Are we all ready? Stand by your beds for tomorrow! I just keep looking at mine in wonderment. It really cheered me up every day last December having something to open every morning Smile

I couldn't see another day by day thread - happy to delete mine if someone else has one.

Note to self - open box before reading thread

Yey, I must be psychic, wanted a mascara (there had to be one). Another blond with long invisible lashes here, will approach with caution.

Used the night mask, happy with it. The rich smell fades fairly quickly once it is on, skin feeling soft and hydrated. Have a chin hair being a bastard spot on chin, so will have to use nip fab pads this morning. Will they undo the good work of the mask?

snowflakestar · 08/12/2017 09:11

I'm not sure but I'm also happy with the Korres sleeping mask. It stung my skin a little when I applied it (possibly due to the alcohol? It also had this effect on someone who reviewed it) but it soon stopped, and my skin looked great this morning.

mowglik · 08/12/2017 09:29

Mascara! Looks like a lot of people will be happy today - was going to try this for the school run but thought it might be too much drama Wink

Will try it over the weekend

YouWereRight · 08/12/2017 09:32

Hoorah! Loved last year's eyeliner, so excited to try an eyelid mascara too. It's a shame that I've just opened a new mascara 2 weeks ago.

Butterymuffin · 08/12/2017 09:32

Happy to try this. Mascara is one of the things I wear for nights out and I need a new one.

I'd quite like some kind of radiance product as that's also something I need to replace.

WindyWednesday · 08/12/2017 09:33

Pleased with today’s.

The cream yesterday is that for every night? Or only occasionally? I was going to use it every night as a night cream. However it hasn’t done anything to my face. So thought it’s a night cream.

The dragons blood is v good. It’s got rid of all my forehead lines!

chloechloe · 08/12/2017 09:40

Mascara is the one thing where I tend to stick to the same brands (Benefit and Lancôme) as they're the only ones that work for me. But if will be good to try something new.

I'm a bit Confused at it being for after hours though. Long gone are the days of taking my makeup off and redoing it again in the evening!

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 08/12/2017 09:54

Absolutely loving the Dragons Blood Sculpting Gel but as I have a lemonade budget I think I'll be buying the Nip + Fab version.
I've not tried the Stila Lip or Korres Sleep Mask yet.
Looking forward to trying the Eyeko mascara. I've got a collection of freebie mascaras which means I probably won't have to purchase a mascara till at least 2019.

Anyone else finding that they're getting more excited each day opening the boxes?

LizzieSiddal · 08/12/2017 09:57

People who are raving about the Dragons Blood, can I ask what results you’re seeing?

I’ve used it every day and haven’t noticed any change.Sad

LizzieSiddal · 08/12/2017 09:58

I’m 52 by the way and have very few lines but do have the starting of jowls. And thins is where I’m smearing on the Dragins Blood.

runwalkrun · 08/12/2017 10:09

I’m on a never ending search to find a mascara that doesn't end up all over my face

the only one that doesn't smudge on me is EL Double Wear Lengthening mascara.
I'm gutted that today's was a mascara. I'm sharing with my daughter and she got today's Envy

What I really want to find is a good facial everyday light moisturizer.
Not a heavy night cream or serum or mask.
Just a bog standard, good, soaks in well, moisturizer.

CiderwithBuda · 08/12/2017 10:24

TBH Lizzie - nothing in a jar or tube will really help. All they can do is a temporary tightening effect. I haven't tried it yet however. I am 53 and the only thing I found helps is regular CACI facials or fillers.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 08/12/2017 10:37

runwalkrun I have a combined sunscreen and moisturiser that is reasonably light, it's Natio for Men. I bought the men's version because it's cheaper and things for men usually have less perfume added so less likely to cause a reaction in me.

I'm looking forward to trying today's mascara. I have quite short, thin lashes so it'll be interesting to see whether it can volumise them a bit.

I tried the Korres cream last night, I do like Korres stuff but haven't tried this before. My skin feels ok today, but there wasn't a noticeable difference in appearance this morning. I really wasn't too keen on the smell of it, I know other people like the smell though.

PodgeBod · 08/12/2017 10:59

I'm happy to get a make up product today but I already got this mascara a couple of months ago in my Birchbox and didn't love it. Hoping for a hair serum tomorrow! Or a lip moisturiser. Or a primer. That's my wish list Grin

Nightmanagerfan · 08/12/2017 11:15

Glad of the mascara as I needed one and it's nice to get some make up. I'm a bit unimpressed by the amount of skincare though - so many creams. It's nice to try new ones but it would have been good to have a hand cream, body lotion and more make up... Hoping the next few days will bring these items!

PeppersTheCat · 08/12/2017 11:16

oooh primer would be nice! I've tried so many and am yet to find one that works for me.

Happy with the mascara. I'm a big mascara whore and wear it every day so I'm always running out.

Tried the sleep mask last night and skin is feeling softer, and I smelt really nice lying next to DH which ended up in some action Xmas Grin Maybe they should put that in their marketing?

ddrmum · 08/12/2017 11:21

Nettletheelf- where do you get the Josh wood hair oil?? I can't find it anywhere!

IToldYouIWasFreaky · 08/12/2017 11:36

runwalkrun I am currently using Superdrug Optimum PhytoGlyc-Age day cream (awful name, great product!)
Sali Hughes recommended it a while ago and I really like it. Lightweight and sinks in easily but really feels like you have a moisturiser on, if you know what I mean! Often seems to be on offer too making it very good value

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 08/12/2017 11:45

Peppers Blush

Commuterface · 08/12/2017 12:33

Massive YES! to this mascara. I have had this Black Magic one in a beauty box before and it is fabulous. Although I didn’t care for the waterproof Eyeko in the summer box

Nettletheelf · 08/12/2017 12:39

NO! NO! Tell me that they have not discontinued my beloved Josh Wood hair oil!!

(Bulk bought loads of it earlier this year when 20% discount was on, on my last bottle).

What a swizz!

CointreauVersial · 08/12/2017 13:08

Nettletheelf - argh! that's bad news. I loved that stuff, and nabbed two extra bottles doing advent calendar swapsies last year. Having said that, I'm now using the Elvive Extraordinary Oil, and that's pretty similar (I just use double what they suggest).

Anyway, black mascara...zzzz....Considering the advent calendar is stuffed with "mature skin" skincare, they don't think of doing a black/brown, for all of us of a certain age who don't want harsh black lashes, do they? I guess black is the most universally preferred. My daughters will love it.

IToldYouIWasFreaky · 08/12/2017 13:39

I am not crazy about the mascara. It's fine for daywear but from the blurb, I was expecting a more dramatic effect.

FedupNagging · 08/12/2017 13:41

I'm loving all the products so far - I have (ahem) mature skin so am really happy with all the skin care products.

Have been using the Gatineau this week and very pleased. Also the Korres last night - despite falling into bed the wrong side of midnight, I actually removed makeup to slap on the sleep mask. Again, very happy. My skin is feeling lovely and soft and fairly fresh looking today.

The Stila lipstick is a great nude colour for me but is very drying so I took Yolanda's advice and used a touch of lipbalm which felt much better.

I am working on minimising the pigmentation spots on my face atm so will continue with those products for the time being but look forward to trying out the dragons blood.

Today's mascara is ok; I'm undecided whether or not to keep it atm.

SymphonyofShadows · 08/12/2017 15:09

I have to be careful to avoid the panda eyes look but I'll give this mascara a go. I haven't tried the one from the summer yet.
