Is this absolutely lovely or utterly hideous?

www.boden.co.uk/en-gb/womens-dresses/midi-dresses/w0162-ora/womens-blood-orange-polka-hoops-antonia-wrap-dress

I'm honestly torn between the two. I feel like there's no middle ground with this one.

Even in the sale it's expensive so I need to be sure I'm not accidentally flouncing around the place in something vile!

I'm 41, tall and about a size 10. Would wear it dressed-down with white slip-on plimsolls and a tan tote.

Is the blue less hideous? More lovely?

I CAN'T TELL ANYMORE!!!

I don't like it

rightknockered · 26/06/2018 11:55

I kind of like it, but kind of don't. I like the idea, love wrap dresses, but hate those two colours. The fabric doesn't look great either, and Boden dresses never fit me right so I don't buy. It'd look better in black, and either bigger or smaller spots, also in white with black spots.

trickofthetail1 · 26/06/2018 11:57

I like the blue one best.

TeddyIsaHe · 26/06/2018 11:58

I love it! The blood orange is better than the blue I think.

RapunzelsRealMom · 26/06/2018 11:58

I really like it

Banananananananaaaa · 26/06/2018 11:58

I think the dress is nice but the two colours and patterns are quite hideous!

TheOrigFV45 · 26/06/2018 11:59

I like it. Am tall and slim.

BollockHead · 26/06/2018 12:00

It's okay. I think it'd be very nice if it was a bit shorter. Dresses that just sit on the ankle aren't flattering for anyone.

I prefer the red to the blue. The blue is a bit "Kate Middleton smiling at some inner city children on a hot day". But even then I think the red could be a bit brighter and bolder.

It'd be fine if it was about £18 but £77 is completely ridiculous Shock

Racecardriver · 26/06/2018 12:02

Looks quite cheap somehow

MrsEricBana · 26/06/2018 12:02

I like it. The blue is "safe", the red is fab. Go for it a song as can return.

JessiCake · 26/06/2018 12:02

See, I think that could be it. I'm being seduced by the style of the dress and that's blinding me to the pattern/colour. That said, I'm finding myself very into orange these days - it's the print, I think, that's making me unsure.

I LOVE the style, I've only just discovered midi length which really works for me.

I've seen a few others at Oasis that are cheaper but fabric isn't nice, I don't mind viscose but can't stand polyester.

Hm. Could be one to order and try on, it's certainly not something you can be sure about just by looking!!

Thanks v much for opinions! I'm still totally torn but glad to get views!

I think it's lovely! But then I might be bonkers, posters were raving the other day about a dress that to me looked like a sack, better suited to the wardrobe department of The handmaid's Tale. THIS dress is gorgeous - flattering to the figure, bright, summery. Guaranteed compliemnts.

speakfriendandenter · 26/06/2018 12:03

I like it!

BastardGoDarkly · 26/06/2018 12:03

I like it, totally depends on your colouring if you could pull that orange off, but I prefer that to the blue.

That's a lot to pay though.

JessiCake · 26/06/2018 12:04

Oh god yes, I agree Bollockhead, the blue is absolutely KM smiling at inner city children... which is fine for KM (and the inner city children) but not a look I'm aiming for.

OK I think I may order the orange as long as I can return.

It's a lot of money for me so I would have to REALLY love it on.

DH will hate it Grin which is neither a selling-point nor a negative.

DD will love it, which is possibly a negative... (she's 5)

I like it. Depending if your colouring allows you to wear that colour. Don't like the blue.

JessiCake · 26/06/2018 12:05

It IS a lot to pay, I agree... I MIGHT hold off and see if the discounts get deeper. Does that happen with Boden sale?

WinkysTeatowel · 26/06/2018 12:06

I like it. I am having an orange phase though. If you honk the length would suit you I'd go for it.

Aworldofmyown · 26/06/2018 12:06

I like it.

IsadoraQuagmire · 26/06/2018 12:08

I quite like the style, but don't like the colour options. If the blue had been navy (it looks royal blue on my phone) or light blue I'd like it more.
Too expensive as well!

JessiCake · 26/06/2018 12:09

Winkys, me too re the orange, what IS it about orange? I'm pale but oddly it works for me. I always thought a tan was better with orange but it really brightens me up, I have mid-brown hair and eyes and with pale skin can look washed out in eg pink but this spring/summer I'm wearing a lot of yellow and orange and I love it. (assuming other people like it on me too, at least nobody has said I look ridiculous!)

oreosoreosoreos · 26/06/2018 12:16

I love it, but I do like quite a few Boden things!

If you google you can probably find a free postage and returns code, so it wouldn't cost you anything to try it!

Timefortea99 · 26/06/2018 12:19

I love it but only in orange

thenightsky · 26/06/2018 12:20

I really like it, but its still over-priced in the sale.

BestIsWest · 26/06/2018 12:20

Lovely. Wish it came in Navy.
