Not used to a short trousers look
Do i look odd?
The trousers are Blue, jacket Blue velvet, boots Blue suede (different tones but boots and trousers similar)
Got Grey tights under.
To me it isnt quite right.
Before i go out like this to work tomorrow can you either reassure me or point me in the right direction please.

Do these boots look odd.

How old are you ? It's quite a young look. My DD is in her 20s and would wear that. I am in my 50s and wouldn't.

I like the outfit, it's just the short trousers.......

Cocolepew · 26/11/2017 15:53

Looks great, I'm 49 and always have shorter trousers or jeans on.
I look ace 😊

ilovecherries · 26/11/2017 15:54

Well, I love it, but that potentially means instant style death :D.

Coconutspongexo · 26/11/2017 15:56

This is actually fashionable now, I wear cropped/split hem jeans with boots (I’m 27)

I think you look fine! If you don’t feel comfortable though don’t do it!

ASqueakingInTheShrubbery · 26/11/2017 15:57

I think you look as though your trousers are too short. Fashionable or not, I don't think it's a great look.

MyKingdomForBrie · 26/11/2017 15:59

I think I’d only wear this without visible socks or tights but I am not stylish so I would ignore me!

dudsville · 26/11/2017 16:00

Personally my legs look better with nipped in short trousers that show my ankle, so I would wear that but maybe with a more shapely shoe. I'm near 50.

KnockMeDown · 26/11/2017 16:02

This may be an on trend look, but IMO it's not attractive.

And strangely I have just posted a very similar comment on the Grey Flock wallpaper thread Grin

BerylStreep · 26/11/2017 16:06

No, I don't think it is a good look, but I'm not sure my opinion is worth very much.

TBH, I'm not sure you are likely to be in work on Monday anyway. That's quite a nasty rash on your face. I'd get it seen to. Grin

happypoobum · 26/11/2017 16:09

Yes I think maybe it would look better with loafers?

Jbck · 26/11/2017 16:11

Can't see it very well probably the darkish colours but over all it looks really good, I am the wrong side of 40.

Mulberrysilk · 26/11/2017 16:11

The shoes and socks are wrong. The rest is fine.

RoganJosh · 26/11/2017 16:12

In summer and autumn the slightly shorter trousers all were being worn with no socks. I’m not sure how that works in winter though.

BerylStreep · 26/11/2017 16:13

The shoes and socks are wrong. The rest is fine. Mulberry's said it much better.

mercurymaze · 26/11/2017 16:14

I can't stand wearing shorter trousers in Autumn too only summer I think they look odd well on me they do and full length trousers are hard to find that aren't frumpy

flingingmelon · 26/11/2017 16:15

Looks cool to me.

RoganJosh · 26/11/2017 16:15

Right. I have googled and my conclusion is that they are always worn with bare ankles. 98% if the time there’s a bare foot too, so sandals or loafers to show a bit of the top of the foot. I did find one picture of bare ankles and shoes/boots like yours though.

How do they look with bare ankles?

flingingmelon · 26/11/2017 16:16

And where is the blazer from? I'm on the hunt for a velvet blazer.

Rollerbird · 26/11/2017 16:44

I would wear tan socks and pretty flats with this outfit. The sort of shoes they styled it with on the website.

buttwingsham · 26/11/2017 17:00

You need hidden socks and bare ankles for the short trouser look to work.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 26/11/2017 17:00

Could you wear it with nude pop socks, instead of the tights?

Wilburissomepig · 26/11/2017 17:00

I love all of it apart from the socks and shoes. I don't really know what else I would wear with that length, probably ballet flats?

AnyFucker · 26/11/2017 17:05

Loafers as on the styled pic

Which is a wee bit chilly at this time of year

Or heeled boots or chelsea boots with woolly socks you can't see. The bit of leg you see needs to be bare
