Does this dress look ok? I’ve had it for a while...🤨

Right I’ve an event to go to and I don’t really want to buy a new dress for it.

Everything I own bar this dress is really frumpy looking on me😳

My life is skinnies and tops now rushing about with the children, anyhow...

Reasons I’m not sure:
I think I look really pale, I cannot be bothered with putting loads of fake tan on.

I’ll have hair and makeup done but I think it looks very plain.
It has a rose gold zip and my shoes are yellow gold, I’ll definitely not be buying new shoes!
I bought the dress a couple of years back from Ted Baker but I’m worried the cold shoulder look is passé now.

I know my stomach isn’t that big but I think the dress draw attention to it?

Event is on Wednesday, will this do? Opinions please?

Many thanks

Ignore people saying fake tan looks awful, nothing wrong with a golden glow Wink I agree with Tigsy that the shoes are wrong, sandals would definitely look nicer, and also agree about statement earrings. The dress itself though looks lovely on you.

The dress is very dated.

Absolutely not, it's a classic. I was looking for a similar dress before Christmas and saw lots this style. OP you look fabulous in it and don't worry about matching the gold shades, nobody else will notice.Confidence is what you need to pamper yourself with whatever makes you feel good and walk tall.

I prefer the first dress.

It looks dated and old tbh.

I love the dress and your figure is amazing (kids plural?!)
I love pale skin with navy I think it looks really classy and beautiful. Are the shoes Dorothy Perkins? I think I wore the same ones to prom Grin

The dress is fabulous on you but the shoes are definitely dated. They're the sort of thing Kate Middleton would wear.

Have you tried wearing the dress with something unexpected on your feet? Heeled boots, either ankle or knee height could work at this time of year.

You need jewellery, and not something which 'picks' out the colour of your zip, which is a very Trinny & Susannah 2003 thing to do. I'd go for big earrings and a chunky cuff bracelet - Top Shop Freedom and H&M are great places to look for cheap updates.
