What trends would you like to see die a death in 2018?

For me:

Frills on tops
Big, stupid sleeves

'Dipped hem' tops. I think that's what they're called? Where the back of the top is longer than the front. I don't think they look good on anyone, but especially if you have a curvy bum. I look and feel like I'm wearing a nappy!

Wide crop trousers that you need special shoes/boots and socks to wear with; slug eyebrows; cold shoulder tops; too much make up. Not a trend but the amount of synthetic fabric used by some makes completely puts me off buying from them - Next, Finery, LK Bennett.

shaggedthruahedgebackwards · 15/01/2018 12:16

Low waisted trousers/jeans

Please can we have some trousers that actually sit on the waist!

bell end sleeves

The Eyebrows
Visible highlighter/contouring
Cropped wide leg trousers
Michael Kors bags
Egg shaped coat
Clown ruffle
Rose gold
Cold shoulder/Bardot tops/stupid place insert or cut out tops/ anything intended for day wear that you can't put a normal bra underneath.

Floisme · 15/01/2018 12:34

Yes it's about choice. I don't like slug eyebrows or pointy nails or contouring but I don't mind them as trends because no-ones forcing me to have them done. What pisses me off is when I want to buy something and there's only one look on offer.

I'm actually loving trousers at the moment as I think there's more choice than there's been in years.

Maryz · 15/01/2018 12:36

plastic surgery on young women - I don't get these reshaped cheekbones and as for the lips [bleurgh] they just look to me as though they've come across a hive of bees.

Trousers that are too short.

PopFart · 15/01/2018 12:37

Another for cold shoulders. The amount of beautiful dresses/tops ruined this year doesn't bare thinking about.

Sportswear as evening attire.

We throw a huge Christmas party every year where everyone gets dressed up. Dsis (21) and her friends usually turn up looking Hollywood glam, this year the majority wore trainers and leggings. I've seen it at restaurants, bars etc. I mean I'm all for comfort but there's a time and a place.

Jaxhog · 15/01/2018 12:40

Cold shoulder tops
Harem trousers
Boxy jackets
rectangular eyebrows - just why?

KatharinaRosalie · 15/01/2018 12:45

Those most bizarre cap sleeves that are sort of like sleeves but not attached at the bottom. I've seen so many dresses ruinedby them. Like this - sleeve that's specifcally cut to expose your armpit fat rolls?

Annamadrigal · 15/01/2018 12:46

Cold shoulder tops! Random holes in otherwise nice and normal looking outfits!

cakeymakey · 15/01/2018 13:38

People changing and photo-shopping their own selfies to the extent its not the person you recognise. Why?

grandolddukeofyork · 15/01/2018 13:53

Another vote for brogues.
Bell shaped sleeves.
Viscose, polyester, shit fabrics...
Ridiculous eyebrows

teaonadrip · 15/01/2018 13:53

Massive bell sleeves and frills!

The massive sleeves would only end up being dragged through food or being caught on something!

Frills on the front of tops are a nightmare for women with a J cup chest!

Renfrewshire · 15/01/2018 13:54

Yy to rose gold!! It's been around for far too long now.

Mominatrix · 15/01/2018 14:20

Distressed jumpers - why pay £££ for a jumper with built in holes and fraying Confused.

Excessively ripped jeans.

Shapeless clothes

Silly money for clothing supposed to ironically imitate working-class work cloths (ahem Vetements et al)

Large logos all over clothing

Furry shoes - who needs Birkenstock with overhanging real fur insoles

Bardot tops

The pyjama look

KatharinaRosalie · 15/01/2018 14:30

And what's the deal with mid-lenght dresses and skirts? I was just doing some online shopping here. Spot a nice dress and invariably the hem is mid-calf. Even if you think you have shit legs (like I do) this is not flattering if the skirt ends at the wides part of your leg. Or what am I missing?

friendlyflicka · 15/01/2018 14:33

Striped frilly shirts - worst of the eighties

friendlyflicka · 15/01/2018 14:35

And nothing but frayed edges on denim shorts and skirts - speaking for my teenage daughters who both want tidy hems

Those stupid bras with extra ribbon lines around them
Anything cut-out
Stepped hems on jeans

However, I love my high-waisted mom jeans with ripped knees - they are so comfy and cute!

I also like midi length.

SunsetBeetch · 15/01/2018 16:23

Normal tops and normal jeans! Wouldn't that be refreshing! Grin

IJustLostTheGame · 15/01/2018 16:34

Cold shoulder tops
Cropped jeans and trousers
Frills
Stupid massive sleeves
Rose gold everything
Boxy shapes

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 15/01/2018 17:07

Normal tops and normal jeans! Wouldn't that be refreshing!

God yes. Imagine being able to buy a top that wasn't fucking boxy, or cropped, or both!

LoniceraJaponica · 15/01/2018 17:35

It looks like cold shoulder tops are winning now.

specialsubject · 15/01/2018 17:54

Ripped jeans. We are laughing AT you.
Fugly high heels. Clomp Clomp Clomp.
