What’s the trendy shoe to wear with jeans now (if previously was superga / converse?)

Or is it still superga?

I always seem to be a year behind.
Last year I bought converse and then superga was the thing. This year I’ve got a pair of white superga in my basket but I’m sure once I buy them they be sooo last year Grin

If you want to be in trend ugly ‘dad trainers’ are what the fashion mags are saying is fashionable. Clumpy Nike’s or Adidas running style in different colours.

You still can’t go wrong with the ones you suggest though.

@thesaurusgirl I like your analysis, especially The Elderly Mummies (the ones who are ten years older than the other mothers at the school gates) are wearing Ash and New Balance because their feet hurt.

Puts a nice and apt spin on yummy mummys

Just had to google Superga as never heard of them in my life! I like them though. I think it depends on your style which shoes you buy to be honest. I'm not a fan of converse, but simply because they don't suit me and I want to rip them off after wearing them for an hour (why so flat!).

I like to go against the grain though. My preference is to wear what everyone else isn't. My go to styles are my baby pink Nike Air Max and my trusty Diadoras!

bakingbee · 29/03/2018 22:17

My fave are Philippe Model, so comfy and IMO suit my style....

youngestisapsycho · 29/03/2018 22:22

I used to wear converse but Superga are much more comfortable. If you go to Superga website and click on the outlet section there are loads of colours on sale for £25-30

Witchywatchy · 29/03/2018 22:49

Well I just bought these because they were in the sale and looked 'springy' www.office.co.uk/view/product/office_catalog/2,20/1603594980 I've never worn superga before but looking forward to trying them.

buffalosdonthavewings · 29/03/2018 23:34

Just ordered some Vejas for my Dc, they look so cute.

Bolshybookworm · 29/03/2018 23:43

Anyone else unable to wear nike air max because it’s what the spoilt assholes from school wore in the 90s?

I can’t see them without automatically thinking “twat”, even if the wearer is nothing of the sort. I associate them with creased trousers and jo blogs sweaters.

FlorisApple · 29/03/2018 23:46

The immaculately dressed Japanese mums here in Sydney are wearing those Gucci trainers with one red, one green heel. They look beautiful, but I could never hope to emulate them.

Bolshybookworm · 29/03/2018 23:52

My Japanese friends wears converse but maybe she’s not quite so minted!

DangerEgg · 30/03/2018 00:11

I had some fleece lined converse this winter, so comfy and my feet were as warm as toast!

OP, I have these and I have had so many comments and they are so comfy, I have different colours

rightknockered · 30/03/2018 00:30

I'm around ten years older than the other mums and don't wear NB or Ash trainers. Hmm...

lookatthesizeofmylaundrypile · 30/03/2018 00:31

And here's me, thinking of buying some green flash Blush

rightknockered · 30/03/2018 00:34

At my dc school, most of the mums wear Converse, or Nikes air max. The ones that crawl into school int their pyjamas tend to wear Sketchers. The very young mums wear Adidas superstars and Filla

WishingOnABar · 30/03/2018 00:48

I’m just waiting for the Kickers with a big chunky heel from my schooldays to make a comeback, most comfortable footwear I’ve ever owned

Nogravyforyou · 30/03/2018 01:07

I've got these in pink and blue. goo.gl/images/NsK2s3
They are so unbelievably comfortable. I also have a few pairs of primark converse in black, grey and navy that I tend to live in during the summer.

gonnabreakmyrustycage · 30/03/2018 01:10

Alexa Chung had a collab with superga. White hi top ones. They look cool.

LatinJules · 30/03/2018 01:24

Allbirds for me. You only get them in the US. They ship to a few countries only. They're the most comfortable I've ever worn, and very trendy.

Plumsofwrath · 30/03/2018 02:05

And they go in the washing machine (Allbirds)!

ThisIsTheFirstStep · 30/03/2018 02:08

I see most young people wearing low balance 90s type shoes eg Fila, Puma, New Balance etc.

Converse look pretty untrendy these days cos they were taken over by old people. Uncomfortable anyway.

PrimalLass · 30/03/2018 07:45

I have a pair of Adidas Court Vantage in black, and they are comfy.

www.asos.com/adidas-originals/adidas-originals-court-vantage-trainers-in-black/prd/8116730

Nike Internationalist are my favourite though.

I have narrow heels so a lot of trainers are too big at the back.

magickingdom82 · 30/03/2018 08:59

Are ash really frumpy?!

tierraJ · 30/03/2018 09:09

Dad trainers are in fashion but I don't like them.

To be fair I like some trainers but I prefer to wear ankle boots with my jeans.

For the summer to wear with jeans I've bought a pair of moccasins in tan leather, I also have ballet pumps & flip flops from Accessorize.

I like trainers, I just think they look better on other people.

buffalosdonthavewings · 30/03/2018 09:19

wishingonabar I loved my kickers with thier massive heels, being a short arse I'd love if they came back!

Mercison · 30/03/2018 09:23

Converse ruined my feet. So uncomfortable.

I wear pumas. I have since 1994!

I like those Gola ones above.
