I've accidentally bought 3 dresses and can only keep one

Help, wise stylish ones. I've got various events coming up (non fancy small weddings, races, a christening). I am at my happiest in jeans but this has turned me into a dress buying fiend. These are the dresses:

The blue and gold one is £££ from LK Bennett and although I like it, I don't know if I like it enough to justify the £££. Also I can'tfind any shoes to match.

I quite like the flowery blue one but I feel a bit self conscious of my upper arms in it.

The cobalt blue one (not me in that picture!) is a reet bargain and I feel very comfortable in it but I worry it's a bit casual, especially for the races. But it could be dressed up with heels like in the pic and maybe a nicer belt and other accessories...right??

I say I can only keep one but I could maybe keep 2, as long as one of them isn't the LKB one.

Advice welcome Smile

I like the first one best for a wedding. The last one is nice for daytime wear but not suitable for a wedding.

The middle one looks a bit uncomfortable to me, but that might just be me projecting - I would never last a day in tight satin.

No2 is best, but if You can afford No3 as well keep that as it will be useful for less formal and nice day wear.

hauntedhenry · 19/05/2018 20:24

Not what you want to hear, but the first one, absolutely no competition, sorry. The second one looks cheap in comparison and the third one is too casual.

Racecardriver · 19/05/2018 20:27

I like the LKB. Blue one is nice but too casual. Flowery one is very British but hideously frumpy. It is the kind of thing that I look at as a foreigner and go Confused. I think that most british people would like it though.

RozTheSchnoz · 19/05/2018 20:29

Middle one and your arms look great 👍

randomuntrainedcuntowner · 19/05/2018 20:35

First one

ottertherotter · 19/05/2018 20:37

The middle one looks really nice

Blondielongie · 19/05/2018 20:47

I Love the first one.

FiveGoShoppingAtAsda · 19/05/2018 21:02

Ok. The first one is looking like a winner but it honestly does gather up at the back over my bum and I worry I'll be constantly smoothing it down. I think the slightly rough fabric of my (very old) spanx is not helping. I might try with some different underwear and see if that helps.

Can you buy spanx type undies in a smoother fabric? Or do I need a slip a la what my grandma used to wear under her dresses?

I love the gold one! Its gorgeous. Love it with black heels or whatever the background colour is. Its so different. The others are ordinary imo.

neveradullmoment99 · 19/05/2018 21:06

Blue heels [ I see its a blue background]

neveradullmoment99 · 19/05/2018 21:09

I like the first one.

neveradullmoment99 · 19/05/2018 21:10

Buy shoes similar to the models. They are perfect with it.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 19/05/2018 21:12

LKB one looks amazing, looks expensive and unusual - middle one does look tight on you and I'd say it's the sort of dress you see everywhere. Third one, absolutely not.

deadringer · 19/05/2018 21:16

I think the gold one is awful sorry, and the blue one looks cheap and shapeless. I think the middle one is lovely on you, it really shows off your great figure.

hugoagogo · 19/05/2018 21:17

I love the first one. The second one doesn't fit as well and is a bit dull. The third is a bit too casual.

CuppaTeaAndAJammieDodger · 19/05/2018 21:19

First one is beautiful, second one looks cheap to me (sorry) and the third is just too casual.

Wolfcub · 19/05/2018 21:20

Gold one

JennyHolzersGhost · 19/05/2018 21:22

First one. No contest.

bastardkitty · 19/05/2018 21:22

I love the first one!

Wallywobbles · 19/05/2018 21:31

I thought the first one was much more flattering and looked way more comfortable.

EatRepeatEatRepeat · 19/05/2018 21:37

I really like the first one and think it really suits your figure and I have slight dress envy

Tatapie · 19/05/2018 21:56

First one looks gorgeous and expensive and as my mother would say, classy! Any others in LKB you like if you've definitely decided against that one? One ££ dress worth it if it always looks fab!

RosinaAlmaviva · 20/05/2018 19:40

Try the LKB again with new shapewear and a slip. I can recommend this range:

www.marksandspencer.com/lace-neckline-full-slip-with-cool-comfort-technology/p/p22125744?&pdpredirect

I have several of these in different lengths/colours and they are excellent for smoothing out the line of a dress and making unlined dresses/skirts more comfortable to wear. The straps can be adjusted and the fabric is a special one which helps you keep cool (they also double as nightwear for summer).

For shoes/bag I would match them to whatever the darker colour in the dress is (looks like navy?). I wouldn't go for metallics as gold tones can be hard to match.
