Is long hair trashy?

Please help me settle a 15-year dispute with myself Grin

When I have long hair I crave a chic bob and worry my hair looks trampy. When I have short hair I worry that I look like a 'boring mum'. Otherwise, I'm mid-30s and slim but very tired-looking. I've got a hair appointment booked next week and can't decide whether to go for a big chop or not!

I had my hair cut last weekend from long (bra strap) to short (chin) and I am distraught. I haven't been this upset over bloody hair for 20 odd years. I have a (different) hairdresser's appointment this weekend to at least change the shape of the cut I have, but honestly, I haven't regretted something this much in a long, long time.

My age has nothing to do with it though. My DM is delighted I had it cut, she's been telling me for ages that "at your age long hair really doesn't work" and sighing every time she sees me over me being "messy", but my DM is bonkers. I have never looked at someone's hair and thought it was too old/ young for them and never will.

Oh Since I know how you feel! You don’t want to hear it now but.... “it’ll grow!” I did this. My mum still bangs on at me that she “can’t get used to me with long hair”. In 2015 I had a very short “do” done, bowing to pressure and two days later I hated it. Obviously, I had to live with it but I did take Hair Skin and Nails supplements and Kelp. It grew fairly quickly.

It’ll be Ok. At least you’re at the bob stage. Won’t be long before you can tie it back and then before you know it, it’ll be long again.
