I've accidentally bought 3 dresses and can only keep one

Help, wise stylish ones. I've got various events coming up (non fancy small weddings, races, a christening). I am at my happiest in jeans but this has turned me into a dress buying fiend. These are the dresses:

The blue and gold one is £££ from LK Bennett and although I like it, I don't know if I like it enough to justify the £££. Also I can'tfind any shoes to match.

I quite like the flowery blue one but I feel a bit self conscious of my upper arms in it.

The cobalt blue one (not me in that picture!) is a reet bargain and I feel very comfortable in it but I worry it's a bit casual, especially for the races. But it could be dressed up with heels like in the pic and maybe a nicer belt and other accessories...right??

I say I can only keep one but I could maybe keep 2, as long as one of them isn't the LKB one.

Advice welcome Smile

Middle one I think. The blue one is too casual imo, and I don't really like the colour of the first one (although might be okay if you have dark hair?).

Myneighboursnorlax · 19/05/2018 09:19

The middle one Smile

Iamtheresurrection · 19/05/2018 09:19

I have the cobalt blue one in other colours and it is quite casual. Lovely dress though. I really like the LKB one but the flowery one is nice.

If you don’t wear dresses often I’d get the cheaper two.

cookiesaurus · 19/05/2018 09:19

I also prefer the middle one. Looks great.

BarryTheKestrel · 19/05/2018 09:20

The flowery blue one is lovely and looks good on you. If you are self conscious of your arms a shawl or shrug may make you feel more comfortable and because of the colours in the dress you can use any of them to accessorize with.

I don't like the LK Bennett one and the cobalt one is very casual, but maybe worth keeping for other events/everyday wear if you really like it.

ScreenQueen · 19/05/2018 09:20

Impossible to say without seeing more of your colouring imho as those dresses are not for one colour type. What type are you eg deep winter etc.?

cookiesfortheunicorn · 19/05/2018 09:20

Also agree with the middle one.

Brendaofbeechhouse · 19/05/2018 09:21

Keep 2 and 3. Your upper arms are fine.

OutsideContextProblem · 19/05/2018 09:21

Keep 2 and 3 if 3 is cheap. 3 will be really useful all summer and 2 doesn’t look comfy so you won’t use it for other events unless you actually have to.

HasAnyoneGotAProblemWithThat · 19/05/2018 09:21

Middle one

KirstenRaymonde · 19/05/2018 09:22

The middle one, really flatters you and the most versatile

Strongbeatsskinny · 19/05/2018 09:23

Blue one definitely is the the one to keep the green one is nice too.

FiveGoShoppingAtAsda · 19/05/2018 09:24

Wow, thanks all. That's fairly unanimous, then Smile

What colour type am I? I have no idea! I've got brown hair and can tan if I sit in the sun but am fairly pale at the moment. Is that what you mean?

First one, definitely. I think it fits you much better than the second one, the cap sleeves are better than the sleeveless, and I really love the navy and gold combination. You look amazing in it, actually. :) How about plain navy shoes with it?

If you really like the third one and it's v cheap then maybe you could keep it for a holiday dress as it's much more casual than the others?

Jammiebammie · 19/05/2018 09:24

Probably not what you want to hear - but I love the gold one on you!
It flatters your arms and waist and looks lovely.
Flowery one also nice, but not as nice on as the LK Bennett one, hard to tell what the blue one looks like on in comparison, but I agree it looks more casual than the gold one.

I think comfort is probably the best indicator for which you would rather keep - I’d rather feel 100% in a dress that was more ‘casual’ than be constantly trying to sort myself in one that wasn’t, confidence can make all the difference in how you wear something.

LoniceraJaponica · 19/05/2018 09:25

Another vote for the middle one - and there is nothing wrong with your arms.

Doingreat · 19/05/2018 09:27

I like the cobalt one. Love the colour. And if you feel comfortable in it and can dress up or down it will be the one you get most use out of.

squidgesquodge · 19/05/2018 09:34

A voice of dissent here and I feel very rude for asking it but is the middle one straining across your hips and causing it to crinkle across the front? I'm pear shaped and, in my experience, if there's a hint of a crinkle when you are in a stationary pose, after a few minutes of walking, it gets worse to the extent the skirt rides up and you spend the whole day pulling the skirt down and trying to smooth it out. I was in a similar (but plain) dress yesterday and just felt horribly self conscious by the end of the day that "everyone" knew my dress was too tight. Of course, they were probably all far too busy thinking about other things but it didn't stop me being self conscious.
Even before noticing that, I preferred the LKB one. If you're wearing it to umpteen events, justify it to yourself on the basis of cost per wear.

BeautyAndTheBrat · 19/05/2018 09:37

Middle - suits you Smile

Lettherebelight · 19/05/2018 09:43

I like the first, it's a lovely colour and more interesting shape

FiveGoShoppingAtAsda · 19/05/2018 09:47

Squidgesquodge no offence taken (that's why I love mumsnet- in real life everyone would be too polite to say!). But it's ruched across the front which is what the crinkles are. (I think...I will try it on again later to check!)

Love the first one. Agree with dark blue shoes. Don't really like the other 2. Middle one looks like it doesn't fit as well/not as flattering, although that could just be the photo. Blue one gives me a headache just looking at it. But I dislike a lot of things posted on s&b so it's possible i have no fucking clue.

Snewname · 19/05/2018 09:50

The expensive one is my least favourite. The middke one you look great in.

verite · 19/05/2018 10:01

Middle one. Looks lovely. I think it’s obvious from pic that it’s ruching. Would also keep 3 if cheap. Not a fan of colour or style of 1.

Victoria1083 · 19/05/2018 10:03

The gold one - it looks more unique. You said it was expensive and i can see why
