A casual pub wedding. And other stories. I’m a 38g above. Its not a wedding dress is it? Isn’t it a funny colour?

I have had successes using the free personal shopper service at John Lewis. I am an unusualish shape too (or so the highstreet would have you think) as a v big boobed size 12. I am also 5'2'' which doesn't help matters. They were completely unfazed.

labazs · 15/07/2018 19:44

thats the one its nice to get dresses that fit over my boobs

petrolpump28 · 15/07/2018 19:54

if it doesn't have to be a dress, I suggest palazzo pants and silky top in the same base tone and something with a V on top. Silky, light and nice accessories.

EdWinchester · 15/07/2018 19:54

The first 3 are just horrible.

The 4th one is OK, much nicer.

I never get why posters recommend Lindy Bop - if you're big boobed they make you look enormous.

clippityclock · 15/07/2018 20:01

I'm a small (height) woman with a big bust and arse and the Lindybop dresses are great. Plus you can get some cheap ones in the sale for around £18-20.

goose1964 · 15/07/2018 20:24

If you want a Lindy bop dress you'll need to get at least a size bigger to get it to fit your boobs. Luckily it makes the skirts feel extra swishy rather than too big

EachandEveryone · 15/07/2018 20:28

I quite like the idea of two pieces as well. I would never have thought of pants. One think for sure i cant have my bingo wings on show

If you can stretch financially to buy the last dress, then do.

It's an investment, you'll wear it a lot and you will feel good in it.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 15/07/2018 20:36

Long tailored trousers,; you have good legs & a wrap top; definitely needs a v neckline

bourbonbiccy · 15/07/2018 20:41

Sorry they are lying. It really is not a nice dress , horrible colour and style. Sorry

petrolpump28 · 15/07/2018 21:01

pants is the ways to go!!! Like a column of background tone and something fabulous and with a V on top.
Lovely heels and earrings.

LonelyGir1 · 15/07/2018 21:10

The brown and blue dresses look awful. I hope you find something you like soon as I'm sure you'd look great in something else.

FASH84 · 15/07/2018 21:17

So sorry OP but the first does nothing to flatter your figure and looks like Barney Rubble would wear it... Wouldn't you be better suited to a fit and flare wrap dress?

MonkeysandParrots · 15/07/2018 21:19

Have you looked at the Boden sale OP? I’m a similar shape to you, bloody hate buying dresses due to fit issues so ordered a bunch from Boden which are suitable for an event I have coming up and chose the one I liked best, sent the rest back. These are nice:

The Boden ones are too high necked I think

What a great thread, everyone (well almost everyone) has been so helpful and supportive.
I am short (5’2”) with big boobs and absolutely hate dress shopping.
Take your time OP, it’s still early days since your big operation.
I’m sure you will eventually find the right outfit 💐.

Flaminghaggis · 15/07/2018 21:36

I love the red one

Notevilstepmother · 15/07/2018 21:37

I think this will look great with boobs. It’s a good shape. May need a cami under.

ginandtonicdontmindifido · 15/07/2018 22:00

I'm a similar shape,I bought this recently for a civic reception, it's incredibly flattering, nice pockets and makes my waist look much smaller.

cathcath2 · 15/07/2018 22:11

Flowers OP for you - you are doing great. A hysterectomy is major surgery. Please don't push yourself too hard and get poorly. You look great - those first three dresses were not flattering though! I liked the 4th one - it really suited your figure (if it's too expensive look out for it in the sale/on Ebay Wink)

whistlingkettle · 15/07/2018 22:15

Phase eight have a sale on with a further 15% off some of their dresses on line. Sorry, don’t know how to link but I think the Wendelin wrap bodice dress would really suit you. Nice jersey fabric and it’s lined too

Mummyoflittledragon · 16/07/2018 06:46

Hope you bought the asos one. It’s now oos apart from size 8, which would get half way up my thighs!

I’m also in club huge vertical scar. My stomach is still mega swollen one side as it went a couple of inches past my belly button. I’d love to have that much energy in a few weeks. Not too sure I will though. I diagnosed with ME, am disabled and have been largely bedridden for the past 7 years. No gynaecological investigation until I ended up in excruciating agony. I’m hoping it’s my uterus and ovaries, which were poising me. Good old head of the ME programme here told me I was depressed. Wanker.

Have a good rest today. You’re recovering from major surgery. I am really surprised you were even well enough to think about shopping. Your body has been through a big trauma.

Alovelycupofteaplease · 16/07/2018 07:03

Mummyoflittledragon do you mean your physical symptoms were being written off as depression? That's shit.
I hope your recovery goes well. It would be amazing if you saw your overall health improve as well.

OP the red dress looks lovely if you can find something similar. I love the idea of trousers and top as well. Could look very stylish.

Mummyoflittledragon · 16/07/2018 07:11

That’s the one. White, upper middle class patronising male. You know the sort. Hmm

Obviously I didn’t listen to him. But as a result it made me turn away from the nhs and western medicine. The gp never referred me on for gynae issues and I never thought to ask. It’s hard when your brain doesn’t work properly. I knew my body was poising me and was advised to see a toxicologist. She was able to give me remedies and keep me functioning but never get to the bottom of the issue. I’m hoping this was the issue and I can now get better. Thanks. Fingers crossed eh! Smile 🤪
