Are we all ready? Stand by your beds for tomorrow! I just keep looking at mine in wonderment. It really cheered me up every day last December having something to open every morning Smile

I couldn't see another day by day thread - happy to delete mine if someone else has one.

The mascara wand is thick and curved. Impossible to use it’s so thick.

The nail colour is what I call, “fungal toenail yellow”

chloechloe · 09/12/2017 09:41

I quite like the colour of the polish, in my mind it looks quite chic. But I just tried it on my fingernail (over sellotape!) and it doesn't flatter my skin tone. Maybe it'll be ok on my feet!

rookiemere · 09/12/2017 09:42

Nice to get a festive colour although I’m sure I got an identical one free with a magazine a few months ago.

I used the rose cream mask last night and kept waking up in the night to blasts of distinctive old lady smell. Not sure I’d be keen to repeat the experience.

runwalkrun · 09/12/2017 09:45

It's a strange calendar. Confused
Most of the lotions and potions seem to be aimed at the more mature woman.
Most of the the makeup seem to be items that would appeal more toyounger people.

Mascara - Thick wands are better on younger, thicker lashes.
Pail nude toned lipsticks/glosses look better on young lips, they make older people look washed out.
Yellowy Gold nail polish doesn't look so good on older hands (skin can get a bit olivey/yellow as you age.

CiderwithBuda · 09/12/2017 09:51

Nice colour but doesn't suit my skin tone. I'll try it on my toes. But I'll probably give it to my niece.

CiderwithBuda · 09/12/2017 09:53

I suppose they are trying to cover all bases runwalkrun. Not an easy thing to do really.

And at least we haven't got a funnel and glitter!

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 09/12/2017 09:55

I'm not sure about the Korres Rose cream. I tried it on Thursday night and I was fine when I woke up but by the end of Friday my skin was a bit red and sore. However I was outside more than usual yesterday and it was a bitterly cold wind so now I'm not too sure which caused the problem.

WindyWednesday · 09/12/2017 09:57

This calendar is aimed at the women who bought “the pink dress” in the summer.

saladdays66 · 09/12/2017 09:59

Love the gold nail polish! very festive.

rookiemere · 09/12/2017 10:01

Yes I’m a bit meh about this years calendar- I doubt I’ll get it next year . But I do also think that last year it was a complete novelty plus my pal in the office got it too so we were doing real life discussions on it which made it more fun.

Next year I might go for a makeup only type one although I’m not overly fond of funnels or glitter Grin

CiderwithBuda · 09/12/2017 10:05

Well I'm enjoying the calendar but hated the pink dress...........

They are never going to please everyone really. It is M&S after all!

I wouldn't want all one brand or all make up. Would love the Liberty one or maybe the Selfridges one but couldn't justify the cost so this works for me.

DurhamDurham · 09/12/2017 10:12

I don’t know anyone who bought the pink dress but plenty of family, friends and colleagues who have the calendar.

runwalkrun · 09/12/2017 10:17

This calendar is aimed at the women who bought “the pink dress” in the summer.

Highly confused people! Grin

I'm enjoying the calendar, especially all the skin care.

runwalkrun · 09/12/2017 10:20

I'll be checking people's nails when I'm in town later.

Anyone else got Shirley Bassey's Gold Finger in their heads?

DozyDoates · 09/12/2017 10:26

This polish is far from my usual shades (grey/nearly black) but it actually matches the dress I am wearing to a Christmas do tonight so I'm giving it a go. As far as golds go I think it's not bad, definitely not an everyday colour but good for a party. Shame my nails are in a state, but a bit of colour seems to be disguising the worst!!

LoniceraJaponica · 09/12/2017 10:31

"Definitely a good colour for festive toes"

Who gets their toes out at this time of year? It is currently 0 degrees outside.

I didn't until now runwalkrun Grin

I am enjoying this calendar (and I hated the pink dress). I am sharing it with 17 year old DD. So far she likes the lip colour and nail polish, and I am enjoying the skincare stuff. Neither of us wears mascara so I may give it away.

butteredbarmbrack · 09/12/2017 11:04

I don't normally do nail polish, but as it happens, today is my parents' Golden Anniversary so I've had a go ahead of today's anniversary lunch. Doesn't look bad on, though I can't see me using it day to day. Well timed with the colour though! And DD2 aged 10 hasn't been slow in also trying it and offering to take it off my hands!

TheLuminaries · 09/12/2017 11:06

I am enjoying the calendar - the pink dress comment is just odd. The pink dress was universally reviled, the calendar has a nice mix of different things, so I really don't get that comment?

The lipstick is a nice shade for me and different to my usual. I don't usually wear nail varnish except at xmas/on holiday so I like the metallic gold, very party party.

NumberEightyOne · 09/12/2017 11:31

This colour is dreadful on me. It actually makes my hands look older.

happypoobum · 09/12/2017 12:22

Loving the phrase "wine miscalculation" Xmas Grin

I won't be able to wear the nail polish but will give to DS girlfriend whose colouring will suit it perfectly.

I agree that there is no way the calendar can suit everyone. I absolutely loved the colour of the lipnotgloss and it's interesting to use different skin products. I also liked the mascara and wore it out last night. It definitely made my lashes look thicker.

I don't mind that todays nail polish isn't my thing as it's an easy product to pass on...........

My DSis (34) is happy with the calendar. I bought it for her as a gift, and I'm officially her favourite sibling at the moment

(I also love 'wine miscalculation' Xmas Grin)

WindyWednesday · 09/12/2017 12:34

The pink dress comment was my very poor attempt at a JOKE.

latedecember1963 · 09/12/2017 13:05

I took your comment as a joke, WindyWednesday!

TheLuminaries · 09/12/2017 13:32

Sorry I didn't get your joke Windy - it obviously went over my head. I still don't get it to be honest, I must be a bit slow on the uptake.

WindyWednesday · 09/12/2017 14:45

It’s fine! I’m not offended.

Sometimes it doesn’t make sense on a thread when the thread has moved on, I wrote it after lots of posters were saying the makeup seemed to be suited to a different person to the skincare.

I’m going to give the nail colour away. It’s not for me.
