What is it?

Fed up with my dry, horrible lips. I’ve been using Blistex in the pot for years, but I need to reapply constantly. Grr!!

The Dr Organic lip balm from Holland and Barrett is the best I’ve ever used. It’s amazing at fixing chapped or sore lips. I’ve recommended it to everyone I know in real life, so I might as well start banging on about it on the internet!

lovelyjubilly · 29/03/2018 04:24

Lansinoh nipple cream! Tis amazing!

Blahblahblahyadayadayada · 29/03/2018 06:17

Lansinoh. The original one in the purple tube.
8 hour cream.
The blistex in a tube- smells medicated but works a treat.
Cicaplast baume by la Roche Posay.
Also, don’t use Vaseline except to prevent wind chapping such as on top of one of the above balms, except you won’t need Vaseline over lansinoh or 8 hour cream.

Maybe try a non foaming toothpaste?

violetbunny · 29/03/2018 06:20

Lanolips is excellent

ProseccoandPizza · 29/03/2018 06:26

Second blistex Medicated in a tube. It’s also amazing at stopping cold sores.

CanIBuffalo · 29/03/2018 06:27

Burt Bees

ElizabethinherGermanGarden · 29/03/2018 06:28

Clarins hydra quench - blue tube. I have terrible dry lips and it works instantly even when they're cracked. It plumps them up a bit too, but doesn't tingle.

IWouldLikeToKnow · 29/03/2018 06:29

For me, Nuxe works better than everything else I've tried. Burts Bees is second but definitely doesn't clear them up as quickly as Nuxe

historyismything · 29/03/2018 06:34

Nuxe for me too! Another I would recommend is the Dr Weil from origins both are amazing

LadyLapsang · 29/03/2018 07:13

By Terry, Baume de Rose.

QuiteCleanBandit · 29/03/2018 07:15

Nuxe
Nothing else comes even close and best of all its not greasy .
Lasts ages

AlonsoTigerHeart · 29/03/2018 07:22

Blistex it the metal tube.
Cheap and amazing

Potkettleblack2 · 29/03/2018 07:24

Nuxe

GinaLinetti99 · 29/03/2018 07:27

Medicated blistex when lips are cracked or sore.

Nuxe for every other scenario.

HuskyMcClusky · 29/03/2018 07:29

Thanks so much for all suggestions.

I’m in Oz and of course the one high street store that carried Nuxe has discontinued it! Angry

I third Lansinoh - although you need to keep it in your pocket, or it gets cold in winter and is impossible to get out of the tube.

stinksworth · 29/03/2018 07:35

Carmex is great

thethoughtfox · 29/03/2018 07:35

Aquaphor. I found it recommended for people on Accutane / Roaccutane that medicine for acne that dries up all the oil in your body and destroys your lips. It is magic.

Sparkletastic · 29/03/2018 07:36

Glossier balm dotcom in coconut. Have tried so many high end balms and this beats them al into a cocked hat. I will never stray.

Fozzleyplum · 29/03/2018 07:36

A question to those who are recommending Nuxe - which is better, the version in a pot, or the stick?

chloechloe · 29/03/2018 08:08

Avoid anything petroleum based at all costs.

I love By Terry Baume de Rose.

Lanolips is also good.

raindropsandsunshine · 29/03/2018 08:11

I've used carmex for 20 years since I first discovered how good it is. I don't need to us it often as it works really well.

Bodear · 29/03/2018 08:14

Hi OP have you thought about making your own? It’s really easy, and you can buy all the ingredients and tubes/ pots from amazon. That way you could vary the ingredients to suit you (as you’re in oz you could add spf). I made a version of Burts Bees and it’s great. Even works when I’m skiing.

eurochick · 29/03/2018 08:18

8 hr cream is brilliant. They do a range of tinted lip salves.

PetiteMarseillaise · 29/03/2018 08:22

@Fozzleyplum Nuxe in the pot. Stick version is indistinguishable from every other lip balm, ie not very good.

My second choice is Burt's Bees peppermint one.
