I challenge anyone to find me some sandals

... that look fashionable and don't hurt.

I spend most of my life in flip flops or trainers so my feet are 'soft'. I also think they've spread as I've got older (in my 50s).

Even if I do manage to find something smart for work that fits, I invariably get blisters.

I bought some Birkenstocks last week which have given me a nasty blister above my big toe so now can't wear them until it's healed.

Constraints are:

I'm a size 8
Have high insteps, which means anything that goes over the top of my foot at the highest point tends to rub
Have suffered from plantar fasciitis so don't want to trigger it again by wearing anything with too hard a sole
Have an unsightly lumpy little toe on my right foot from a badly healed break so any straps have to cover it.
Can't manage anything higher than a low heel

I want something I can wear with summer dresses/skirts (I wear a lot of navy, grey, white, beige). Have spent all afternoon in various shops but so many shoes are made of stiff hard leather. I know it will soften up with wear, but that involves pain!

Please, somebody find me something I can wear before it's time to dig out my boots again!!!
