing kid gloves but they are more expensive.

Boden and m&s. But always with tights!

Alicatz66 · 13/08/2018 16:23

Ive got some really nice quilty Butterfly Twists ... non foot shredders !!

Branleuse · 13/08/2018 16:28

www.office.co.uk/brand/butterfly_twists

Butterfly twists are the only ballet pumps that stay on my feet for some reason. Theyre soft and slightly elasticated. Super comfy too as tjey have memory foam soles

toomanyeastereggsurghh · 13/08/2018 16:29

Agree with a pp - Accessorize ballerina flats are the most comfy I’ve ever tried. I have the elasticated suede ones in black, blue, red, dark pink and light pink. So comfortable. And very cute.

Redcrayons · 13/08/2018 16:29

Marking place. Non-foot shredding ballet flats are the holy grail for me. I had one pair from M&S years ago but they were suede and I spilled coffee on them so they had to go. Have never had another pair that did rub.

GandalfsWrinklyHat · 13/08/2018 16:29

Try Bloch, they make dance/ballet shoes but find the women’s fashion shoes in the drop down menu. Best pumps ever.

OlennasWimple · 13/08/2018 16:31

I had some ballerina flats that fitted beautifully, except they were super cheap from Primark (about a fiver) and the soles were so thin that after half a dozen wears they were unwearable for actual walking in (I kept them at work to wear when I was sitting at my desk Grin )

Somewhereovertheroad · 13/08/2018 16:33

Next Signature leather ballerinas.

Was coming in to say these too. Only ones I have ever been able to wear.

Bluelady · 13/08/2018 18:13

Geox, a half size down. I've had four pairs, all sublimely comfortable.

LighthouseSouth · 13/08/2018 19:42

watching with interest

also can't get sandals that don't shred - well I did have one pair from Debenhams, they were fine, but they somehow went missing when I moved Confused

I looked up Geox, hella pricey! These look comfy but they also look like very expensive slippers due to the pattern?

TooMinty · 13/08/2018 19:45

I have Camper ones. They are beautifully comfortable but I think they cost £80... I'm a size 3 and find them true to size. I also love Toms but they are more casual. Size up for them and fill with wet scrunched up newspaper to stretch them before wearing.

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 13/08/2018 20:32

I have to say - and thank you kindly for the recommend - those Geox ones are truly awful.

Maybe they would talk to me more if they were more “ballet granny” as opposed to “granny”.

Please can someone link me to the Next Signature pumps as I’m finding their website totally stupid xx

Think it's these:

www.next.co.uk/style/st200993#158791

or these:

www.next.co.uk/g67268s15#166708

I don't have the ballerinas. I have the the loafer/drivers but they were in the sale and I can't get any more :(

LighthouseSouth · 13/08/2018 20:43

to be fair, Geox do have others, I was just looking at fabric ones because they tend to be less likely to shred my feet!

and my first thought was "£100 for slippers"?!

WaxOnFeckOff · 13/08/2018 20:44

I have the kickers ones - similar to these:

www.amazon.co.uk/Kickers-Womens-Verda-Ballet-Flats/dp/B00SUYS4UG/ref=sr_1_12?s=shoes&keywords=kickers+ballet+flats&tag=mumsnetforum-21&ie=UTF8&qid=1534189415&sr=1-12

but with a patent toe and otherwise plain.

Greenteandchives · 13/08/2018 20:48

I have several very comfortable pairs from Dune. And a nice pair from Hotter! Blush

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 13/08/2018 21:17

Ohhhhhh @waxonfeckoff

One of those links also leads me to the Next shows lookbook for Autumn

Oops! :o My sincere apologies...

WaxOnFeckOff · 13/08/2018 21:32

ALl i did to find them was to search for Signature and narrow it down. I have also ordered some of the Forever comfort ones that aren't the signature ones and they are ok but not like the signature ones I got, those ones are like gloves, I've actually had to ration the wearing of them to make them last longer!

dun1urkin · 13/08/2018 21:34

Geox Lola. I’ve got three pairs and another one in stock.
